ARCHIVED gluten-free For 6 Years, Worse Than Ever. Help! New Person Here: )salexander421 replied to gluteymommy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I am also one of the super sensitive ones. I am grain free, refined sugar free, starch free, and just started eating homemade yogurt but otherwise dairy free. So, I eat pretty much no processed foods. If I do buy something processed I email companies and ask about shared lines and facility, I try to stick to items/brands that I know I tolerate but even that...

ARCHIVED 4 Year Old Bloatingsalexander421 replied to evman99's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Yes, if they've already tested for celiac then I would definitely do a gluten free trial. If after a couple weeks you don't see any changes I would also suggest taking all dairy out and see how that goes.

ARCHIVED Gluten & Allergen Free Kids Shampoosalexander421 replied to CaylumandJoshua's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs We just started using one of Chagrin Valley's shampoo bars and really like it! We're using the olive and babassu one.

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Been Glutened From gluten-free Chicken Broth?salexander421 replied to shayre's topic in Super Sensitive People We recently started reacting to pacific brand, haven't tried the imagine brand. We now make our own too and it is so economical. I buy our chickens for $1.59/lb, a whole chicken is usually around $6 or $7. I usually get about 12 cups of stock from the one chicken plus the meat...pacific chicken stock is usually close to $4 for 4 cups! And, the homemade stuff...

ARCHIVED Scd Birthday Cakesalexander421 replied to Hailiesmom08's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs Specific carbohydrate diet, works on healing the gut. Check out Breaking the Vicious Cycle. GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) is another one that is very similar to SCD but a little more updated and also works on healing the gut...this is what we're going to follow this time around since it seems to fit us a little better.

ARCHIVED Scd Birthday Cakesalexander421 replied to Hailiesmom08's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs Yes, paleo is very similar to SCD and possibly even more restricted because of the exclusion of legumes as well. I'm actually thinking about starting over and getting back on the intro of SCD/GAPS...we've been having some new allergy symptoms and I think I rushed SCD and didn't let our guts heal completely. Plus we didn't do so well during the holidays so...

ARCHIVED Scd Birthday Cakesalexander421 replied to Hailiesmom08's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs We did great on it! I did it along with my two daughters. We probably only did it for about 6 months or so but our symptoms were not severe. We continue to eat a paleo diet which is grain, dairy, legume, and refined sugar free. So, not so different then SCD. The only thing we struggled with on SCD was the yogurt part. I think we all have casein allergies...

ARCHIVED Scd Birthday Cakesalexander421 replied to Hailiesmom08's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs We usually do cupcakes instead. If your daughter can do coconut flour these are pretty good Open Original Shared Link It's been a little while since we did SCD so I can't remember if apple cider vinegar is allowed but this recipe looks good and uses almond flour Open Original Shared Link I personally prefer the denseness of the almond flour stuff but...

I know they are both autoimmune disorders so I know someone can obviously have both. I'm wondering if there is any literature that states the percentage of people with Hashimoto's who have Celiac as well? My Mom, her twin sister, and my cousin (mom's twin sister's daughter)all have hashimoto's. My mom and cousin are both on a gluten free diet but are not...

Living with a gluten eater is a nightmare for the super sensitive! In our house the only one who is not gluten free is my husband. We tried having a mixed household but there was so much tension from me being on his back all the time about what and where he was eating. Even with me watching him like a hawk we were still having severe CC issues so we collectively...

Check out www.supernutritionusa.com and see if theirs would work for you. I took their Simply One Prenatal and didn't seem to have any issues with it. It states that it "contains no gluten, wheat, yeast, buckwheat, sugar, pollen, dairy, corn or soy residues or any hidden additives.

ARCHIVED 3.5 Yr Old Daughter May Have Celiac?salexander421 replied to tinab3girls's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My daughter had this same problem, she would wake up crying and screaming. I would try to calm her down and she would look at me like she didn't even know who I was or what was going on, it was heartbreaking to watch! I would just hold her and comfort her until she calmed down and went back to sleep. Doesn't happen when we're strict gluten free but if she...

