  1. I don't know. I feel bad after lots of work. Molds, novacaine, that sort of thing. Yesterday, only pumice for my cleaning...and I feel fine!
  2. hmm....maybe. Skylark is better informed that I am about this...Sky?
  3. I saw your thread title and my first response was Yes, dear? Honey is fine as Peter says. here you go: https://www.celiac.com/articles/181/1/Safe-Gluten-Free-Food-List-Safe-Ingredients/Page1.html
  4. The sores I had on my scalp, face and lip would ooze yucky stuff--yes, yellow would describe it--more like tan? Hate to be graphic, but it is what it is. I am fortunate that they have disappeared since going gluten-free and only reappear if CCed. Swollen eyelids with a discharge is blepharitis. I had it, too when I was very sick and as yet, UN-Dxed and...
  5. Could be. They bother me and GEMINI, too--but there is NO gluten in them-lots of gums, though. It passes quickly.
  6. You may need to stop and take a breath here, hon. Your post is confusing to me because I do not really "feel bad" about anything---why would I feel bad?? --- my comment was said in humor in response to MOMMIDA and YOU misinterpreted it entirely. I know what I said and I know what I meant. It does not need to be re-interpreted. And I think...
  7. Actually, some posters have said that they researched this extensively and they don't. Do you know which flavorings DO? That would be a big help! Thanks.
  8. M and Ms are safe. If I eat too many, I do not feel well, but I have issues with food colorings myself. Mars Chocolate makes M&M's, Dove, Snickers and other products. The company urges gluten-free consumers to check labels, even if a product normally is gluten-free; in busy times of year (such as Halloween), Mars uses alternative facilities to make...
  9. Do not stop consuming gluten, even though it makes you feel lousy, hon. Sorry, but it is the presence of Tissue transglutaminase antibodies that are measured by blood work. Do not change your diet just yet. You mention an endoscopy. That will NOT diagnose Celiac. You need to have a biopsy done while the doctor is down there. They take several samples...
  10. Diflucan is used for vaginal yeast infections. Nystatin is used for oral yeast infections. Do you have visible yeast growing in these areas?? If so, You may have to take that for an extended period for it to work. Talk to your medical doctor about this, please. Did an alternative doctor tell you that you have "Systemic candida"? You would be...
  11. CeliacFashionista: You may not like my answer, but raw milk kefir may be filled with harmful bacteria. My hubs has investigated this heavily (he is a chemist and environmental scientist) and if you do not get it from a farm that has a certified herd, you are taking a risk. Stop it for now. Please. Just take Culturelle (gluten-free and Dairy free) about...
  12. Perhaps if you started a new thread? It really has nothing to do with coffee and I agree, this thread is pretty "tired".
  13. The first time I donated, I fainted afterwards. Embarrassing. I tried to donate a few years ago and because I was anemic, they turned me down. I will try again, in time, but I have "lousy veins" and the phlebotomist always starts to sweat when she cannot get the stick just right at first or the second time or the third.....
  14. Try the digestive enzymes before each meal. Mucus in stool can be from any number of things. It can be from the Celiac, or it could be from greasy foods. If your doctor has ruled out Crohn's, diverticulitis and other inflammatory bowel disease or infections, I'd say you are still healing. But if it persists, call your doctor.
  15. Nope--no thread. It's gone. Here is why: New people search the site and see threads like this very one we are replying to and get freaked out. We are trying to dispel myths, okay? Posting one with the alarmist title you propose? That would only serve to confuse and scare people. We can't have that, right? Right!
  16. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation says it's an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune means a condition that occurs when your body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. Under their section: Why Do We Need More Research? Although we have made very significant advances
  17. Give this woman some coffee!! STAT!
  18. and sometimes the answer is not sufficient, so we flog the proverbial dead horse....
  19. That story is whacked. Total insanity. A disgrace. That poor woman. Hope the family sued the hospital--although it would not be much comfort to them.
  20. Same here. I can eat plain corn and use corn starch in baking, but sometimes feel "off" after eating a processed product like corn chips. For me, it may be some of the oils. ...which leads me to wonder if the Fritos have something else in them that makes them bothersome for you? maybe? just thinking out loud with you
  21. Since you have used the term "chemists" for pharmacy, are you in the UK or Ireland perhaps?? Guess the US docs are not alone....
  22. My pleasure. I live to serve.
  23. I think they still categorize it as an AI disease, at least the NIH and the AARDA does. "The exact cause of Crohn's disease is unknown. It is an autoimmune disorder, which is a condition that occurs when your body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. People with Crohn's disease have ongoing (chronic) inflammation...
  24. oh, motherofpearl That does it! you're going down, buddy. THAT is not funny.
  25. Just wanted the new poster to know that the OP may not see the question she has posed to him. He wrote the post in 2009. But of course, if there is new research on this topic, it should be discussed.
