  1. Laennie, thank you for all the suggestions. I'll have to check about the pregnancy support group thing, I don't really know how to find out about it, but i'll start with my midwife. I have started to journal, as so many of you suggested it. I have tried it before, but was never very good at it. I have a hard time getting everything that I'm feeling out...
  2. Lisa, thanks for your post - for being so understanding. I definitely don't find too many people who seem to understand how I am feeling with all of this. About the blood work. Unfortunately my doctor never did any blood work. I was diagnosed with biopsy after an endoscopy. If I had known better at the time I would have had him do the blood work too so...
  3. Tarnalberry - Thanks for the advice and for sharing some of your experience. I just met with a different midwife last week and I think she will definitely be a better fit than the previous provider I was with. Every time I've had a baby I keep changing things in the hopes that I will have a better experience than the previous times. My new midwife has been...
  4. Hi, I already posted about the yoga thing. I would like to try it, but I don't think it's possible for me to take a class right now. Under the circumstances would you suggest any kind of video? (I know you were very adamant about taking a class though) I would like to talk with a counselor or therapist, I have anxiety about that too, but if I found a good...
  5. Thank you all, for replying. You all mentioned yoga - I have thought that I would like to try it, but I have been unsure how to go about it in my situation. I know that a class would be ideal, however, I am unable to drive myself because of having unresolved vision problems from having celiac. Not to mention we have very limited financial resources (my...
  6. I think both issues are a total possible side effect of Celiac. Untreated Celiac disease can and does mess with hormones and all other functions of the body. With my first three full term pregnancies I was horribly nauseated. I dry heaved and threw up a lot and it always lasted at least till 20 weeks if not several more. Even after the worst of it was...
  7. I don't feel like I have anyone that I can talk with about this who will understand, so I thought I'ld share with you all and see if anyone else has had a similar experience or some good advice. And, please - no harsh remarks or judgment. I can't handle that right now. Okay, here we go... I have been gluten free for a little over 16 months and my recovery...
  8. If I were in your shoes, and wanted the endo to be as accurate as possible, then I would schedule the appointment for 3 months away and start eating - at the very least - the equivalent to 4 slices of bread a day, probably more. I think that would be your best bet for getting the most accurate results as possible. If you think that it will take you more...
  9. I was diagnosed through biopsy from an endoscopy procedure. All of my symptoms became worse after going gluten free. (I had similar symptoms as you) I finally heard about going grain free and found out about the Specific Carbohydrate diet. I had been gluten free for almost a year when i started the SCD and I started to see signs of improvement within the...
  10. I think it's really wise of you to slowly transition into the Paleo/SCD life, because it is quite a drastic diet change and if you aren't feeling very well, it's really hard to feel good enough to cook all your own foods. I agree that it's really nice to have the gluten free convenience foods like pasta and the bread when it's just too hard to make your...
  11. I just posted a comment under the name gfSarah. I'm afraid after I posted I saw that I was a little long winded and preachy, but, oh well. I wish people would be more understanding and encouraging about what we have to do to stay healthy. It's not like it's easy or something we do just cause we want to.
  12. I agree, all the specialty foods are very over priced and usually don't taste good. I eat mostly whole foods and do my own baking with almond flour and coconut flour (which, by the way, are so much better than all the other gluten-free flours out there and you don't have to use any gums - and they don't get dry and crumbly like all that other stuff), it's...
  13. Precious, what diet are you on? I am grain free too and I think I am finally starting to see a little progress in my health after being gluten-free for 15 months and not getting any better. I started the SCD about 3 and a half months ago. How long have you been grain free?
  14. I'm so sorry that your friends responded in this way. I don't know what people are thinking when they say such ignorant things such as what your friend said to you. I come across responses like this too - I'm sure I would more, but I am pretty much secluded from people right now, but they still say really discouraging things. Try to remember that they...
  15. I just took a look at this recipe and it looks like it's almost the same as one my sister tried, but the one she made called for Agave instead of sugar. She said they turned out really good and it was an easy recipe to make. When I talk to her this week I'll try to remember and ask her where she got the recipe and I'll post it as soon as I can. She...
  16. That's a wise doctor - very rare to find! (as far as this disease goes anyway )
  17. I just left a message in your other thread, but incase you don't see it: All three of my children have Celiac. Both my parents and I along with one of my three sisters also have Celiac.
  18. I have Celiac (diagnosed with biopsy) and all three of my children also have it. They were not formally diagnosed, but we found through eliminating gluten and then reintroducing it. They are 5, 3 and 1 years old and we decided to not put them through all the testing because it is easy to get false negatives with young children. Also, both my parents and...
  19. I agree too. I know that I have reacted through these types of exposures and I think that my children have too.
  20. Hi there! I have left some comments on some of your other posts about your 2yr old. Anyway, I just thought that i would mention that two of my kids started having reactions to something (gluten) when they were around three weeks old. I was nursing them 100 percent. When the problems first started with my daughter I tried eliminating the top 8 allergens...
  21. Oh, I am so sorry. You must be having a really hard time, but keep persevering for answers. Two of my children have had some disturbing things happen and had been in ill health since they were only a couple of weeks old. The doctors just kept saying every thing was fine and that maybe i just needed to do something a little differently. But I knew that...
  22. Yes. Exactly! This is where I think some people are more, and some people are less sensitive - some will react to such small amounts of CC that you can't see it, while others seem to not react until they ingest a little more.
  23. I have steared clear of their products for the reasons that you are hesitant. I wouldn't want to risk it - especially if you have anaphalactic (spelling?) reactions. It's not worth being sick or going to the ER to find out.
  24. I just wanted to say that I agree with Dilettantesteph. Some people really are more sensitive to gluten than others. When I was very new to this - only a couple of months into the diet, I didn't yet know how sensitive people could be. One night my daughter (who also has Celiac) was playing with a neighbor friend and I looked over to see what she was doing...
