  1. If you actually have Celiac, 14 days is not enough to heal years of disease . We have to be gluten-free to live. People playing around with gluten free as a fad or cool diet ......well..it's....ugh! I can't think of a nice way to say it..... It's like deciding to play with a wheelchair and saying " it's fun to wheel around!! You people who need a chair...
  2. Sorry. I thought my point was clear. But I will be more specific., You chose to "bump" an 8-10 year old thread. I was just pointing out, for anyone who see this, that the previous info may be out of date.
  3. These comments on this thread are from 2008 and older. Ingredients change over 8-10 years, so some of the info these people were going on might not apply today.
  4. Most of us here go gluten free for medical reasons not because their favorite sports star is gluten-free. So , its hard to say what you will experience. If you think you might have Celiac Disease, you should get all testing done before going gluten free as the testing does not work when gluten free. For people with celiac disease there...
  5. Oh! Barty! I am so sorry! I will miss you. I loved to think of you in your store. You always sounded so happy there. I had hoped to stop in some time. thank you for letting us know
  6. I am much too lazy to soak and cook dried beans! lol I use canned. Which must have been dry beans at one time? I eat beans at a couple of restaurants that are probably cooked from dry and I am fine with them.
  7. I don't have an issue with any type of beans Open Original Shared Link
  8. Just to clarify for those reading along...... This is not gluten, Celiac or Sjogren's related.
  9. They were discontinued a while back Open Original Shared Link
  10. Corn is safe for Celiacs. Sure, there are people who can't have corn, but it isn't because of Celiac disease. You will find a lot of crazy info on the internet. Stick to reliable sites. Open Original Shared Link "...Therefore, corn doesn’t contain gluten,..."
  11. Interesting article about gluten in meds and how to see if it's in your med Open Original Shared Link "A recent search of medications listed on a National Library of Medicine database, managed in conjunction with the National Institute of Health, showed that there were 8,379 individual products or dosage forms that contained the word “starch.” ...
  12. And when you told him/her or your " regular" Doctor that that doesn't work? Did they talk about prescription eye drops? Maybe it's an allergic reaction to something in the environment? Are you staring at a computer or tv or reading when it happens? Maybe give the docs a little info to go on.
  13. The previous info is from 2009. Ingredients, etc can change in that time period.
  14. Just want to make sure you were never diagnosed with Celiac? Because, these tests have nothing to do with if a Celiac can eat gluten. A Celiac cannot eat gluten and does not grow out of it.
  15. Very few meds actually contain gluten. Its possible the acid reflux has nothing to do with gluten. Many people, who do not have Celiac, have reflux.
  16. That is Dr. Leffler's one - its legit
  17. No suspicions on canyon Bakehouse. They only make gluten-free products and have always been reliable. Does she have this problem with other breads? Maybe its an ingredient that bothers her, like xanthum gum or one of the grains? what does she eat with the bread? Is it something she eats without the bread and is OK?
  18. Very funny.....
  19. You are responding to a post that is 9 years old. Probably won't get an answer.
  20. I don't know what those are. Are they just plain beans? I use all different brands of plain beans, I just read the ingredients. However, I have not found a plain canned bean with gluten added. Flavored ones, might have gluten
  21. Wow! That is a lot of mis-information in this answer to a thread from 2010! That whole part about dairy is way off. Some people with Celiac disease (which is not an allergy) do have a hard time digesting dairy. Celiac disease damages the part of the intestines that produce the enzyme that digests dairy. some people are able to add dairy back in after...
  22. It can be gluten free . The same facility does not mean something isn't gluten-free. The info in these posts is 12 years old. I am not sure what their current protocols are - do they test? Are the ingredients kept separated? Etc?
  23. You might want to google " FODMAPS". Then read some reputable sites first - like Mayo Clinic not some person calling themselves an expert. You seem like a classic case. Being mostly gluten free is part of that diet, but a few crumbs of gluten shouldn't hurt.
