  1. My cousin sent me this one, but I confess I have not tried it yet myself. The picture looks yummy. Individual Spinach and Bacon Quiches Recipe makes 10. 3 slices bacon 1/2 small onion, diced 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg (that's my secret flavor in quiches...
  2. No, huh?  Coincidentally, me neither..... but even our cat eats grain free.....her coat is spectacular. Now, if only my hair would grow back in that luxurious. Hey, maybe Bella's "savory salmon" IS the answer.....
  3. aww, is this your first thread hijacking??? sweet. (I still remember mine so fondly.) Congrats! Not only was your question answered, it started a trend, we may learn some risque Croatian phrase AND we all got invited to Australia for a party!!! Nicely done Rick!
  4. um, I've never been shy OR fallen over (except from gluten stupor ) the "drink all your booze" part, well........ :D
  5. I did go to Google translate...but stopped myself because I thought that would take the sport of guessing out of it. ( I was kidding about the Bosnian, as I am sure it is Croatian, knowing your love for the land and people. ) okay, does it mean: Food is my passion?
  6. looks like Bosnian? ...does it mean "she who cooks"?
  7. Well, in the "old days" we had vanilla/cinnamon french toast or crepes, some bacon and mimosas after we opened the stockings and the rest of our presents. Sometimes we had a veggie quiche or a strata. Bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese. (no wonder I used to be so "voluptuous" i.e. chubby) We opened some gifts on Christmas Eve and had a toast...
  8. hey, he's the one saying ho ho ho
  9. I'm sure you do as best as you can with a GE in the house. I would not worry about bathroom products or the cat food, unless you are eating them too? My pain waxes and wanes, too--but I can report to you that for the first time since I can recall (1990-- something maybe?) I am in less pain than I was. I nearly cried writing that sentence. It took...
  10. I had some trouble with that for a while, too---but it comes back! You're going to be okay! Hang in there, hunny!! In the meantime, check to see if you're getting CCed somehow....you have a housemate, don't you?
  11. Hold on, I think we're getting our signals crossed The One ROSETAPPER suggests is GOOD to use: The Metagenics UltraClear Sustain Medical Food. You can still take the probiotics with it, too! Ask him to EXCHANGE it for the DETOX one he gave you. I am sure he can! The other one YOU mentioned --the one that DETOXES--- is the one I would not...
  12. Me, too..good lawd, I'll be posting all day long to hit those numbers. As it is, I think I "talk too much".... Heck, even an "I agree" or a "uh uh" counts, apparently....
  13. hooray for Major Flipover and boo on General Calamities (I hate him; he visits me often)
  14. ( Irish spits out drink)....
  15. okay, I put my title in....there, that should do it.
  16. hahaha.... I'm thinkin, I'm thinkin....
  17. um....No. DO NOT DETOX right now. Celiacs should not detox when their guts are inflamed!! (no offense to your brother) What ROSETAPPER suggested is nutritional support, not a detox. Glad you laughed! Hope you feel better soon.
  18. I see you have customized yours already...fantastic!!
  19. really? oh wow. I didn't know you could do THAT that could be very interesting....(imagine what some folks will do with that knowledge...
  20. I have heard of this product. I think that is only available for purchase through a health care practitioner, however. It is a blend of vitamins, minerals and amino acids like L-glutamine. Contains: Sodium Potassium (as dipotassium phosphate) Carbohydrate Dietary Fiber Protein Vitamin A (as retinyl palmitate) Vitamin A (as beta-carotene) Vitamin...
  21. CULTURELLE I have tried several, and they worked okay for me, but after talking with my new, cool GI guy, he said this one is backed by studies at Tufts Univ. It did the trick --for me and for several others I suggested it to--for D and C! And yes, dairy (specifically, my beloved cheese) most definitely caused C, bloating and pain in me, not D. ...
  22. You're welcome. We could have DXed her by just LOOKING at her (my Native American name is "She Who Sees Celiacs Everywhere") And yes, my friend....those were my very same objections to the article as well. Raised my objections on the thread where admin also posted the article-- and I had a good rant there as well. The implication was the doctor...
  23. This is why nurses are more empathetic and compassionate than most doctors and believe that the patient's level of pain is what he/she says it is. ( P.S. I have 4 close friends who are nurses and they are as frustrated with doctors as I am.... )
