  1. I just saw an allergist last week, what he told me was skin testing is not very accurate for food allergys . Skin testing is more for environmental ( dust, mold ect..) allergys. My allergist did blood work to test me for food allergys. I am hoping that he knows what he is talking about. The test results are not back yet Hopeful some of the others...
  2. cat poo or soy if I had to make a choice
  3. I believe the reason they tell you to fast for 12 hours before hand is so that your stomach is empty. Being "backed up" may be uncomfortable but wont effect your endoscopy . Now a colonoscopy is a whole other story ( or end )
  4. I also am in the process of being tested,,,,definitely stressful

  11. My PCP Only tested for the gliadin AB (IGA), (TTG) AB,IGA and IGA,SERUM All came in within negative or normal ranges Because I was gluten free My new doc is looking at the genetics , I believe it is the DQ2 and DQ8 to see if it is possible that I have celiacs,, we agreed that with everything else going on doing a gluten challenge is not a good idea...
  12. I am not diagnosed . I have been gluten free for about 18 months and still am having some problems . I insisted my PCP ( whom I am about to fire)send me to an endocrinologist (( and an allergist, and gastroenterologists )),,, I take thyroid meds and have some concerns about changes with my thyroid,, So after I INSIST she refer me to an endocrinologist I...
  13. do you have any blood sugar issues ?? the B vitamin deficiencies and blood sugar issues are the first two things I am considering as possible reasons this is occurring for me. I didnt notice it until after being gluten free, but to be honest I was so ill before going gluten free I might not have singled it out from everything else going on.

  16. The intolerances I can deal with .It is the possible anaphylactic reactions that I am concerned about.Once I eliminate that possibility ,hopefully , I can concentrate on healing my gut and eventually eliminating most of the intolerances. If we can at least eliminate the possibility of an anaphylactic reaction the 1 1/2 hour drive ,each way, to see...
  17. The reason I decided to go to an allergist is because when I added eggs and almonds back , I had reactions that concerned me. With eggs, my lips swelled as soon as I put them in my mouth and my nose started itching. With almonds my throat got all scratchy and tight, I felt like someone was sitting on my chest . What is very, very scary is I had...
  18. I was not sure the doc was even listening to me until I started telling him about the elimination diet I have been doing ,He actually turned and looked at me then , and the nurse said to me " good for you" I like nurses more and more doctors I am not to sure about any more
  19. I saw an allergist today. He talked to me ,,briefly and then ordered some blood work. I felt rushed in and out .... anyway,,,,, He said 1.. blood test are more accurate then skin testing for allergys 2.. even though I am not currently eating the foods I am being tested for, it will still show up in the blood test if I am allergic What...
