  1. Could you put a piece of foil on the toaster oven rack before you toast? Scrub the heck out out of it first. We have had many threads about budget eating. If you don't buy alot of the gluten-free cookies, pastas & breads, you can eat pretty cheaply. Go to the top right corner of your screen. "Search Forum" I tried searching by "Budget" and...
  2. OK. I'm back. The oldest managed to break a glass on his way out the door trying to take his Claritin. The foil packets would work on a stove I think. They make great stuff in dutch ovens with hot charcoal. We have made some at home, they are yummy but wouldn't work for a gas stove. You could do burgers, eggs, anything you can cook on...
  3. My hub & son are big Scout campers. They have some yummy gluten-free stuff. I think I posted it here before. I'll look and post some when the boys leave for school.
  4. Thank you - Cee Lo Green. ( tribute to firefighters) So much happened while I was at 2 more lacrosse games. The boys will just have to stop.
  5. Call them tomorrow around 10:30 and ask to speak to the manager. Tell them what happened. Then email the corporate office and repeat what happened. They don't have much of a gluten-free menu but they should still be told. Who knows, maybe someone will care. If they offer you a grit cert, take it. Donate it to the high school for a prize for kids that...

  7. I have been watching the young men putting a new roof on across the street. Good thing thier mothers aren't here! They would be terrified. This is a very tall and steep roof. The run up & down with big boards & tools & packs of roofing. In 90 degree sunshine today. Shudder!
  8. I am all for learning new things and even debating different issues. I an certain we do not know all there is to know about Celiac, autoimmune disorders & gluten intolerance. To tell you the truth, I have some concerns that you are putting yourself out there as a Naturopath and an MD. This is from your own profile: I’m a guy who is 58 yrs. ...
  9. I remember when I was a kid, my uncle said these were the dumbest birds he had ever had. So cute tho. Maybe the others will take care of her.
  10. Yeah! happy bird! ( tell him he owes me )
  11. I love these things. They are basically a variety of nuts with salt, stuck together with a sweet coating. Yum! Be careful if you have a loose filling!
  12. oh good! I had a good idea! We have " wild bird" stores here that sell a lot of different seeds for different birds. You can buy by the weight so you can get a small amount.y
  13. Excellent excuse! Much better than mine.
  14. Maybe you could mix your own bird food? Find out what you need in it and buy the separate parts? Not sure of that's possible but it's worth a try.
  15. I have 2 teen boys. The 18 year old was & still is picky. The younger started that way but changed. He still won't eat some mushy sticky stuff like PB. He can't stand the texture. Here is how he became less picky. He is active in Boy Scouts. If you are hungry, you eat what is being served or you have to cook with. Also, if my BIL would eat...
  16. Oh! just great! Another, super delicious, full fat & calorie gluten-free treat! I'm actually happy for you, it's me who doesn't need to know about these.
  17. Did you search this site? I don't have a bird but I think this has been discussed recently.
  18. We have 3 " Super Target". The have a full grocery with produce. It has some gluten-free pasta, cereal, cookies, flours, frozen dinners, etc. They are mostly spread around with the other pasta, etc. We have a full snack bar, bakery, deli counter , pharmacy & Starbucks. It's a full grocery but unlike the regular large groceries, it is a bit limited...
  19. Shh! Don't tell anyone! This is just between you & me, right? When I got my extra, off the charts positive Celiac blood tests, I had to wait 2 months for the endo. Hub & I did "The Goodbye to Gluten tour". All our favorite and almost favorite restuarants and beers.
  20. Gee Eff, you did have a busy and profitable day . You scammed free wine & 5 comics. Spray starch used to be corn starch. I have seen recipes years ago to make your own with corn starch. Seems like the last time I used spray starch it was made by the company that makes the cooking corn starch.
  21. Where is everbody? I have have been at 2 lacrosse games. What's your excuse?
  22. Here's one thing you are really going to hate! Those things are mostly gluten-free in the States.

I think I would have stared at her for a few minutes until she noticed. Then I would have said, real friendly like, "Ooooh! That tortilla looks almost like a gluteny one! What brand is it? Or I didn't know Chipolte had gluten-free tortillas!". When she said it wasn't gluten-free, I would have looked shocked and said, " You do realize you are in a meeting...