ARCHIVED Freaking Out, Can't Figure Out What's Causing Itchies In My Sonsalexander421 replied to amberskids's topic in Super Sensitive People Thanks for the tips! Might try the mix as cashews are also a lot more expensive My daughter has always struggled more with constipation so I wouldn't be too concerned with it causing loose stools but would definitely watch out for this. Thanks!

ARCHIVED A Little Gross, Sorry. But, Anyone React With....salexander421 replied to salexander421's topic in Super Sensitive People Thanks for all your help! Yeah, that's pretty much what I've read too but I would think if it were Crohn's or UC it wouldn't respond quickly to dietary change so I'll wait it out for a few days...getting back to normal eating as of today so we'll see how it goes. I'm guessing it goes away in a couple days Thank you!

ARCHIVED A Little Gross, Sorry. But, Anyone React With....salexander421 replied to salexander421's topic in Super Sensitive People I did eat some ghirrardelli (spelling?) chocolate chips which I know are supposed to be gluten free but do say "may contain dairy". I have an issue with dairy that is quite possibly an allergy, could a dairy allergy cause this? I know my daughter had blood and mucous from dairy as a baby but not sure if this happens in adults too, it seems pretty common with...

ARCHIVED A Little Gross, Sorry. But, Anyone React With....salexander421 replied to salexander421's topic in Super Sensitive People No constipation or hemorrhoid's to speak of, not really regular but still going. I've seen the mucous before but never streaked with blood so it kinda freaked me out. It is bright red though. With the holidays this week I have not been very careful about my eating (still eating gluten free but have eaten gluten free stuff I normally avoid and also have eaten...

ARCHIVED Freaking Out, Can't Figure Out What's Causing Itchies In My Sonsalexander421 replied to amberskids's topic in Super Sensitive People Yup, still won't drink it. I think it tasted great! I haven't given up yet though I've never tried cashew milk but wondering if she might take to it a little better, maybe a milder taste? Might try it once I can get my hands on some raw cashews.

ARCHIVED What Do You Eat For Breakfast?salexander421 replied to GFreeMO's topic in Super Sensitive People Thanks for the advice We have been definitely eating more of it then normal with the holidays, lots of baking! It may be one of those things we can tolerate a little but not a lot of. Yesterday I made a lot with almond flour and I definitely noticed something with me and my oldest but not so much with our youngest who is usually the more sensitive one but...

ARCHIVED Freaking Out, Can't Figure Out What's Causing Itchies In My Sonsalexander421 replied to amberskids's topic in Super Sensitive People Are any of these new besides the coconut milk? We had issues with Silk brand coconut milk and almond milk. Also had problems with envirokids cereal. Has he eaten the Udi's before? We had problems with Udi's breads. Hope you get it figured out! I know it's frustrating, try keeping a food journal until you get it figured out.

ARCHIVED Freaking Out, Can't Figure Out What's Causing Itchies In My Sonsalexander421 replied to amberskids's topic in Super Sensitive People I didn't know this about the carageenan and coconut, thank you for this info! This could very well be why my daughter is getting itchy and her rash is flaring up, she drinks a lot of almond milk that has carageenan in it. Still trying to figure out a way to get her to drink homemade almond milk, she doesn't seem to like the taste. And, I was thinking coconut...

ARCHIVED What Do You Eat For Breakfast?salexander421 replied to GFreeMO's topic in Super Sensitive People I'm not sure, sorry. I do know that I ordered the 25lbs and it came straight from the almond flour supplier Hughson Nut but I've been so busy I haven't looked them up yet. We've always seemed to do fine with the almond flour but we went without for a while because of cost. We've been eating it now for a week and my daughter's rash is popping up so I'm not...
