  1. Did he eat it? That sounds yummy and reasonably healthy. My 15 year old ( not picky) loves my chili mixed with plain macaroni. I figure the tomato sauce, beans & meat are healthy. If this works, you might be able to hide little tiny, teeny pieces, microwaved until mushy, of carrots in it. But not the first day! I was happy to hear that...
  2. One thing I like to do is make a pot of rice, maybe boil some small bits of carrot in with it. I freeze it in individual baggies. Pull it out & instant rice for many things. I will cook some chicken and shred it up. A pack of rice, a pack of chicken, some chicken broth & a few frozen veggies. I will make chili and freeze it in small contIners...
  3. We have had some of this in our extended family. Summer is a good time to work on it. Look on the internet & there are websites that talk about it. What helped for some kids was some "bladder enlargeing & muscle training". When you feel the need to pee, hold it another 10 -30 minutes. When you pee, stop & start. Sometimes a month or 2...
  4. To elaborate on the neglect issue: This is in the US, I'm not sure in other countries. Also, the fact that you let the child around someone you know is hurting them, is also grounds to take a child away from you. However, no one is going to rush in to take her away if you are still in the learning curve. This is a hard one to prosecute but you don't want...
  5. Thanks Stef & Wildwood. My son needs to do a major purge of his room before going to college in August. I'm going to tell him to do the 15 minute thing. I think he will go longer if he is still in the middle of a section. Hoping, anyway.
  6. I live in KC, too. I haven't tried Blanc Burgers. That sucks. Apparently the manager doesn't understand that that can make you very sick. That wasn't a little accidental crumb, it was a whole poison burger.
  7. The Univ of Chicago Med Ct Celiac Center has easy to read info on the disease. Open Original Shared Link this is from the Qestions section: What are the implications of a person with celiac disease inadvertently ingesting gluten? Any long term effects? How long does it take to recover from the gluten? The ingestion of glutenintentional or otherwisereactivates...
  8. Back Home Again in Indiana - Jim Nabors It is that time of year.
  9. I hae posted a pic from an anonymous source. Its on the Book.
  10. I'll post something tomorrow.
  11. Hi! I'm actually from the Kansas side in KC, so really, nowhere close. And after that baseball game today, I think my dog in my picture may have had the right idea. He refused to wear the Royals hat.
  12. I'm going to add this one thing in the hope that it might clear things up a bit; If someone came on this forum and wanted to know how to fix his car, 1 or 2 people might know how. Most of us wouldn't. The fact that the person who asked for help has Celiac doesn't have anything to do with it. We still can't tell him how to fix his car. We can sympathize...
  13. What I am trying to say is that we aren't here to help with the behavior issues from his Autism. Most of us know nothing about that, yet you keep insisting we should. We can help with food suggestions but he clearly needs more than all of us here can offer. You have never said anything to the suggestions that you get help from his teachers and social...
  14. Karl, This is not an Autism site. A few may have Autistic kids. I suggested the Autism site because they deal with kids with Autism everyday. Honestly, if this is truly your life, you need to get help, right away. A Celiac Forum is not the professional Autism assistance you really need. Your refusing to get the help or ask for the help your child...
  15. I still think you really need to consult his special Ed teachers and any case worker he has. Here is a link to an Autism site with links to info about picky eaters. Some of these posts are several years old so I don't know if every link works. Autism sites might be of more help to you. Open Original Shared Link
  16. No one suggested that you feed him gluten foods. Surely he used to eat somethings that didn't have gluten. A parent wouldn't feed a child, Autistic or not, only things like pizza. You have completely ignored the suggestions of getting some professional help from his teachers or a state social worker or his mother.
  17. I don't think they inject gluten in anything. If you swallow it, you would want to find put the company and call. Gelatin isn't made from wheat, it's usually an animal product ( often pork).
  18. I know you will probably ignore this because several of us have made these suggestions before but: What do his special Ed teachers at school say? Does he eat for them? Do they have some ideas you can try? Don't make a fuss that food is gluten-free. Doesn't he eat anything that is naturally gluten-free that all people eat? Mashed potatoes, Ore...
  19. Might be because docs don't tell them to change their diet. I know people with Crohn's, one had huge chunks of her large intestine removed, who were never told about diet. They just take pills.
  20. I don't think gluten just stays in your " gut" and can be broken down. If you are gluten free or even if you get some accidentally, it doesn't stay, it moves thru.
  21. This is from Hasbro's website Play-Doh is primarily a mixture of water, salt and flour. It does NOT contain peanuts, peanut oil or any milk byproducts. Play-Doh does not contain latex. Play-Doh is non-toxic. However, children or adults who are allergic to wheat gluten or specific food dyes may have an allergic reaction to this product. Furthermore...
  22. Look around on the parents of kids thread. We have lots of discussions of gluten-free "kid" food. maybe use the google search at the top right corner if there is something specific. Just check the dates on the posts as the ingredients from 5 years ago may be different now.
  23. On the girl Scout thread, I posted the ingredients straight from the Hasbro's website. It clearly stated that it is made with flour. If he were to get some in his mouth, he would be eating wheat flour, which contains gluten. It is very hard to keep it out of his mouth. Watch him play. He probably puts his fingers in his mouth, or rubs his lips or gets...
  24. Here is a senior prank we here at C.com will appreciate. J's class painted a toliet shiny gold. They installed it with a cement base in the courtyard by the senior lockers. The class speech yesterday had the words "poop" & "poopy" in it at least 6 times. I saw a picture and it was truly a splendid throne. I am thinking gold toliets may become...
  25. I think the google works much better for the forum. Just my opinion. Under the Google search there are little letters that say" Advanced Search".
