  1. Is the lighting different? The new grocery used to give me migrane headaches. They had different light and I think that was it. I know others who shop there with their sunglasses on. Some places cause my ears to pop or ring. Maybe from the ventilation.
  2. Another little goober! You, like me , are now seriously outnumbered. The good news is that if you keep your sweat shirts in colors like lavender & pink, they might not borrow them.
  3. You know what? We are all going to tell you " it depends". I started feeling better when , from taking massive doses of iron & vitamins, after about 2 months. The stomach stuff got 70% better in about 2 months. I think it depends on age, how bad the damage is, if you find other things you can't eat, other medical issues.
  4. Bit extreme just to get out of a spa weekend and chores! I would send J & M to build the fort but they still have to finish school before they move in with you.
  5. Albertsons is a big grocery store chain in Calif. They have some gluten-free items. Check thier website, maybe call before you go and ask about the bread. The items they carry can change from month to month.
  6. I think we are very similiar to Canada. Milk is fine. I hae never seen a PB with gluten. Yoplait says gluten-free on the package if that makes you feel better. I think there is a whole Foods in Anaheim. There is a PF Changs near Disneyland. I ate there twice when we went. Mybe UDIs website says what stores sell it.
  7. That is the sort of thing I put in recipes I give people who don't cook much.
  8. I am going to say what you probably know but don't want to confront. You & your husband need to talk to them about the food. Your husband must insist that they only feed her what you send. You need to be prepared to make other arrangements for the child.
  9. These Boots are Made for Walking - Nancy Sinatra
  10. At Disneyland, it is easy to eat gluten-free. They do a very good job with that. If this family you are going with will not take your illness seriously, you should not go. You and your mom could talk with them. Offer some solutions like bringing your own food and pans. & then making your own stuff to eat. Money for food at Disney. Even if they...
  11. Cheap American wine is not aged in wooden barrels. That is too expensive. Cheap wine is aged/ fermented in large metal containers. Ladies in my area make wine cooler type drinks with a cheap box " pink" wine ( blush) and diet Sprite/ 7 up. It's sweet. You could probably use soda water with the sweet wine If you have a winery near you, take a tour...
  12. Cuts like a knife - Bryan Adams
  13. Welcome Lurkers! We need a new word for it. Lurking sounds kinda creepy. Maybe - Reading along to myself Or - Sneaky Peeking. ( that's not better )
  14. That "plus" was from the big computer.
  15. Can someone "plus" Jess? Whenever I hit the plus on this iPad it reads it as minus. It reads minus as minus, too. My iPad has a very negative attitude.
  16. Be prepared by Tom Lehrer I loved my dad's album. This is about a Boy Scout. One of the things I always thought was sooooo funny as a kid was the part about selling your sister!
  17. Holly jolly Christmas by the Snowman in Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer ( Burl Ives)
  18. I had a sunflower oil spray on detangler. Don't remember the brand. It's a human kind from one of those beauty supply stores. My sister has been using Suave products on her dog but her hair isn't fluffy. You might look for some breeder or rescue groups for the breed. Someone might have a practical way to deal with it. Witch hazel was something my...
  19. Peggy sue by Buddy Holly
  20. How sweet it is to be loved by you - James Taylor
  21. Even if you are not "super-sensitive" the gluten free gluten content can add up. Let's say I eat 4 cookies. Per serving they have 10 ppm. A serving is 2 cookies, but rarely do people eat only 2. Now I have just eaten 20 "parts" I also have 2 slices of gluten-free bread and a banana. The bread might have another 10 parts. It can add up. I know that...
  22. I'm sure we listened to these songs when our grandparents played them for us.
  23. I loved these things but I don't think I will chance it. Perhaps some nice lemonade with some soda water and a splash of vodka?
  24. Sometimes, we never figure out what caused the problem. Sometimes it isn't even gluten. Sometimes, life is just a mystery. What's that old joke? The man says to the doc, "Doc, it hurts when I eat marshmallow candy" and the doc says, "Well, don't eat marshmallow candy. That's a $20 co-pay."
  25. Its not easy being green - Kermit The Frog
