  1. Only the Almond Crunch. It has no oats in it! There is supposed to be a peanut one but I have never seen it. They say gluten-free in big friendly letters on the front of e box.
  2. I love love the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch - Almond Crunch. Says gluten-free on the box. In the regular stores. Very hard. Not chewy. I'm not a fan of chewy ones like Lara bars. Do like some of the Kind bars.
  3. Google " gluten free St Louis". I live in KC but I know there are places. I assume you have a car. I know they have bakeries . You may want to pack a cooler for lunches and get a hotel with a kitchen like Townes Suites or Homestead Suites.
  4. I will look for these. I loved goldfish on salads. My boys are always eating Cheezits.
  5. Those bamboo spoon thingys sound great. I assume by your name Kiwibird, you didn't get them near me in Kansas?
  6. Who puts msg in coffee? What? Aghhhh! But really, who does that?
  7. You have a Tim Hortons across the street? Does that greasy donut smell drive you nuts? Not in a " I want donut" way. We loved them when we have been in Canada & not gluten-free, but they smell greasy. Maybe give it a couple of months and try some plain home made coffee?
  8. I think you may have it! Do we swipe our hands, flat palmed? You know that sort of " Good riddance" sort of thing?
  9. E Joplin animal shelter was in a contest to win $15,000. They really need it now. They need votes to win money. Open Original Shared Link
  10. I think MIL will need a lot of watching because she can't get it? If most of the food people will eat is gluten-free, then most of the kitchen should be gluten-free. At my house, I am the only one that has to be gluten-free. But really, most food is gluten-free. Bread, pasta, crackers, etc might be gluteny. They have a counter & cabinet for that...
  11. Sounds like the trial separation is going to end in a divorce. No more coffee for Sara!
  12. Maybe Cait can get some just for her. Tell the kids she is allergic to regular PLay dough.
  13. Me again! In the upper right corner there is a google search for the forum. I know there have been some granola bar type things posted. Just to make sure you understand about oats since you're new. You have to use gluten-free oats. Regular oats & oatmeal are contaminated with wheat. Also, about 10% of Celiacs react to oats as well as the wheat...
  14. The last post in this thread was about 1 1/2 years ago. That's important because ingredients and gluten-free status changes on foods. Don't go by info here, check for new updated info on a product's website. Or read the ingredients.
  15. Here in the US, almost, if not all hot dogs are gluten-free. don't know about CF(milk). Remembered you said you are in CAnada. Just had The Great Canadian Hot Dog Discussion of 2011.
  16. My GI said I would be completely better afer 7-10 days gluten-free. He also said that even tho I was still very deficient in iron, etc, not to worry about vitamins. Probiotics, vitamins & digestive emzymes are a scam. Of course he said all this after he had already billed me for the procedure! A couple of days later, I read an article from the...
  17. I think she just means if you say you are gluten-free then demonstrate gluten-free. don't say it while munching on a wheat-filled cookie. I think we are still working on the secret code and handshake.
  18. What did you get? The breakfast cookies look like I might have a good use for them.
  19. Sounds like a Celiac nightmare! No bathrooms!
  20. Em, I love the dog pic. The 2 of them look like a fun couple! This seems to be my day for telling people I like their pics.
  21. My son, M, wants to know when we are going to this island? He is looking forward to it. Sounds relaxing. He & his dad are spending a week in northern Minnisota/Canada canoeing and camping. They may not even see anyone but their little group of 9 for the whole time. They must catch fish or they will be hungry because they can't carry much food.
  22. Was watching the last few laps of the Indy 500. When I first started watching, a guy named Baguette was leading! Since his first name wasn't Gluten Free, I hoped he wouldn't win. He didn't. He had to make a pit stop.
  23. Why can't your son make burgers at home? Udi's makes good buns and is located in Denver so they should be available. I like my burger without a bun. Not sure why I am even bothering...

    ARCHIVED Grr...

My parents have a friend who is a retired HS biology teacher. Therefore, she knows everything about Celiac among other things. She told them it was silly that I was so careful. She has friends with celiac disease who just pick the croutons off the salad, etc. I told my parents that the Celiac Center in Chicago says that is wrong. They now think that...
