  1. Send a PM to Scott, the Administrator. Tell him what happened. Maybe he can combine them?
  2. I'm sorry you feel bad but.... Companies are always washing the lines. If they didn't, your hub would be sick, too from food poisioning. There is no law that says they must test before labelling gluten-free in the US. It had a lot of ingredients, perhaps there is one in there that bothers you? Or one in the samples you tried? You just haven...
  3. I would call the doc right away! It may have nothing to do with gluten. He may have had a stroke or something else that needs to be looked at right away.
  4. I don't think I have seen any of the Celiac Centers recommend fecal fat testing to diagnose Celiac. Looks like you have done better without gluten, so you should probably stay gluten-free.
  5. We really want you to have a safe gluten-free pizza. I would worry that people would get sick from your normal cooking practices, not black olives. I'm not trying to say they are dangerous or don't meet the Health Dept standards. They don't meet Celiac standards. When you make gluten-free pizza, do you use the same black olives, cheese, etc that is...
  6. I'm a mom of teens. I don't know where you live. If you want to say in general terms you could - like Northeast USA, Southern Cal, australia. That might help a bit. Lots of teens here love Pei Wei. Limited gluten-free menu but good. Not as expensive as thier other restaurants - PF Changs - which also does a good gluten-free meal. gluten-free kids...
  7. Brillant! The key to a successful product is having a broad appeal. This can be sold at sporting goods stores, health clubs (gyms) cafes, and adult novelty/toy stores. Even those without a penis will want them for thier love ones!
  8. Fruit leather with protein! You could sell it as an after exercise snack!

    ARCHIVED Pf Chang's

Thye don't do that with the things that are always gluten-free - egg drop soup or the 2 gluten-free desserts. They are made the same for everyone. Some may put the egg drop soup bowl on a gluten-free plate.
  10. I'm Back! These were under "rice papers" but I think they are similiar? The filling ideas would work.
  11. Use the google in the top right corn and put in "spring rolls" or "wrappers". We have had a lot of good ideas on here. Will try to find the one from about 2 years ago (?) that also explained how to fix them to use. This is a great topic to bring up. Here's one for an interesting twist. Read all the way, as she tweeked the recipe a bit as she...
  12. I think you should believe your eyes over someone posting on Livestrong. Just looked at the site and saw that "claim". They also seem to think we have a gluten "allergy" so I'm not sure I would believe much of what they say.
  13. Did the doctor biopsy the skin next to an active DH outbreak? That is how Dh is "officially" diagnosed. If it is officially diagnosed, then you don't need any other tests. I doubt a Ped did a biopsy, so I would let him eat gluten and take him to a dermatologist to get it diagnosed. An official diagnosis could be helpful when he goes to school, camp...
  14. MY mom did acupuncture for a few years for joint pain (?) and it worked well. Not sure why she stopped.

ARCHIVED Going Back To The Doctor

Write down all of your questions ahead of the appointment. If you get emotional, hand them to the doc. Can you bring someone with you? They could take notes and ask the questions if you get too upset.
  16. Get a copy of the tests. Look for yourself because the nurse didn't know what she was reading. You could be one of the few that have Celiac but have a negative blood test. You could be gluten intolerant but not Celiac. Because you have had such great results being gluten-free, in my opinion, you should continue eat gluten-free.
  17. What's the name of this place?
  18. Funny...I just got my postcard from the U of C about the free Celiac blood testing. Not sure how to show you it as proof. It says "You are eligible for the Blood screening if: You have been on a gluten-containing diet for at least 12 weeks prior to testing." (then it lists other things like family members, DM, etc) I would think that 12weeks isn...
  19. Your child must be eating gluten to get a positive blood test.
  20. I said to get the copies so you can read them yourself. Obviously, the nurses are not reading them to you fully. Lab results come with a range (as ranges can be different at different labs because they measure differently). We have had many on this forum who have read the reports themselves and found the doctor didn't know what he was saying. You will...
  21. Get copies of the labs, the procedure report and the Pathology (biopsy) report.
  22. If your insurance won't pay for it, you will have to. I think the test for my boys a few years ago were around $300. I have seen people on here say anywhere from $300-500. Probably depends on what all is ordered. I mentioned the insurance in case you don't have the money to spare. It may just sneak by and the insurance will pay for both sets. You...
  23. YUMMMMMMMM! Roof a la Plum ! My fav!
