  1. I wonder if using coconut flour or almond flour or another bean flour would give it the same strength? I am not very fond of the flavor of bean flours however (with the exception of chickpea flour). They leave a metallic taste in my mouth. I know that's a personal thing though (just like pizza crust preferences! ) And some people love bean flours.
  2. Could you please share your recipe for kimchi? I would love to make it but have never found a recipe withotu fish sauce. I'm allergic to shellfish (including anchovies) and it's almost impossible to find shellfish-free fish sauce. I Would love it if I could just make kim chi without the fish sauce. I am trying to eat more natural probiotic foods too....
  3. Welcome to the board. Your drs were ignorant about celiac testing. You must be on gluten in order to be tested or the test will be negative. However, now that you are pregnant you should not go back to eating gluten. If you are celiac it could harm the baby. If your OBGYN is not respecting your wishes to be gluten-free then find a new one. There should...
  4. It looks like your TTG and EMA were positive. Those are the more specific tests and very accurate when positive. Don't go gluten free until you see your GI dr as he may want to do an endoscopy to confirm.
  5. No worries! I just didn't want you to go to the trouble of typing it all up again. I added the links to the first post after I made the thread.
  6. Love2travel, the recipe that you posted a while back (with the defatted soy flour) is in one of the links I put in the first post. Just copy and paste the recipe to this thread if you want That one by GFgoddess look yummy!
  7. Just mopped my floors and waiting for them to dry. Can't leave the computer until they do. I might as well do something useful.
  8. Pre-made crusts I've tried: Knickkinick: Comes frozen in a little four pack of small rectangular crusts. I did not care for these at all. They had the consistency and flavor of drywall to me. they didn't get crispy but were not really soft either. Okay for an emergency pizza craving if you can top with a ton of toppings and eat with a fork (they...
  9. There was discussion on another thread of pizza crusts and I thought perhaps we could start a thread to keep all the info in one place. So here it is! Share which pre-made crusts, pre-made pizzas, crust mixes and recipes you have tried and what the results were. Costs and how labor intensive is a good thing to share too. I'll share mine with my first...
  10. I don't mind, but perhaps we need to start a pizza review thread where we can list all the pizza crusts we have tried and which ones were best. I'll start one if nobody else is inclined to. ETA: Pizza crust thread started here:
  11. I didn't care for the kinnikinnick crusts either. They just have no flavor to me. Udi's also makes crusts. I have read on a few blogs where people cut the Udi's crusts into several pieces to make a gluten-free pizza "lunchable" option for sending to school. Or if you have found a good homemade crust recipe you can always bake, cut into pieces and...
  12. I understand! I eat very few of these processed gluten-free products. I only have a sandwich or a piece of toast probably once a month but it takes a long time for me to get up the courage to try new products. I don't really understand when people say "I ate the whole package and now I'm sick". The first time I try a new product I eat one piece and then...
  13. I'm very sensitive to cc but I have not had any trouble with Rudi's gluten-free bread. We have had a similar discussion on this board before on Udi's. Some people get a reaction to Udi's but don't react to other things made with the same ingredients. It's a bit of a mystery but I suspect it's actually the amount and combination of the ingredients that...
  14. Okay I just looked up protracted benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome. All of the symptoms you mention are associated with it. I think you need to go back to your dr and tell them you are still experiencing these withdrawal symptoms and it is messing with your ability to eat. I'm not a big advocate of goign on drugs but you may need soemthign to counteract...
  15. That reaction sounds a lot like a blood sugar issue such as hypoglycemia. How often are you eating and are you eating protein (meat or beans) along with the fruit or veggies? Are you keeping track of your daily calorie intake and making sure you get enough healhty fats? I can't imagine how that they could be damaging your intestines based on those...
  16. Sorry! Hope you can get home safely and rest soon. I can't even function when I have a migraine. I wouldn't be able to drive. Keeping the sun shield up as long as you can and keeping your sun glasses on may help. Drink lots of cold water if you can (heat and dehydration can make them worse.) I hope the tylenol works for you!
  17. Have you had any testing done? What happened when you ate the sandwich? The symtpoms could take up to 3 days to return if they are gluten related but if you had an immediate reaction you know... Unfortuantely, how long to see results depends completely on the person. You symptoms are certainly symptoms some of us have experienced but they are not the most...
  18. Sorry you're struggling with migraines from the withdrawl. When I get a migraine nothing helps except to lay in a dark room with a cold compress over my eyes. I take tylenol PM and sleep if I can. It's been a long time since I had to do that however so do make sure Tylenol PM is gluten-free.
  19. Is there some reason why you want to do that diet in particular? Are you sure that ALL fruits and veggies bother you? Often we can tolerate cooked veggies better than raw. Or you may only have trouble with nightshades. And if you think the trouble with fruit is fructous you may be able to get away with sticking to lower fructose fruits such as berries...
  20. When I eat out I try to ask those questions before hand. There is no question that your son got glutened from the non-gluten-free Rice Krispies. Whether he also got it from the restaurant is hard to guess. It's possible though. Good gluten-free pizza places will use premade crust, prep the crust in a differnt room from where the regular crusts are made...
  21. It's okay girl! I'm with you on gluten being poison, but sometimes you need to learn all the details before you pounce on someone. This a friendly board--we try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Some people do come here and admit they can't stop eating gluten (or can't stop their kids from sneakign it) even though it makes them sick. Those people...
  22. Well first I have to actually FIND it, lol! But I have seen a lot of Glutino products in my stores so maybe I will find some. I just stopped checkign the ingredietns because they all had soy flour last I checked.
  23. Actually if it only says "may contain soy" I may try it. Thanks for typing out the ingredients!
  24. Thanks for the review! I've never heard of it but then all the Glutino products I have seen have soy flour in them so I might have overlooked it. Can you tell me if it has soy?
