  1. I was just recently diagnosed and my pharmacist was very accommodating about checking all my meds for gluten.. He called me back in 20 min and asked if I had a problem with corn and I said no. He said good because some of mine have corn starch in them.. Now that took him a total of 10-15 min he said and he was very happy to do it for me. I get my meds...
  2. I was not a colicky baby but had digestive issues from about 6 yrs old on.
  3. Thank you for this message and the cookie recipe. I'm new to this too and the first week I was like a soldier... I CAN DO ANYTHING lol but now that the newness and maybe fear has worn off a bit, I'm needing help to find things to eat.. I know the whole foods, we were eating those before celiac came along but replacing the pasta, cereal and bread has been...
  4. Thank you for your story, I'm a newbie diagnosed 11 days ago. I've been on the gluten free diet since 11/08/10 and I feel pretty good already. Still some pain in my belly but the doc said that would take time to heal. I'm happy to see that if I stick with this, regardless of how hard it is right now maybe just maybe I can get MY life back. Seeing...
  5. Hello people... Judy has a blue tongue tonight LOL Went with guy friend (too old for boyfriends huh?) to his sisters birthday and there was cake... of course not gluten free and my first experience at such an event since the big diagnosis 11 days ago... but he's such a guy and felt guilty eating it in front of me so he fed me blue frosting balloons off...
  6. I'll do some checking around town and see if there are any already in flight. My insurance won't pay for the dietician unless it's diabetes or eating disorder related but fortunately (for this once) I have diabetes as well so I'm going to tell them to bill it under diabetes training so it gets paid. It really is because I have to learn how to eat all...

    ARCHIVED Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2005 and could hardly walk. I stopped using Aspartame (Equal sweetener) and the symptoms went away almost entirely in 2008. I also started getting sicker with the stomach issues over the last 2 years and it seemed to be coming back.. I've been gluten free for only 10 days now and the aches and pains are gone. I...
  8. I used to be a caterer I'll figure this out and send u all the receipe..

  10. Still working at this time of day now that's a joke!! Eating an apple to pacify by hungry belly. Did someone say cake? I need to learn how to make gluten free cake.. mmmmmmmm
  11. Good Morning all, wow what a late night last night. I actually had a date!! (No not with my doctor LOL) Went to the casino and played with my mad money and we had a blast. Got to bed at 1:00am (CST) and I'm up already... yawn! Funny to people watch at the casino... some of the people there are hilarious... hmmm wonders if people think that of...
  12. oh not my cats... they will join in and we'll have to vacuum up another white cat.. they multiply with no eyes, ears, or tail but it's white fur.. I can tell. Their names are Dill and Sage. I was into herbs the year they were born.
  13. Thanks Loey, I've been addicted to humor since I can remember. Like the time my Dad made my Mom so mad that she threw a plate of spaghetti at him and he ducked and it hit her 'brand new' white curtains.. I laughed for days over that one and I was only 7 LOL
  14. Hello everyone in the funny room I'm new to this place and need a few laughs so my only friend here (she sobs uncontrollably) GFinDC invited me on over where the crazy people live. I think I'm going to like it here... Talked to my doctor again to day (sheesh I think he's in love with me or something he calls every day) and couldn't help but remember the...
  15. LOL that was my first smile of the day and a much needed one as well... thank you GFinDC!
  16. Thanks for your support. I read through that list of yours and I think I've been diagnosed with about half of those things if not more over the years but no one every put it all together.. But you're right. Now I know and I can move on gluten free! Look out world this DQ2 woman is coming and it ain't gonna be pretty!!! (picturing myself as a super...
  17. Finding out today that I have the DQ2 gene hit me like a ton of bricks. I don't know if before it didn't seem real but today talking to the doctor and realizing that this was for life made me hit the wall. I'm scared I think because even though it sounds easy to someone that doesn't have this it's not easy to stay gluten free and give up everything that...
  18. Yay Wisconsin!! Oshkosh isn't so far!! We could meet in Appleton! Oh wait it snows there too... lol we could meet in Appleton in the summer
  19. Well I got the results of my genetic tests today. Positive for DQ2 and DQ6 (whatever that is) but negative for DQ8.. so I guess I'm officially a member of the club now...
  20. If there isn't a group we should start one because I'm in Green Bay too and newly diagnosed.
  21. Thanks. My new word for this week is 'patience', I feel so much better in just a week that I guess I'd like it all to be gone... wouldn't we all! I have been keeping a food diary and I did notice that pain isn't necessarily worse with certain foods, it's with amounts! I didn't eat much for 2 months and my stomach is probably having fits that it can...
  22. I agree on the flame monster eating radioactive eggs.. LOL Strange things they do to us huh? I survived and I seem to be digesting my food now, most of it anyway... time I know, I need time for this to get better... I like immediate results but in this case I need to be patient. gritting my teeth.. LOL One thing I've maintained over the years...
  23. My goodness it seems as though we all have been through the same feelings of being dismissed by doctors. I can't believe it took this long to diagnose me too. I've been made to feel like a hypochondriac since I was a teenager. I had a needless hysterectomy two years ago because I was doubled over with cramps that felt like labor, after - still had...
  24. Thanks Mushroom, I have started taking a probiotic as they had me on antibiotics for 10 days and they were powerful ones. They did the pancreatic enzyme tests on me a while back as they thought I had pancreatitis at first. It's only been a week so I'm going to just let it run it's course and see what happens in the next few weeks.
