  3. I have never found any Pub Med articles that definitively link a soy intolerance to celiac disease. I have looked. Most of the time, anecodotal evidence is the only source I have found. I do not tolerate soy for some reason (and a few other foods) but I have not seen any celiac research that explains why. Dairy is often a secondary intolerance...
  4. She taught me so much about adapting my baking skills to G F baking...come stay with me. I'll fatten you up. She's in upstate NY. I live in FL now. I miss her, but she and I are still close friends. Everyone needs a Sherry Lynn. She's an angel on Earth, giving the G F community the goodies they need.
  5. My friend Sherry Lynn owns a gluten-free bakery and I hold her personally responsible for my weight gain and the expansion of my thighs.
  6. are you sure, because "I HEARD THAT...." yup
  7. I pop, crack, twitch, snap, crunch often and my spine and neck and brain MRIs....show nothing abnormal. Osteopaths, spine specialists, rheumies, and orthopedic docs galore have looked at me and said "You have some significant disc degeneration from OA but your spine is ram rod straight and the noises you make and the pain you have comes from being unDxed...
  8. I have linked this page for spirit walk in the past and already told him that he is spending too much worrying about this issue and I am really surprised to see him starting yet another thread about it. SW We all have joints that pop. You have nothing wrong with your bones and joints. You told me every specialist has told you this, right? now that...
  9. Bacon is essential, nay...dare I say... revered here!!
  10. Thanks...lmao my Dad is saying this right: "who the hell would want to be 90?jaysus, that's old". lmao Thanks the kind of funny/practical guy he was. Maybe I should make some of that sauce for my zoodles? .
  11. You could hang around with me for a week and I suspect you could gain about 5-10 lbs. My mother claims she gains 5 whenever she visits me. maybe it is because she lives it up and eats cookies, flourless chocolate cake, potato chips and nuts--not her usual snack fare. She likes rice cakes. Rice cakes will not help anyone gain weight unless you add peanut...
  12. Don't poke fun at me for not figuring it out. I'm a LOT older than 4.

Ah, this is a never-ending fun ride some days. lol Off for a short walk and some errands myself. Cheers all. I am going with a turkey burger tonight with a side of zoodles...
  15. yes, nothing says "it's great getting to know you" like farts and poop. It's how I bonded with J's mother. yeah, she had a bowel resection surgery and guess what newly wed got to empty her portable potty for her and help her wipe her butt? It wasn't him. And yet, she never could warm up to me. (and that's putting it mildly). Poor grouchy thing.
  16. There are any number of medical issues that could cause those symptoms ( hypertension or diabetes or menopause for example, which obviously does not apply) and he should seek immediate medical care. Celiac may cause any number of symptoms, yes (and possibly those) but it's a great mimic and it is dangerous to assume he felt that way just because he...
  17. I know exactly what you mean. When I first came on here 3.5 years ago, i was not sure who to listen to or what to trust. Forums can be tricky and everyone has an "opinion" Plus, when you are new at this, it is overwhelming and it seems like EVERYTHING is making you feel sick. I quickly learned who was giving me good info and who was a fear-monger. You...
  18. ah yes, the xanthan gum goo mess...sorry, kiddo, but I bet those gnocchi were worth it!!
  19. Plain grass fed beef is not going to contain gluten. I cannot imagine how it could possibly be CCed. If you have a sensitivity to tomatoes and you served the beef in tomato sauce, then that's the more likely culprit. When you have more than one ingredient in the preparation, it is not easy to determine what caused the symptoms. Not everything...
  20. That study also states; "sampling was not large enough to make any assessment on the overall percentage of contaminated product. Sampling also was not large enough to make any inferences on the specific grains, flours, and seeds more or less likely to be contaminated." Note: bold lettering is theirs, not mine
  21. Maria, You mentioned that " Yesterday I had gluten-free protein bar and started feeling sick to my stomach almost immediately, when I read the label it said it contained soy." Soy may very well be causing you some symptoms or it is any number of other ingredients in a packaged product. The only way to tell is to just eat soy--all by itself. Eat...
  22. yes, that tzatziki is going on my lamb kefta later. (although technically, I should call it madzoon because I am part Armenian and that's what my Gramma called yogurt, but you're probably thinking "it's all Greek to me".. ) Now, I want gnocchi with brown butter and sage but I do not have the energy to make both. (that bug is still bugging me...). ...
  23. Now that I am past whatever virus some idjit infected me with, I have an appetite again. I lost a few days and do not appreciate being sidelined like that. hurrumph! I have stuff to do. This week looks like this: M Lamb kefta w/yogurt sauce and rice pilaf and peas T mediterranean pork burgers with balsamic glazed red onions and arugula salad...
