  2. I got the 160 mg off the website. Might be some different versions. Or another example of the website & the product not matching up. The first rule of Celiac: Read & go by the labels.
  3. You should be able to get the blood test pretty quickly. Unless you have to fight with your doctor to get it ordered. You can always go gluten-free with no test because you know you feel better. Good luck & Welcome!

  5. Thanks for that encouraging news. Might need to go to Belize for a vacation now.
  6. one of my kids and the kid next door were never big on cakes. You could try the frozen donuts (somebody help me I can't remember the brand - Kinninick maybe). the other popular "cake" in our neighborhood is brownies. We love the gluten-free Pantry mix. You could get the Betty Crocker white icing and dye it a pretty color. Or leave it white and decorate...
  7. I got some smart kids. If you're not smarter, you have to be more clever.
  8. We have a case of the measles in our high school. My kids are vaccinated. Just thought it was odd. Russell, that bun looks like he feels very safe and happy. The back legs turned to the side means " no bunny worries". J and Hub have driven to Colorado State today to look at the college tomorrow. Then they will hit K State on the way back. Then...
  9. If my calculations are correct, Bragg actually has more sodium. Assuming you are making a stir fry and use the same amount of either San-J low sodium or the Braggs Aminos. Maybe you use less Braggs? & add water for liquid (sauce)? A recipe I had said to use 1 tbsp of Braggs but I didn't have it & used 1 tbsp of San-J. Braggs is 160 mg sodium...
  10. Perhaps if you were posting about gluten-free aliens? Maybe your abduction by the aliens took away your ability to digest gluten?
  11. What's that old saying? "If it walks like gluten intolerance and it poops like gluten intolerance, then its probably gluten intolerance (or Celiac)" The eating less thing: When you guts are damaged and unable to take in the nutrients your body craves, it might trigger you to eat more. Welcome!
  12. This was. But it was clearly labelled "Beer" It must be an Ozark thing.
  13. She doesn't sound special. Maybe for friends with kids, you could meet at the park. Watch the kids play & talk. You could brings drinks for all (like lemonade or juice). Go shopping with them to help wrangle the older, walking kids. I hate how everything revolves around food. Last night we had a meeting for the parents of graduating seniors. ...
  14. My hub went to a local cheese making place with the Boy Scouts and brought back a lovely &, he told me, delicious cheese with beer in it.
  15. I got them at a small locally owned kitchen store. I also ordered on line but the bags cost $5 and the shipping was $5. I think Pampered Chef had them at one time if you know anyone who sells that (home party sales.)
  16. Hey! Welcome! Look around on this pregnancy thread at some of the recent posts. We seem to always have a few gluten-free buns in the oven.
  17. I know how you feel? My OB/GYN insisted I go to the Primary care doc & get the blood test. They didn't want to do it but I said the GYN insisted. The nurse then called me to tell me it was psoitive. That's it. No make an appt to discuss, nothing. Would you call someone & tell them they have diabetes and then hang up? You can find lots...
  18. Found this on Wikipedia: might be an issue if you have other plants next to it. [edit]Weed removal As a weed, thistles are sometimes thought to be difficult to remove, as they will grow back if cut. However, covering the cut stem with plain table salt will kill the root.[citation needed] My hub let these grow in his " experimental" flower bed...
  19. Nuclear war fare! Those things are tough! Or you could embrace the natural flora and pretend your growing them on purpose. Seriously- I'll ask around & see if I hear anything. Mostly I've heard digging them out to get the evil roots.
  20. What would we do without it? I know lots of people around here love the raisin bread they make.
  21. My favorite canyon Bakehouse San Juan bread is dairy free. It is a heartier whole grain bread.
  22. Feeling psilly

  23. I found them in a specialty kitchen store near me so I didn't have to pay shipping. There are lots of places to order them. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link free.com/index.cfm/manufacturer/IMCG/959069-___-Toast-It-Bags.html For bread, most people like Udi's, Rudis (becareful when choosing as they make wheat bread, too) and...
  24. For the airplane or car you can make sandwiches. The airplane won't let you bring ice packs. I got little packets of pb & almond butter at whole foods. You can take them on the plane in your quart baggie. Sounds like when you get there you can get things you need. Watch out when using others cooking stuff. Foil is your friend! Don't use the toasters...
