  1. You have gluten sensitivity for sure, as indicated by the genetic and stool testing. The stool sampling test results interpretation indicates you should follow a strict gluten-free diet. It also says you "cannot rule out microscopic colitis"--did you bring this to the attention of your GI doctor?? You say your GI doctor "suspects" celiac and the biopsy...
  2. Unfortunately, YES!!!...you need to be consuming gluten for the celiac antibodies blood tests and biopsies for the most accurate results! the antibodies are present BECAUSE you are having a reaction to the gluten. As stated in the article Kareng posted for you above: "Antibody tests are only accurate when a patient is on a gluten-containing diet. Those...
  3. YES!!! to Celiac testing.! (not sure what allergy testing will do for you) Dairy and soy intolerances (not necessarily allergies) often occur secondary to celiac. For example, I have a soy intolerance (IgG), but I am NOT allergic to soybeans. (IgE) All of her symptoms seem like a gluten intolerance to me. I am sure you know the differences...
  4. Bush's Baked beans are gluten-free/SF/CF. I am guessing you can add your brown sugar, bacon, molasses, onions, etc. to them. P.S. Would you like a real, old fashioned baked beans recipe? They cook for hours in the oven --made in a bean pot ---it's a family recipe from my Bostonian grandmother. It's just a few ingredients you assemble and let ...
  5. Jeesh...me too! ....I feel nice, dananananana like sugar and spice...crappers--that's stuck for a while now... anyhoodle.. THIS IS AWESOME NEWS!!! Very happy for you that you are seeing such a fast, positive response to the gluten-free life! WHOOHOO! Not many people heal so quickly--hmm...maybe you are really lucky and maybe, you should...
  6. uh-huh....um, I have a suggestion for you...a tip from a GYN and a women's health PT involving probiotics and inflammation in tissues and where to "place them"...works like a charm!!!...um, I'll send you a PM!!
  7. I hate to be photographed as well. (hence my lack of one on here )...This is also tough since both hubby and I are avid photographers and he is always insisting I get in the picture. arrgh! Fran, I do not think you are necessarily in denial--perhaps you are just being incredibly optimistic?! There's nothing wrong with that, hon. Acknowledging the...
  8. Well, we talk about poop, hemorrhoids, vomit ...why not about something as wonderful as sex???!! To be even more frank, both men and women can have "intimacy issues" associated with celiac--(it affects every body system and delicate tissues, hormone levels , etc.) and some people have severe pelvic pain as a result of celiac as well--so, if they also...
  9. Hi Luddie! Anytime I get "glutenized" (as we call it in our house ) I can almost always point the finger at what has caused it. (1) I eat at my sister's house (which we call gluten- landmine- hell. ) They are all BIG gluten eaters and it's a sea of bread, cookies and baked goods. She's a sweetheart and no matter how hard she tries to keep my food safe...
  10. Dear Fran What a lovely face you have! I am sure what you are facing is anxiety-provoking, yet you have also told us you have a great support system down there. Lean on them and talk about your fears. When I awaited many tests, scopes,MRI tubes, surgeries, etc. the past few years, I would get that anxious feeling and I sang a song to myself. It sounds...
  11.

  16. Walking on Broken Glass--Annie Lennox
  17. Thank you for your thoughts! While researching my symptoms for 3 years, I read about POTS---but I do not have all these symptoms. After I posted this topic, I saw my doctor, a physiatrist (pain management Dr.) and 2 physical therapists. My doctors say the nerves will regenerate in time. I no longer "tingle", except in the lumbar region. The physical...

  21. Celiac Haiku of the Day So I saw this website called CELIAC BITES (love THAT name!) and the guy posted this Celiac Haiku and I thought some of you guys would find it clever and perhaps wish to compose one of your own. (Maybe it's just the English Prof. in me? ) You know the format-- 1st line 5 syllables 2nd line 7 syllables 3rd line 5 syllables...
  22. we'll see !!--all the Walmarts around here are in the larger surrounding cities. (we're in the countryside)...I'll let ya know
  23. Irritable bowel is " a collection of symptoms"--and it is a diagnosis based on symptoms of the LARGE intestine, not the small intestine. I'm with Sylvia--ditch the dairy for a while. Lactose intolerance--secondary to celiac--is transient in the majority of celiacs. (I hope for me too--I miss cheese! ) Lactase, which is the enzyme that breaks down...
  24. geesh, hubby paid $3.99 at Price Chopper...next stop, wallie world.
  25. I second Karen's thoughts. No way I would put my child back on a gluten-filled diet to prove what I already know, especially with the genetic component (your Mom--and what about you?) Your child is thriving and no longer needs any medications! That is fantastic!! Why mess with his good health?? Sounds like a positive response to a gluten free diet IS your...
