  1. We saw that Dave, but without any citations, it really has no validity (for me, anyway) I do hope you see our point.
  2. I started a pot roast and veggies crock pot thinger (I love LOVE2TRAVEL's word) this morning before I went to the gym. (yes, I went to the gym the day after major yard work, and after a week of heavy lifting and really, what the heck is going on here? Me, doing physical labor and not wanting to kill myself from the pain??! Healing the gut, collagen supplements...
  3. Looks like you've got "brain frogs" as some gal named Linda once said to me on here. and it looks like your gluten challenge is making things worse (sorry, hon) and it looks like you might be a celiac, Amy. Hang in there. (shall I break out the pom-poms once more?)- Laugh some more:: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/87113-you-might...
  4. I think this is a :sketchy article at best. No bibliography, no sources, no science. Be cautious of random articles about "gluten allergies"--as technically, there is no such thing-on the internet. I've seen some crazy stuff out there.
  5. Not crazy at all! I was THRILLED to learn it was celiac after years of living in hell. It was something treatable and I was not "making things up" and I got to do the "I told ya so" dance! . Believe me, many of us "get that part".
  6. Thank heavens you are emotionally stable. All that flippin; snow? oh man, I'd have gone stark raving mad by now.
  7. Hi Jo Well, they sound like gluten-related symptoms to me. (I had almost all of those, too) but they could also be caused by something else, so it is difficult to say for sure. Here is a list of possible celiac- related symptoms and conditions. Open Original Shared Link I know you are awaiting your test results, so you may wish to read...
  8. well, being gluten free can stop them if that's what is fueling them.. Try to relax now and enjoy your day.
  9. That. dear Jo, sounds like a classic panic attack. They are awful, I know. This is a celiac symptom. I hope you get your results soon. Keep us posted.
  10. Ditto on the toms. But we'll get them back. I can't wait for the corn season here. July. Ditto on the melons--all kinds. Love them!
  11. True, but those moments will not require the arsenal of parkas, boots, scarves, mittens, gloves, heavy sweaters, long johns and hats we own. One coat will suffice.
  12. I don't think seasonal allergies give you a fever, kiddo. The hubs never has a fever with his, but I'll let others pipe in on this one. Maybe you caught a bug of some kind. Sorry. I had one in February. It was not fun, but it passes. Soup, rest, water. ((hug)) Hope you feel better soon.
  13. I eat the Lundberg brown rice cakes sometimes and have never had a problem. (ok, honestly, I think they taste like "nothing" and have the texture of styrofoam, but if you put enough peanut butter and honey on them, they're okay) And yes, eating too many of them without enough water may well give you a C problem. That's a lot of fiber. I am not sure...
  14. I am not the only with saran wrap issues, I see. Bette Hagman rocks! First woman of gluten-free baking. If you do not like her version for any reason, I HIGHLY recommend Peter and Kelli Bronski's pie dough recipe. Flaky, light and rolls out like the real thing. Tastes awesome. When my Mom, the champion flaky pie crust maker of the family ...
  15. Shadow has magic soup, everybody!!!!
  16. I cannot tolerate added MSG or large amounts of it. I have never been able to enjoy Chinese take out like other normal human beings. It gives me a headache, makes me nauseous and I swell up like the Goodyear Blimp. My hands look like baseball mitts (or Mickey Mouse's hands). But, I eat bacon. No, the truth is, I love bacon and the natural-occurring...
  17. With all of my heart, Jo, I really think you should give it a good strict trial. Give it a few months. Some people test negative on blood tests and they are celiacs nonetheless. I know; I am one of them. If your brain MRI is normal and the doctors have no other explanation, odds are pretty good it's gluten.IMHO
  18. This is the same path so many of us on here have walked. Doctors symptom- treat rather than get to the cause of the symptoms. The more you tell me, the more you sound like the rest of us. Open Original Shared Link
  19. Jo, I called this ordeal I suffered for nearly 3 years "my time in gluten head hell". I frequently felt as if I were lost in space. It affected my ability to articulate, comprehend new information and multi-task. My short term memory suffered as well. It is hard to describe, unless you live it. There are many published medical articles that explain the...
  20. Hi and welcome! Stay on gluten until your testing is done for the most accurate results. Once you are finished with all that, may I suggest you start here: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/
  21. I can honestly say I had the same peculiar thing happen to me. I even had to stop driving my car. My reflexes were shot and I felt like a big old nervous nelly. I kept saying to my hubs "what the hell is wrong with me?" I am a very independent person and it felt so crazy to have to rely on him to take me everywhere. I clung to his arm like a child. Totally...
  22. you're adorable, even though you feel like crap. Kudos!
  23. I always felt like hell all day long and I had anxiety and a bit of agoraphobia f develop when I was quite ill before diagnosis (and I am not shy or anxious by nature at all ). It's entirely possible that you are feeling this way from malabsorption and vitamin deficiencies. These symptoms (including panic attacks) are consistent with celiac/ gluten...
  24. Her shirt today would probably read: "This is bull$&#.! "
