  1. You could PM ALice and see how she likes it. She seems nice and friendly. Here's where she had it for a few days.
  2. There are so many people registered over the years, Those may be actual members!
  3. You get to try it and tell us all about it and the wonderful things you will make with it! Actually, I remmeber someone recently raving about it:
  4. Because you two recommended them, I got the Brianna's Blush vinegerette. So yummy. I'm eating it right now on a salad with steak, strawberries and blue cheese.
  5. My neighbor's doc tests his fibro patients for Celiac. But even if they test negative, he has them eat gluten free/lite (take the burger off the bun style gluten-free). He says it really helps the fibro.
  6. Welcome! Read around and ask your questions on this forum. Have you tried this to find a group? https://www.celiac.com/categories/Celiac-Disease-Support-Groups%2C-Organizations-%26amp%3B-Contacts/ Also, google City Celiac support Open Original Shared Link
  7. Hey Vicky! I guess it wasn't a gluten-free wedding cake?
  8. I have known people who vomit in the kitchen sink. I hope they didn't have the washed fruit draining in a colander in the sink.
  9. Try this: /celiac-disease/safe-gluten-free-food-list-safe-ingredients-r181/ Also, in the US, if it contains wheat, they must disclose that.
  10. The hamburger was $4.49 and up. I think you can get those tubes of it cheaper at Walmart? Whole chicken, was $1.49-1.99 per pound. Thighs were $1.49 This is from a "upscale" grocery in the KC area. Didn't check milk.
  11. I know that the Boar's head lunch meat can be $9 a pound but there are much cheaper ones. I'm going to the store now so I will do some scouting. I will report back.

    Gluten Free World?

The best place to get info is on the forum. Read and look around for answers to your questions. You can post your questions over there and get answers.
  13. Do you have a doctor's note? I flash my doctor's note. Well...actually, just saying I have one and rummaging for it, usually does the trick. I know its in my wallet somewhere. If food is allowed in the main area, you can probably bring it to the suites. Make it as small as posible. Maybe a large purse? Don't bring a drink as it takes up space and...
  14. What does one do to make a blackberry "spicy"?
  15. One thing that might be helpful is to get rid all the gluteny stuff that the boy likes. Its hard enough without having to watch people in your own family eat stuff you love and can't have. Especially for the first few months. Also would prevent accidental glutenings.
  16. Get copies of her previous blood tests, procedure report and pathology (biopsy) report. It very likely this GI didn't biopsy the right place or take enough samples. The fact that she had high Celiac blood tests and the gluten-free diet has made them come down cure sounds like Celiac. Ask him why the high numbers if she isn't Celiac. And why would they...
  17. I would call and talk to a nurse/hygenist. That's who would check. He may have forgotten to tell one of them. You might be surprised, they may have already checked this for someone else.
  18. I agree with this! Tell you what my 16 yr old son just said to me. He and some of his friends switch schools half day. Wed is a day that they have a 2 hour break in the middle, between schools. I suggested he take his friend "Annie" out to lunch. He said he wouldn't know where to take her as she has a lot of allergies. But its Ok, because some days...
  19. My mom has had this issue, unrelated to gluten. She had a stroke and ate something she couldn't chew or swallow well, likely a cookie or chip, and ulcerated her throat. She didn't eat much for a month. Then she had no appetite. Nothing looked, smelled or tasted good. We got a dietician consult & you can see if this might apply to you. This is...
  20. I don't have this problem any longer, but in the beginning I had a problem with some kinds of corn. I did OK if I only had a little bit of corn products ( a few chips for example). I didn't do well with frozen corn and some corn on the cob. One kind of corn from Nebraska that they sell as corn on the cob agreed with me better. Weird. I seem to be...
  21. You know you are commenting on a 7 year old thread? We have more current discussions on casien intolerance & brands of buckwheat with people who are still on the board.
  22. Someone on here told me about this technique. Sylvia, maybe? Seriously, any sticky dough works well with the plastic wrap treatment! Chebe pizza crust or foccacia mix works well this way. You can make them without the added cheese and they make yummy pizza crust.
  23. Are you rolling it out? Spray oil or a little oil then sprea it around would work if its already rolled out. If its a blob of dough, it will be very sticky. I put a piece of plastic wrap on the counter & put the dough on it. then put a piece of plastic wrap on top and smoosh with your hands or roll out. Take the top piece off. Put the lightly...
  24. Not sure what is going on here. This person and Sage are the same person. I will try to combine them. Please respond on the Sage one. I'm having some computer issues with combining. Edited: They are combined
  25. Is he the one with the gluten issue or you or both? If he doesn't have a problem, I don't see why he couldn't be a server in a restaurant. If he's a baker or harvesting wheat, he might want to take the clothes off outside or at the Quick Truip bathroom before he comes in.
