  1. I should have put that in quotes meaning I didn't tell the op that he would get cancelled but probably couldn't get them to pay for 2 procedures. I thought you thought I said he would get cancelled. Clear as mud? They are not likely to cancel him for having an endo or even Celiac. Depending on where he gets his insurance, they could charge more...
  2. Probably not gluten from the Margaritas. Did she eat chips? Food at this place? That is your most likely gluten. Could have nothng to do with gluten, its hard to tell. I find the acid in Margaritas or lemonade, etc sometimes hurts my stomach. Food poisoning? My 16 yr old son (not Celiac) came home from school early today with a stomach bug thats going...
  3. Have his 40th on his 39th birthday!
  4. I didn't say they would cancel you. They just dont want to pay for you to go to another doctor for the same service. For instance, you have the endo & he takes one sample & says you are fine. You won't find an insurance company that will let you have another endo next month for the same reason. You would have to really fight, for months or years...
  5. These barley gluten-free beers are hard to explain to Hub. He happily goes off on his errand to the beer store. He, ever on the look out for a new, improved gluten-free beer, might bring one of these home. But They say " gluten-free"!
  6. If it was an old jar used for gluten foods, you should not be using it. It is likely not gluten-free anymore because of crumbs.
  7. They weren't even that nice of a place. I got a form letter about sorry you were dissatisfied & we sent it on to yor specific hotel. I sent back a note that the corporate reservations told me a fee first. They will probably refund & that is the easiest thing for them to do. I was hoping they would change the corporate policy for people with medical...
  8. Open Original Shared Link This is info for doctors from Celiac doctors. Maybe you could show him this first? And discuss it? I would say, run, don't walk, from this doc but insurance likely won't pay if you go to someone else.
  9. Sorry. That is so miserable. I don't really know alot about DH, just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.
  10. Yep! Pretty "typical"! Maybe spice it up by saying you are dining with the president or negotiating a peace treaty with Martians? ON the fancy dinner, here's what I would do - Eat first but take some little treats - like candy, nuts, cheese sticks etc. Go out like you are going to the restroom to eat them if you can't eat them at the table. Who...
  11. Try again. Something funny was set on your account and I think it's fixed now. If not, we will have to go above my access to the system.
  12. For me, laxatives would be redundant! My intestines send everything thru quickly. Lots of water and plain Greek yogurt makes me feel better. And some Excederin to ward off a migraine.
  13. I'm not sure what happened. Try to answer this and we will see if it works. Maybe the computer can't count?
  14. Bugs? Isn't there a coloring that is made of crushed beetles? cochineal extract - makes things red. Its probably better for you then Red dye #?
  15. I meant, are they OK with the gluten-free thing? Do they keep any gluten in one place, away from your foods? Use separate colanders for your gluten-free pasta or fruit? No one in the house thinks its stupid and puts flour in your food? Have they checked any medications you take for gluten? No oats? I'm trying to think of the things that have happened...
  16. I'm Curious.... what do your parents say about this?

    ARCHIVED Beeturia?

Stop eating beets and see if it goes away? I know food dyes can sometimes make poop colored. And beets are used to dye things sometimes.
  18. Actually, now they have a "gluten allergen menu" for what it's worth. This is the disclaimer because this menu includes fries, etc. they are basically saying they don't add gluten to these items but they don't try to keep them free from cc. "Gluten Allergen Information As America’s Favorite Neighbor, the health and safety of our guests are top priorities a...
  19. I would check it at 20-30 minutes and see from there. Cakes are usually 25 min
  20. Do get a copy of the tests. See if they even ran any Celiac tests. I remember someone who was told her Celiac tests were normal and they hadn't even run any. They didn't know what they were talking about.
  21. More of a cake batter? Chicken food? Did you bake it? How did it turn out! This is so exciting!
  22. Get a copy of the blood tests and the pathology report and procedure report. Looks like you will need to see what was actually done and found.
  23. The whole foods by me, brings the gluten-free breads, etc out of thier freezer and thaws them on the shelf. They are shipped frozen. Most gluten-free bread isn't made locally, so it's frozen for traveling and storage by the store. Canyon Bakehouse told me this. A lot of the regular bread in the grocery is made nearby and shipped & on the shelf within...
