  1. I live in Kansas. We have flat, cows, wheat, corn & tumbleweeds. We would feel at home.
  2. The kid in the old green pic- up with Kansas liscense plates, a Mtn bike & a snow board standing at your door in a few days is J. He will be your new son.
  3. These do not sound like nice people. If you didn't have Celiac, they still wouldn't be nice people. Nice people put the wheat cracker in the dip. When you explain the problem, nice people are sorry. Nice people didn't know or remember. Nice people try not to do it again. They may forget because they don't live with it on a dailt basis, but they wouldn...
  4. Apparently, there is a disturbance in The Force. We are all experiencing some technical difficulties. I haven't heard yet if it's due to a minor glutening of the computer system or something more serious.
  5. Because of my younger son's great interest in the giant cake, older brother (HS senior) saw one of the articles. Used it for his current event article. They spent 15 minutes discussing Celiac and gluten free food in his class. Another student has Celiac. He said they usually don't discuss the articles but exercise & nutrition is a big deal to the...
  6. Welcome to the party!
  7. Hello. Welcome.
  8. Ask them- have you seen toast crumbs in the jelly? Broken chips in the dip? I have a hot cheesy dip I bring to things. I have a small oven safe bowl and the bigger oven safe bowl. I put some in each. I make a personal bag of chips and carrot sticks. Then I let them have at the big bag of chips & big bowl of dip. I have my nice private, safe bowl...
  9. My boys could help yours build a robot chicken with laser beam eyes that lays chocolate eggs.
  10. Stop! Take a deep breath. Now jump up & down 5 times! It doesn't have to say gluten free to be gluten free. Look on the " what's for dinner" thread and see what people eat. Ok....some of them are gourmet cooks & some of them seem to love Brussels sprouts and tofu. A lot of them ( us) just eat the same regular stuff from before. Leftover grilled...
  11. I want your doctor! Please tell me you live in the Kansas City area! Please!
  12. Eat chocolate. Look around on this site. We have had this discussion a lot. Here is an example. I found dark chocolate helped with withdrawal headaches the first week.
  13. My thoughts exactly! I just wanted those same old Rice Krispies with no real redeeming nutritional value.
  14. Apparently, the gluten-free diet became quite a conversation in his History class. One of the girls has Celiac & she & J talked about it to the class. He said they usually don't discuss the current events articles except the most interesting.
  15. And after all that red dye, its dried blood red at best. A bacon mural sounds like one of the most important peices of art of this century to date! Where is this? Your kitchen? Her bedroom? Please post a pic.
  16. Actually, its a blessing that the other problems helped you catch the blockages. I believe you still qualify as a psilly because this is all sort of funny in sick comedy type way. Perhaps you can come out of this as The Bionic Woman?
  17. I will try them They are made with "whole grain brown rice". I don't think the regular ones are. They may be healthier but not quite the same.
  18. I was one of the people who questioned Food for life about their gluten free foods. I loved the rice tortillas. There website had many inconsistencies. They had things listed one place as gluten-free but not another. When questioned about the use of barley water, they were confused. They were surprised at what the website said. Canada had a recall of...
  19. Well, J decided on a college. As you might guess, its the most expensive one. He is going to Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO. Hub went with him & said it really is the best place for him academically & socially.
  20. Do you eat that many eggs? Or give them away?
  21. Sooo cute! Do they have names?
  22. There is a movement here to allow people to have chickens at thier homes in the towns. I would love to have a few, I think it would be fun. But it ain't gonna happen in my city.
  23. Even before gluten-free, I didn't buy most of these products. I'm like Julie - I'm picky. I like the TP or salsa or canned beans that I like. I am lucky that I don't have a tight food budget. If I have to tighten it up, it may be whatever TP is on sale. I know people who spend time and effort to get free Halloween candy or whatever. I think its...
  24. Maybe you could share some gluten-free snacks with her. Or maybe, snack only at the kitchen table or patio table. No walking around. This would help. Then have Jess handwashing suggestion. Keep your stuff in boxes or plastic boxes or up high. I don't know what size the toys are, but here we can take them out while we are playing. My son went...
  25. Courtney! Did you see my previous post? He's a jerk! That's all the time you need to give him! If you want or need an official diagnosis..... See my suggestion, Hon. Ps. I have 2 teen sons & skinny is not what is attractive. They like brains, personality & some curves.
