  1. My DD was confirmed Celiac in April and has been Gluten free since. She has always had more than average gas, I attributed it to gluten. Well gluten free 7 months now and still lots of gas. More than the average kid. The typical gas producing foods are NOT prevalent in her diet. ie : cabbage, broccoli etc.. she does not have more than average amount...
  2. Only 1 celiac in our household of 3. We are 95% gluten free. The only thing with gluten are Bread, crackers , some noodles and soups. All of these are kept completely separate from all other foods . examples 1 drawer in frig( veggie bin) is designated for Gluten breads and such 1 shelf in cabinet (top shelf) for noodles, crackers, soup or snack...
  3. I have made muffins and cookies. You have to be exact in her recipes NO substitutions. They are good but I find the flour mixes to be a tiny bit gritty. If you can get superfine rice flour they would be better. I find King Arthur flour superior but her recipes cannot be substituted because they are so exact. At least according to her they are, I asked about...
  4. That is the reason I refused to have Thanksgiving or Christmas at my house this year. I was able to pack a gluten-free meal and snacks for my dd and not have to worry about it. I if I demanded no gluten they wouldn't of come anyway so it was no gluten food or have it at your house. They wanted gluten so they hosted it worked out fine.
  5. Cobb salad with julienne ham slices or ham salad sandwich or deviled eggs. The last ones a stretch I know.
  6. I think Amy's makes a allergen free frozen pizza you just have to cook in the oven. It should not contaminate more than the oven rack, and you can wipe that off when it cools.
  7. Anyone find a good APP for their phine for product listing of gluten-free foods. I use the handbook by Univ of Illinois Celiac disease center. It's fabulous but I would rather not carry it if my iphone can do the same
  8. Thanks, I guess I should of looked for their recipe.
  9. There is a gluten-free brand called Mi-Del we like. Very close to Oreo's but not exactly the same.
  10. Can you use Kinnikinnik smoreables?
  11. You could do a gluten-free rice krispie treat, note on recipe card to use reg. rice krispies and jazz it up with crushed peppermint candy, choc. chips, p.butter chips or cinnamon. Trail mixes using chex cereals and dried fruit with chocolate or go to chex website they have many different kinds of treats to do. Appetizer: chicken tenders coated with...
  12. Hello, Has anyone successfully made choc chip cookies using KA flour? I have the flour and want to use it but my first attempt subbing exactly for the tollhouse recipe did not work. They basically melted on the cookie sheet. Thanks.
  13. My DD was diagnosed in April both blood and endoscopy confirmed. We had a nutritionist mtg and have followed up cholesterol and healthy lifestyle (DD has very high BMI) visits with Pedi since last mtg with Gastr doc.in May. Are we supposed to do follow up blood work for Celiac because I haven't heard from that doc since diagnosis. Am I supposed to be...
  14. Oscar Mayer : Turkey, Bologna or hot dogs Progresso : chicken and rice, Lentil and clam chowder soups Tostito's tortilla round chips can be used with salsa, guacamole, scooping up soup , layer mini sandwiches or just melt cheese on them If you can borrow a crock pot you can cook meat and rice and veggies at same time and have leftovers for heating...
  15. Sorry this is not on your list, but... King Arthurs gluten-free flour has so far worked cup for cup as a really great substitute for cookies. I am going to make muffins with it this weekend. Yes it's more money but less bags of stuff less measuring and definitely better tasting. I stocked up when it went on sale so I will have plenty.
  16. I have chopped gluten-free Oats for just this reason and it does work OK. There's a bit of a bite to them but not bad. I like all but the soft butter as an adhesive for this recipe , if I did it I would use PB or olive oil.
  17. My thought is, if you have to question it, get rid of it.
  18. This bread machine does have a gluten free cycle. I see this is on sale at Amazon, check the reviews, there are over 400 of them many statements re:gluten free.
  19. Did your doc do a full blood work on him? What he deficient in any vitamin ? I read leg and arm pain were associated with low iron and/or magnesium. There is a whole other thread on the internet with conversations about it. Ask your doc and make sure you child is getting his vitamins anyway, Its really important for Celiac's. good luck
  20. My DD used it during her tests and results were positive.
  21. IMHO Keep her Gluten, dairy and corn free for 6+ months. Then slowly introduce 1 back into her diet (start with dairy) and see how she does for a few weeks. It will be apparent if she is still intolerant to it. It is unlikely a person will outgrow their Gluten intolerance but NOT impossible. The corn and dairy might be a different story. My girl had...
  22. Hi and welcome, Every persons recovery is different. That being said :-) My 7 yr old DD stopped having severe belly pains within 3-4 days but it took a good 2 months for them to stop completely along with the constipation she had for 1 1/2 years. I stopped all Miralax and Milk of Magnesia immediately and haven't touched it since and she's been gluten...
  23. We can't do Enjoy life, Kinnikinnick, GLutino or specialty gluten-free products ( cost for an entire classroom is pricey) but most other idea's will work, thanks.
