  1. Nothing clings to pans after you give them a good wash, unless it has deep scratches. I never use wooden utensils or cutting boards, "gluten worries "or otherwise. They are porous so they harbor odors and they absorb everything and anything you put on them, including bacteria. You may want to get some heat -resistant silicone utensils.
  2. Good for you !! want me to ship you some corn chex? (you know I will!)
  3. There are people with BOTH celiac and Fibro, I am sure. What I am trying to get across to people is that too often, we are diagnosed with : FMS, CFS, IBS, etc, but the symptoms are the same as those of celiac, so people go undiagnosed for celiac disease based on the doctors who DX one thing at a time and symptom-treat it. This is my experience and that of...
  4. Just to be clear: I am not saying FMS does not exist. Of course it is not in anyone's mind. Pain is real. I am saying that anyone with muscle pain is given this wastebasket diagnosis. If this excess blood vessel discovery is for real, then people who are presumed to have fibro can now be ruled out as FMS sufferers. it's a wonderful diagnostic tool...
  5. that is awesomely sweet of him. Mine did that, too...I did not ask, he just did it. Not everyone needs to do that, of course....but it is an added bonus.
  6. No worries, now...I once had a very short list of "okay" foods....I even managed to get back eggs, which have given me grief for nearly my whole life! and dairy....I lived without cheese, citrus, coffee, etc for nearly a year....got them all back. I still have a few that seem to "argue with me" lol.....but it's okay! I can't tolerate high histamines...
  7. I know I do, which makes me sad...I like tomatoes and a lot of my cooking repertoire involves them too. sigh. maybe in time, you can add them back in! I have been able to get most things back. Hang in there!
  8. Actually, the whole message would not have been removed, just so you know. You could list your ideas here so other vegans could read it too. It would just say something like this: (website removed banned from forum) but the content of your message would remain. Sometimes when I link to a ma zon, it says that.message...so I type it like that...a...
  9. I think Go Picnic has a few vegan options, too. If it makes you feel better, this is my first hurricane season, too...just moved to Florida last fall, so I am working on my own "disaster go-to bag"...as well as the cat's.lol Jules wrote an article about this Open Original Shared Link some of these may be vegan Open Original Shared Link...
  10. Ah yes....the dreaded brain fog (or...as we like to call it "brain FROGS"in honor of a sweet girl who once made a typo in a PM to me ) When I gently pointed out the beauty of her typo and why it was funny, she laughed her head off. Thus, Brain Frogs were born. Hon, You will experience many things as you start you gluten-free life. The healing path...
  11. A "scottie pinwheel." A friend sent me this today...cracked me up. https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/vDa0z0gEvI4?rel=0
  12. omygosh....How on earth did that happen?? I
  13. Only speaking for myself here, but I honestly do not think the thread was "hijacked"...maybe it veered off course a tad, but . I was honestly concerned about Ruth cooking on the floor of a public space. (seems I was not the only one) If Ruth felt hurt by that for some reason, she really shouldn't have--we have taken her under our collective wings since...
  14. My dad had severe anemia and a blood disorder that required periodic blood transfusions for 9 years. My best friend has hemochromatosis and another has thromobocytosis. 2 of those 3 were/are celiacs. Isn't that interesting? yeah, I thought so too. Many in my family have anemia. (I had B-12, folate and iron deficency--all resolved now off gluten and supplemented...
  15. Corn is tough to digest for everyone. I did not eat it the first year post DX, but I can eat it now. Maybe you just need to give it some time.
  16. Thrombocytosis (too many platelets) is more common in celiac patients (according to the Pub med articles I have read) but thrombocytopenia is also connected. Many hematological conditions are associated with celiac disease. Take a look at Pub med...many articles on there. Here are just two. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared...
  17. I just looked and a ma zon has it already.
  18. That is great news. The Glutenfreeda is pricey. I usually just get BRM, but if these are in one serving packs, it would be very helpful for travel. Thank for posting this, K!
  19. I was DXed with osteoarthritis (1999) long before celiac (2010). Unfortunately, autoimmune diseases often travel in packs. Make sure you are getting enough fiber to keep things moving and try to walk and keep your joints mobile by exercising. Yoga is great for arthritis as are pool exercises. Try mixing aTBLS of flaxseed meal in 16 oz. of water...
  20. Hey, Ski's hub is the Tool time guy...don't you love they can make us things like this? me too! That is very cool. forgot to add: making sweet potato wedges with cilantro and lime on the grill to go with those pork burgers....that small bunch of cilantro is getting a workout
  21. Hon, I do not think anyone should hurt themselves by overtaxing their muscles though, Just want to make that clear. No need to do extensive walks. Do 10 minute ones...3 times a day. build up your time. You don't want to overdo it and make them so sore you can't do it the next day. What I am saying is that slowly, one can get back to proper exercise...
  22. I tried everything for neuropathy for years and none of them did a darn thing. SSRis, SNRIs, gabapentin, even a double facet joint injection in my spine from a neurologist. Nothing helped and I burned and burned. I was told that disc degeneration and OA was causing some of the pain, ( have some discs that are affected, yes) but a spine specialist said...
  23. oh that's so funny.....can just picture him...And i have to say, the fight crew was pretty funny too.
  24. February 2006, in the middle of a streak of 10 degrees or less, it "spiked " to 35 one Sunday and J and I got in the always good in snow and ice Subie and drove 20 minutes to the ice cream parlor to have sundaes. We had to get out. You can get cabin fever up north after a while. The woman who owned it decided to open her seasonal shop early for some...
  25. I used to eat gelato when it was snowing and 20 degrees and I bet Love2travel ate it at -27. LOL Gelato is not weather-determined. Wow! From the sound of your last few posts, looks like your tyramine and histamine issues are resolved if you can eat sausages, aged cheeses and tomatoes once more. So happy for you!!! whoohoo!
