  1. Check Vicks web site under FAQs.
  2. I got this response in April 2010 from Halls if that helps. Did you check the websites for the cold meds? Thank you for your inquiry concerning the presence of allergens in products produced by our company. We are a food company committed to very high standards and we have a clearly defined policy of complying with food regulations. Additionally...
  3. I looked up defatted wheat germ. Sounds like they extract the oil but the point is to leave the proteins. I think gluten is a wheat protein. I would think these contain gluten. Have you tried to call the manufacturer?
  4. No. It grows in ditches and along fences. I understand it isn't a high quality version. It looks pretty tho.
  5. Actually string trimmers are used alot around here to cut down the pot that grows wild.
  6. As the mom of 2 men - Yup! Since about the age of 9, "Let me lift that, carry that, etc" They love to show how strong they are.
  7. Does anyone know if any of the resturants on Catalina Island, Ca have gluten-free food? Looking at the website for the island, it looks doubtful. Will bring a lunch as "A good Celiac is always prepared!"
  8. I agree. I love reading your posts. I am soooooo happy to hear your Hub is adopted! My MIL was crazy with a diagnosis. But it was more the sad and inconvenient kind. Not particularly dangerous. Her ex, my FIL, is evil. He can't do anything to us because we limit our exposure to him and he usually only wants to see us if he wants something from...
  9. Thanks, Lisa! The pilot is a doctor! It will only be the 2 of them and 2 Weed Whackers (hand held string trimmers). They are going to clear an area where he has his sail boat, so the kids can camp. This might not happen as they are now calling for storms Sunday.
  10. There are gluten-free beers which are a bit sweeter than regular beer. Hard ciders are sweet. Wine. I think there is a list you could google.

    ARCHIVED Suspicious

I'm hoping no news is good news. Or K8 is in jail for strangling her MIL.
  12. When people type K instead of OK, I think they are talking to me cause my hub & sis call me K. I remember seeing an English TV show about re-decorating gardens and they had chairs & a plastic pool in the back garden. Didn't make it into the final design but I thought everyone in the London area had that type of pool. . We still have one for...
  13. I went and looked at the website. Looks like some serious atheletes. Wish I could dance. Good luck! Have a great time!
  14. I agree with wine, cheese, a little fruit... Maybe not the best for breakfast if you want to do something later. What will you be competeing in? I know nothing of these games. I think I'll google them. I think a chance to compete and meet people from all over the world is an excellant event.
  15. Better you find out when you can be at home in your own bathroom then when you are traveling. I know several people who tested negative for Celiac but have other GI problems and their GIs told them to go gluten-free or at least gluten lite because it is hard for everyone to digest.
  16. I have to be careful not to over analyze everything now. You know... gas! Oh no! What is wrong! Did I get the only gluten ever put in a diet coke? The hamburger I put in the chili is contaminated! A bread crumb from my kids lunch he ate at McDonalds must have gotten in my crockpot! Maybe its just the bubbles in the diet coke and the beans in the chili...
  17. [quote name='curlyfries' date='09 July 2010 - 09:24 PM' timestamp='1278728670' post= Do you really think he would listen? Last year when hubby decided to ride his motorcycle to Houston, I told him several times that it didn't feel right......I was scared of him doing it. And of course, he did it anyway. Y'all know the rest.
  18. Looks like he can do cheese and meat. Those could fatten me up. Poor guy can't eat much, can he? Potatoes and rice. Ice cream? Beans? When my cousin grew 10 inches in 4 months & gained no weight, his doc put him on ice cream and a beer right before bed. ( Lucky 14 year old). What about seeds? Pumpkin, sunflower, sesame? Hang in there!
  19. I'm leaning toward not making a fuss as the pilot is a perfectionist who will not go unless he has checked every little bit. Both my parents (yes, surprisingly even my mom) used to fly before they needed the money for more important things like me, sis & bro. Would be interested to hear Lisa B's thoughts. Thanks, Peter.
  20. For me, being sick with vitamin deficiencies has me out of shape. Now that I'm feeling better, I getting more exercise. I think you just have to build up your stamina if everything (vitamins & thyroid, etc) are good. You have to build up for the physical and mental stress of a job. Even if it's just sitting all day in one position or standing or up...
  21. I don't know much but many years ago I heard a neurologist speak about the effects of not sleeping on your brain. He said that he could induce anyone to have a seizure if he kept them awake long enough. He also said that for some people it doesn't' take as much fatigue as others. Also said that fever seizures as a child or adult could mean you are more...
  22. Hub may be going in a small private plane this weekend to prepare for a Scout campout. Not sure I like the idea. Another small private plane just crashed near here today. . Do I "forbid" him?
  23. Is the only part of your small intestine that was biopsied the duodenum? Did he biopsy any other part of the small intestine? My duodenum was clear but the rest of my small intestines had blunting.
  24. Didn't think I would get an answer but this is what I got: Thank you for your interest in Wendy's!
