Then, maybe yours is triggered more by repetitive motion perhaps? Yes! My PT and MT all say the CORE muscles are a problem for me as well. I work on those, too. Geesh, rehab is tough work, isn't it?! The tightness in the neck, shoulders, upper back, jaw---seems to be a common compliant I hear--on here and in a celiac support group I attend. I do...

One last thought...and this is something doctors need to understand so patients will be diagnosed quickly from neurological manifestations of gluten intolerance: "Gluten, as a neuroactive compound derived from the intestinal lumen, can permeate either diseased or healthy mucosa, cross the blood-brain barrier and cause psychiatric, cognitive, and behavioral...

I know this pain you describe all too well! For me, this nerve and skin"burning" was wide- spread and debilitating. It feels like the worst sunburn imaginable, doesn't it?! I had it from head to toe at one point. I could not even lay or sit down, I was in agony. I really thought I'd rather be dead than be in this much pain. Combined with major gastro...

I do not think you are nutters at all! SEIZURES are listed as a celiac symptom in many sources. I have had my share of doubters in the medical community myself and it makes us a bit "edgy". I do hope you get the answers/help you are looking for.

No,no... hon, nor did I --Oh gosh, you misunderstood what I meant!! I meant it as an enthusiatic yes!!with a smile ----to what you said --to definitely go to the section on neurological and behavior issues for more information. It's an expression here in the States..as in "ditto" to that!..I suffered terribly from this same thing, falling down and...

This is from an older post, but you may find it interesting... Potential Link Between Celiac Disease And Cognitive Decline Discovered By Mayo Clinic 11 Oct 2006 Mayo Clinic researchers have uncovered a new link between celiac disease, a digestive condition triggered by consumption of gluten, and dementia or other forms of cognitive decline. The investigators...

Fran, It sounds like you view the "beast that you know" as easier to slay! Now, that's the wise warrior way of thinking, girlfriend! Your relief tells me this possible alternative path for treatment is preferable to you for many reasons. Try to relax, enjoy the weekend with your family, and I continue to hold you in my thoughts and prayers. My Best... -
I wouldn't do it when it was suggested to me (preDx when I was very ill and no one could figure it out.) I read a lot about it and determined it was not a great idea. I know others will say it is. You asked for thoughts and these are mine. Just curious.... Why would you want to purposefully disrupt the natural good gut flora you are trying to...

I always say I live amongst gluten-filled landmines and my sister quipped, "you need a Kevlar vest" . yup, we do. Sorry you got "hit". It does feel lousy to be glutened but the good news is... it will pass. We have all been there/done that and console each other on here frequently. Wish there was a magic pill to make it stop, but the truth is... -

ARCHIVED Can I Say I Have celiac disease?
IrishHeart replied to paperbagprincess's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, kiddo...from what you say, it seems like some members of your family have a cruel streak and they are judgmental and opinionated and that's unfortunate. If your aunt knows full well that you will be sick if you eat that piece of cake, then I find her behavior sadistic. Taunting you like that is just inexcusable. How do you resist telling her where to... -

I need a new one! Someone suggested Dr. Peter Purcell to me. But if any of you have one you like, please let me know. I really need a good doctor who understands celiac and who will follow through with me post-DX. I am tired of being my own doctor after 3 1/2 years and even though I like my PC doc, I'm still doing all the work here Thanks, guys!

I laugh every day, Fran...no matter how dark it has ever been in my life--I think humor saves our butts and our sanity, don't you?? I should be more specific...hope you don't think this weird, but when I whisper my thanks, it's to my beloved Dad for whatever he does "up there" on my behalf with the "Big Guy" I do " plead my case' directly to God... -
