  1. Yvonne- so so sorry to hear that... i can't imagine losing my brother. i am saying a prayer for you today... it is strange...a friend of mine lost her son about 2 weeks ago from a motorcycle accident, he was probably close to your brother's age. hope you can draw hope from fond memories of him...
  2. dang Tiffany--calling you names? why can't all people just have good basic social and conflict skills? too much to ask i guess! overall, i am also pretty pleased with how people respond here. and the point of this board, at least in my mind, is to be helping others...not pushing any other sort of agenda. good thoughts....
  3. have you had a work up to check for deficiencies such as iron? anemia caused me additional fatigue and symptoms such as chewing ice and restless leg syndrome. i have been gluten-free for 8 mos, and i am still very tired. i actually felt more energized before going gluten-free! the celiac nurse i work with has mentioned that it can take up to 2 years to...
  4. if you think it might be chocolate...some can not tolerate it well. i am one of those... my other thoughts were also have you switched food, meds, products or eaten at a friends house recently? any new stress in your life? other food intolerances are also a possiblity. you could keep a food journal and try and track symptoms and see if they correlate...
  5. i tried acupuncture pre diagnosis, when i was going to this wholistic type doctor. it didn't help me, but my bro-in-law swears by it for his back.
  6. uh oh! i ordered mine online...maybe some else knows??
  7. nettie- argyria is where your skin turns gray. yeah, weird! the case against collodial silver is that phenomenon. i haven't given in and tried it yet...but my dh has used it many times, and a few friends have as well, and none of them have gotten argyria. i think that really becomes an issue when someone is taking long doses of it over a period of...
  8. nettie beds-- what are your other diver. symptoms? do you get pain? do all the seeds etc pass through?
  9. mighty morg- i was also diagnosed with IBS initially...that's a common misdiagnosis for celiac. i also took zelnorm, helped for a little while. you do have some celiac symptoms...and it is definitely a possibility. have your gi doc run the simple blood test for celiac--that is a pretty easy way to rule it out or decide if more investigation is necessary...
  10. all about the rice milk...i can't do soy or dairy. i love wild oat's and whole food's rice milk the best. since you have a whole foods--i'd start with their brand of rice milk.
  11. you're not an idiot! and its great for you to say thanks to her!
  12. well, its not a cure, but acidophilus...it has definitely helped me in many ways. i used to take echinacea, it always kept me from getting sick. (don't take it now, bad with active autoimmunes however...) colloidal silver--anyone here use it? i am not endorsing it here, so don't run out and get it, apparently some people will get argyria from it....
  13. Shelton's has a gluten-free chicken and rice you can get at a wild oats or whole foods type store.
  14. i am taking a liquid multi and a few other supplements depending on the day. it can take a while for the internal healing to occur...so it doesn't hurt. i also try and take a magnesium/malic acid for my fibromyalgia symptoms too.
  15. that stinks...good to know before i ordered them though! maybe celiac needs the green ribbon idea...i wonder if green is already taken ? ooo, teal...that would be pretty bluelotus--sounds like you need to turn that bracelet into an arm band ! or a choker perhaps ?

  19. Yes, note that Stonyfield only says plain yogurt is gluten-free. I am guessing since you are buying walmart brand, you are looking for a lower priced yogurt. Stonyfield is going to be more... Yoplait is a good brand--they say all their yogurts are gluten-free. Note--Dannon does not say that.
  20. oh, and i just saw this article with tips to help you sleep today... it has some good ideas. Open Original Shared Link
  21. sam, below is some info on a few easy gluten-free meal ideas, and links to some gluten-free food lists. you will get the hang of it soon and come up with a new repetoire of gluten-free foods. there is a ton of room to be creative while being gluten-free. since you are into food, perhaps you should ck out some gluten-free recipes. there are a host on this...
  22. on symptoms... my constipation was the first to improve, after several months of gluten-free. brain fog, fatigue and fibromyalgia type pain are still present at 8 mos gluten-free. i have had more energy the past 2 weeks...so hopefully i'm turning a corner!
  23. First off, one month is probably only making a dent in your recovery. Have patience... I work with a nurse who has Celiac, and she says 2 years is often how long it takes for total healing. I have been gluten-free for 8 months and have had some improvement, but still have not seen much improvement in muscle pain and energy levels. It will take your body...
  24. Lola- Please visit this current link on book recommendations, below. I also recommend you read what other members have to say about the Gluten Free Bible on this thread. Quite a few people here feel it has misinformation in it and caution others on reading it. I have never heard compliants on Danna Korn's book. Open Original Shared Link
  25. i was going to suggest trying to exchange it. coolio girl!
