The What's For Dinner Tonight Chat
IrishHeart replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Sorry, sweets, but my recipe calls for a ham bone. You need a "hamless" (i.e. vegetarian) recipe. How about this one? http://www.food.com/recipe/vegetarian-split-pea-soup-233926 -
ARCHIVED Testing Question
IrishHeart replied to ker0pi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You're welcome, hon. The hardest part of this is....you COULD be a celiac, but he would have to biopsy you to find out and some docs will not recommend that in the case of a negative celiac panel. If you really want to press it, ask for a GI consult, eat lots of gluteny foods and have the biopsy done. Even then, if there is no villous atrophy... -

Hmm...I am not sure about the freezer. Maybe Bunnie knows. Try the psyllium husks instead, then. Just make sure they are gluten-free. -

DITTO!! eggs IN things, fine. Alone, wicked nausea and SBDs. (silent but deadlies) and DITTO! on the flax seed. I grind as needed and keep the seeds and the ground meal in the FRIDGE. I go through it fast enough that it does not "go bad" on me. (I just had this image of the jar of flax seed holding a gun on me) -

IMHO, if you would feel better knowing, then try a gluten challenge. If you feel worse, then you can stop it. Right now, though, you say you feel GREAT! Why mess with it?

Crappers! I was not named Sexiest Woman over 50? damn; that's disappointing! I know you are not feeling well, honey and you're really being a champ. Not to go too far off topic here, but do you mean you have Sjrogen's? And for the dehydration, please, do this. Here is what you are having for dinner tonight. (now, we are on topic again)... -

It's okay. I'll just get a demerit. One should not have a beverage too close to one's laptop and then, sip while reading something funny(which can cause a spit onto the laptop surface)...it's an unwritten, but well-known Board rule. I smell your Peanut butter lies. -

let's face it---she was letting him do it so she could film it. (like those dipsticks who let their kids drive off diving boards with dirt bikes for "funniest videos" --morons) I should hope she doesn't let this happen every day. Otherwise, we WILL have to do a doggy intervention. -

Migraines suck. I battled them too, and I offer you this: ICE packs on the back of your head. Knock down that inflammation and sip chicken broth. okay.... Just teasing you here, so you will laugh (because I know you have a killer sense of humor) but your sig line says you "went dairy free in June 2013 and you have no headaches and less flatulence....... -
Yes, hon....that was me! I told you on your other thread about my GI, Dr. Gusten at the Schenectady-Saratoga Group. And I told you back in December and I still I highly recommend him.

Cauliflower mashers (trying to get my Irish hubs to think they are the "same" as mashed potatoes--if I put enough Kerry Gold butter and garlic on the damn thing, it works ) Grilled filet mignon with roasted garlic and grilled portabellas and I made lemon bars (but I swear to St. Brigid, they are not for me!! Bunz has some GREAT thoughts here!! I have been doing this myself. I am a coconut freak, though. Adalaide, I had to go on the Failsafe Diet for a while (can you say boring? oy vey) because my body was so messed up and on high histamine for so long and I wonder if she has any ideas about avoiding tyramine? Lemme check and get back to you. and... -
Don't be embarrassed! It's okay. It just means I will not be trying these vitamins. I am stumped as to why you are not having symptoms and I do not know what this means for you, Bart. It is perplexing that the gluten is not bothering you. Tell your celiac friend, however, that they are NOT gluten free! Even if you guys are not...

ARCHIVED Testing Question

You had all the same testing I had done. Total serum IgA is to test for IgA deficiency, which is a health condition that can affect the accuracy of antibody tests. Your number indicates you are NOT deficient, within normal range and therefore, your testing results are likely accurate. HLA-B27 is the gene test associated with ankylosing spondyloarthropy... -

Wish I could help you with that tiramisu, but there's booze in it, and that's also high in tyramine. Sorry, hon. Maybe later down the road? I only learned all this "stuff" from researching. Not much good came from me being struck down so ill for so long, except I had to figure out what I had to do to replenish by body. I researched and read everything... -

oops, well, I gave you the high fiber veggies list on the other thread you started before I knew all this, sorry. Choose the ones that fit your menu plan.
