  1. I looked at those, Bea, but they have soy lecithin in them...bummer...why do they have to put that stuff in everything?? the only ones I found w/out it is NOW.
  2. It is minimal improvement, but improvement nonetheless and I'll TAKE it! -- on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being "I'd rather be dead than live like this", I'm about a 7. I work with a PT, an MT,a chiro and a sports med. doctor. I hope you will see some improvement as well. I know we both tried the same therapeutic measures for 3 years...but everyone agrees...
  3. Ditto!! I stand and move all the time...although I can sit for slightly longer periods now since PT/no gluten is helping the inflammation, I think (I remain hopeful!!)...but, good Lord, we ARE a pair!! Hang in there, hon!!
  4. I confess I have used the chronic pain and inability to sit for long periods (i.e.long car rides) excuse (which is valid, of course--it is a b--ch more than the celiac as an "out", but either way...LOL LOL When I am not so "ouchy" (pray to God!), then the food issue will be the "back-up" dodge .... are we "bad"???
  5. Pretty Woman--Roy Orbison
  6. This link is from a few years ago and the original poster may not see your questions, hon.
  7. A good reason to quit dairy (lactose) while you recover your gut function is that lactase, which is the enzyme that breaks down the sugar lactose, is produced in the tip of the villi. When the villi get blunted in celiac disease, sometimes the ability to digest lactose is decreased and you can become lactose intolerant. This may cause bloating, stomach...
  8. YES!!!!I was wondering about that too, Aziza---but figured Jerseyangel probably had that covered. I, too, had eyebrow thinning for awhile, puffy face, hair loss, fatigue (all pre-DX for celiac) and the endo told me I was hypothyroid, put me on meds and made things worse. I told him I felt "racy", he ignored me so, I had the antibodies tested, none!!...Turns...
  9. Me, too!!--and I still get chomped!! These buggers in NY State are big, too They sound like helicopters.... Hubby wears a goofy netting kind of hood draped over his head while he works outside...I just cannot stand things over my face, so...I suffer with it and swing my arms and swat swat swat... like an idiot...
  10. I do not think you are a "babbler" "babblers" make no sense when they talk. you are "sharing"...see the difference?? besides, I am a bit of a "sharer" myself
  11. I understand all that and you are probably right. That's the "maddening part" of trying to use so-called "gluten free products". From what I have learned, there is no such thing as 100% gluten free because of cross-contamination, no matter how many precautions are taken. I also have some trouble with things considered "gluten free" and react to them...
  12. Your courage and determination is inspirational!! I am just so happy for you!!! Sara, this "burning fire" you describe??--is exactly what I live with --right up through my skull, too--down my arms, spine, pelvis, hips, legs and feet..and it IS awful, isn't it. arrgh! HOWEVER!! The good news is... you can use your muscles & joints now that you...
  13. Just a thought...! hope it's the answer!!
  14. WHOOHOO! You go, girl!! Major kudos!!
  15. look at the link I just posted--maybe it's the BHT?? Are you sensitive to preservatives??
  16. RE: the BHT This guy has an opinion about the BHT they use as a preservative in the chex--as opposed to it being the gluten. see what you think. http://gluten-free-b...ontroversy.html
  17. The gluten free Chex cereals are made in a separate dedicated facility--so I am wondering--are you SURE it couldn't be anything else? (I'm not saying you aren't hurtin, hon--I'm just trying to help you sort it out) This guy has an opinion about the BHT they use as a preservative in the chex--as opposed to it being the gluten. see what you think. Open...
  18. Oh Domino-- Van Morrison
  19. I THOUGHT maybe you were being "restrained" for the forum. yes, making a sailor blush would be easy for me, too....ah well, we have every right to be pissed off when glutened and feeling yucky. Any better today, hon??
  20. Hi Jenarella! Here is an article of interest for you on white matter brain lesions and celiac. I believe some people on here had brain lesions--hopefully they will chime in to help you with this topic.(I had several neurological/cognitive/ataxia issues--but do not think I had lesions. My brain MRI was "clear".) https://www.celiac.com/articles...

Continued good health to you!!
  22. Well, kiddo--many of your symptoms sound like mine--the freezing cold in summer thing??--and feeling weak with exercise, hypoglycemia, fatigue, insomnia, foggy head, itchy ...etc.... so, certainly gluten may be an issue for you. Blood tests are often Negative--you'll read that a lot on here. Mine were, but I have celiac nonetheless. A strict gluten...
