ARCHIVED New T Fal Cookware Set Is Evil
IrishHeart replied to Newtoitall's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
True, true, Stephanie. Thanks for clarifying for us. Right after I wrote that, I thought about it and realized exactly what you are saying. I should know better, having had a soy intolerance. Still, it does seem like something they should not do--as actually, it is consumable via the cooking process. Probably wouldn't be a problem, but you never... -

That IS crazy! They should not do that. They should have paid for the return shipping at least -
ARCHIVED Promethius Testing?
IrishHeart replied to 3groovygirls's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Listen to your daughter. Your symptoms indicate a gluten intolerance --otherwise, you would not have any ANY symptoms when reintroducing more gluten. It does not matter if the bread is white or dark (whole wheat)--wheat is wheat, hon. Prometheus labs test for gluten sensitivity, celiac panels and does genetic testing. My doctor used this lab.... -

I cannot imagine what would be on/in a set of new pans that would cause you to suffer C. That is perplexing. Unless--and I have no idea if this is even possible--they are made of iron and somehow you are absorbing that?? I think I read on here somewhere you can absorb iron from cast-iron pans. Iron supplementation can cause major C. Common... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Know If You Are Super Sensitive?
IrishHeart replied to mtdewpeg's topic in Super Sensitive People
In answer to your other question, it is possible that yes, your rashes are related to celiac. Many of us have had rashes and sores clear up since going gluten free. It takes time for you to see symptoms improve, so try to be patient. If you have DH, eczema or psoriasis, those are diagnosed and often treated with medications, along with the gluten... -
yeah, I do not notice cellulite coming and going ....just staying.

Hope it all agrees with you.

ARCHIVED Probiotics - Culturelle
IrishHeart replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
D in F!! (bet you are not missing Maine right now, are you?! Compared to most probiotics--this one is inexpensive. I paid a LOT more for others. I got them from iherb. But you may find it a bit cheaper elsewhere. -
Interesting article. Thanks for posting! I have read much about the seratonin connection to Celiac---as depression was one of my many "fun" symptoms I acquired. I, too, was told I had "IBS". I would ask repeatedly, yes, I KNOW it is irritable, but WHY is it irritable, doctor ?? No answers. IBS--I Be Stumped. Once DXed and off gluten...

ARCHIVED Probiotics - Culturelle

Give them some time to repopulate your gut, hun. Our guts- from long unDXed celiac disease -are pretty damaged and the ratio of good/bad bacteria is unbalanced for sure. I hope they do the trick for you. The dog should benefit too! Caprylic acid caps--- or just plain coconut oil ---helps get rid of yeast as well, I believe? -
Sorry to hear this Coll. yes, maybe mac and cheese was a lot for your digestive tract just yet. Baking soda does not have much in it that could be an issue. But it is difficult to say as I do not know what else you ate during the day. An elimination diet is tricky (at least I thought it was) because whenever more than ONE food item is...

The only precaution I saw about this probiotic was on drugs.com "Talk to your doctor before taking lactobacillus rhamnosus GG if you have any other medical conditions, allergies, or if you take other medicines or herbal/health supplements. Under certain conditions, it may be dangerous for you to take lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. Do not take lactobacillus... -
ARCHIVED Which Is Easier For You: Dairy Or Gluten Free?
IrishHeart replied to JWSJ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
TL--I hope you are finding some good gluten-free substitutes for all those bready items? There are some decent ones on the market and many of us bake our own. Did you surf around the recipe section yet? And, there's always hope. In the interim, have you tried So Delicious Coconut milk?--about the closest thing to dairy milk I could find (and I tried... -
ARCHIVED Why Do I Now Get Sick From Gluten When I Didn't Before Going Gluten Free
IrishHeart replied to JulieAC's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for coming back to share your experiences. I know you have worked hard to make things safe for you and your daughter. ( maybe I am a tad paranoid about the use of the word "paranoid" on the forum sometimes ) All the best, IH -

IrishHeart replied to JulieAC's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Paranoia is a thought process based on fear and anxiety to the point of irrational and delusion thinking. You are not delusional and irrational, are you? Fearing that something bad or harmful might happen does not in itself suggest paranoia. Those fears may be based on past experiences--and not wishing to repeat anything that will recreate them. I... -

from Open Original Shared Link "Do probiotics help prevent or treat leaky gut? Probiotics reduce, prevent and/or heal leaky gut. They enhance the gut barrier function. Can probiotics help Celiac patients or reduce the toxicity of gluten or wheat protein in the gut? Probiotics have been shown to reduce the toxicity of gluten. They... -

Well, I've been touting them for weeks on various threads, so people are probably sick of me saying try them, try them! and yes, I think they work well. My very celiac-savvy GI suggested them (I had been using Custom Probiotics at first) and he said switch up once and a while for different strains. They have studies to back them up (Tufts... -
Then, I suggest you keep doing it and see how it goes. Now, you should try to relax a little, hon---you are pretty tapped out from feeling so lousy for so long. Keep us posted.

Glad you are feeling better. If you can pin the source down, it helps. I had a similar situation occur--Christmas day. The butcher makes this breakfast sausage I wanted to serve. Love all his meats, so I thought, okay, let's try it. I bring it home, then think before I serve it. I am pretty sensitive to trace gluten and I get slammed from CC, so, I... -

ARCHIVED Why Do I Now Get Sick From Gluten When I Didn't Before Going Gluten Free
IrishHeart replied to JulieAC's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am not paranoid, judgmental or angry at all. In fact, I am so reasonable, I try to do all I can to stop people from being paranoid about following a gluten-free lifestyle. And it does not matter if someone only gets a bit of gas from gluten or if they are struck blind---they are still symptoms of the same disease. And to say we are angry and judging her... -
