  1. "A screening test is commonly used when an individual is in a risk group for celiac disease, whether or not he or she has symptoms. The tTGIgA test is usually the one offered for celiac screening events, as it is the most sensitive test available. In fact, it is generally believed that about 98% of people with celiac disease have a positive tTG test. While...
  2. The difference on those tests doesn't sound especially significant. A slight positive might be normal with your other autoimmune diseases.
  3. Baking in an oven won't " gluten" you unless it touches gluten. The main problem with gluten-free pizza is that the ingredients are cross contaminated. For instance, they use gloves or hands to put a gluten pizza crust on a pan, then put these hands in the cheese - the cheese now has flour in it. A good gluten-free pizza place will have a gluten-free...
  4. Sorry. It sounded like you thought there was such a thing as a " gluten allergy" and it is Celiac. There are wheat allergies but an allergy is a bit different than an intolerance. And I don't think there is a lactose allergy. I think it's an allergy to casein, a protein in milk. Lactose intolerance is rough and has a lot of the same symptoms as Celiac...
  5. Wow! I was f&$$ing brilliant back in 2013! Lol :0 and, my kids are no longer teens, but do eat some veggies. Oldest, 23, just decided he liked asparagus after all these years of hating it. Amazing what a serious girlfriend can do for a guy's diet!
  6. If that is all I ate in 2 days, I would feel pretty sick, too. Why not try to eat foods in a more " natural state"? Like fresh fruit and veggies, plain meats, rice, etc? Cook them yourself so you know what is in them.
  7. Brownies or flourless chocolate cakes always come out yummy. You can dress them up a bit by making them in a round pan, covering in ganache, then add a raspberry or piece of strawberry. Or do a chocolate " fountain" or chocolate fondue ( I just buy a good fudge sauce , like Mrs. Richardson and keep it warm in a fondue pot). Put a spoon with the pot...
  8. I have Celiac disease - I do not have " a few days of a lot of Gluten filled foods". Eating gluten on purpose would be an act of extreme self-hate/self harming.
  9. Celiac disease is not an allergy.
  10. you need to be eating gluten to be tested for Celiac. you might look at what you are eating. Often, when people go gluten-free, they change their diet drastically - more fiber, less fiber, etc.
  11. If I am rembering correctly, Marsh 4 is the worst damage. So he should avoid dairy products like cheese, milk, butter, cows milk ice cream for a couple of months. celiac damages the tips of the villa that help to digest lactose ( which is in most dairy). Being unable to digest dairy will lead to more bloating, gas, etc..
  12. What are they doing a CT for? celiac intestinal damage won't show on a CT so I am gueessing they suspect some other problem?
  13. I drink Gatorade occasionally and I am fine with it. Some of them contain artificial sweeteners that may cause people, Celiac or not, issues. Its not like you need Gatorade. So if you think it bothers you, don't drink it.
  14. Probiotics are not food products and are not governed by the same laws.
  15. Those are not food products.
  16. If you have Celiac, you would want a clean grill or piece of foil. Pieces of flour tortilla will stick to the grill and then transfer onto your corn tortilla. Same with grilled sandwiches.
  17. Were you officially diagnosed with Celiac Disease at the time she wrote that? And, if so, for how long were you diagnosed & gluten-free but still complaining of those symptoms?
  18. If you look at her profile, you will see she hasn't been on the forum since 2009. I doubt you will get an answer from her.
  19. non Celiac gluten sensitivity can vary, I suppose. celiac disease is always " severe". Less than 20 ppm has been established as the highest amount of accidental gluten that may be safe. But we aim for 0. I don't really understand your comments about " the certification standards for gluten free facilities". If the facility is certified...
  20. It seems different things are allowed on different versions of paleo diet. Some flours I think are allowed on some versions - arrowroot, tapioca, plantain, chestnut, and tiger nut. edit - some allow buckwheat, if I remember right
  21. I have my baseball bat ready!
  22. It could be anything. There is a lot of ingredient s in both things - so it's hard to tell what might be an issue. Could even be something else because people do vomit for many reasons. the best way to know if a food has gluten is to read the ingredients for your self before she consumes the food.
  23. Here are the ingredients from the Popsicle Brand page for plain Popsicles . No wheat mentioned. Open Original Shared Link This box contains the following flavors: Orange, Cherry, Grape Ingredients: Orange Pop: water, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, sugar, contains 1 percent or less of each of the following: malic acid, citric acid,...
  24. You are just repeating someone's blog? I thought you said you had found Popsicles with wheat in them. Other than something with a crunchy coating or " cookies and cream", I have never seen a Popsicle with wheat. And those are more like an ice cream bar. I thought you you had actually seen some Popsicles with wheat and could share the brand...
