  1. Seems a bit sweet for me, too (eek) ....I may have to wing it, too. ...lemme know what all yer "winging" produces....with all this winging and flappin, we could be in Costa Rica for the winter with the hummingbirds.

  3. Got one here ,too, MW. I sneak them in by braising them with bacon, shallots and some sherry, broth and herbs and chestnuts when we can get them. I do not get it; he likes cabbage enough. I love them! I love swede, too. In fact, I never met a cruciferous or root veggie I did not like. I'm making: Quinoa stuffed peppers tonight...
  4. well, I do have to travel an hour to see him, but not as far as NV. thank heavens. (you're still there, right? not NZ) Okay, if I get to it first, I'll let you know--and vice versa, deal?
  5. Really? None of us can know how someone actually feels and you are just playing semantics here. I have tried to help everyone see all sides and many of us have tried to help the OP figure out what reasonably may have made her ill so she could avoid it in the future. That's what motivates me to reply in threads, to try and help, not to attack or argue...
  6. wow, I saw that recipe too, shroom--in the doc's waiting room. Ladies Home Journal, maybe? I dunno.... anyhoo...Maple cream and acorn squash and thought, well, that could be yummy. So....how was it?
  7. Sorry you feel that way. I agree with you completely! Some people do come off as rude in their delivery and we do try to keep that in check. But I guess I just do not agree with you that the OP was attacked. That is a strong word ---and if it had happened, I would have been one of the first ones to have stepped in. This is just my humble...
  8. Your analysis tries to look at all sides and is very gracious. Number 3 may well be the most telling--as it supports what many have said to her. Number 2 is the primary reason why many members responded. The members acknowledged her reactions as being real. The members offered rational reasons for why she may feel that way (CC from gluten exposure...
  9. Not my favorite part either, but at least this year, I am well enough to help again. whoohoo! Slow cooker being put to work again (you guys have me convinced-- it is a GREAT idea!) Pork ribs, sauerkraut, potatoes , onions all seasoned with peppercorns, caraway, bay, juniper berries and some white wine. I found this recipe on Chowhound. ...

  12. beotch shroom, I just sent a bunch of articles to a family member re: COPD and celiac. Guess we can add it to the ever-growing list of related diseases, I am afraid.
  13. I never do. Not when it comes to anything having to do with the medical community....or celiac...or human nature.
  14. Your post moved me to tears. I can honestly say I "feel your pain" and frustration because I lived it. I had a total hysterectomy because of the mess I was in. I could never carry to term. It is a shame your GYN missed this simple diagnosis for so long and that anyone doubted your level of pain. Sorry, honey. There are many GYN issues, including endo...
  15. "quite twisty and turvy" hmm...that's a new one.
  16. Three cheese pizza (tapioca flour crust) with green pepper, portabellas, shallots ---but only because the sun came out (thank the heavens!!! and hubs got to golf: whoohoo!) Golf night = pizza. That's just a "given" around these parts.
  17. Guys, I even "played the game" and went to a psychiatric doctor so she could give me some xanax so I could get some sleep. I had raging insomnia and my PC doc wanted me to consult with her. Okay, sure. I just kept telling her, "This isn't like me, honest. There is something really wrong with me and no one can tell me what it is". She said to me "You...
  18. I love saffron, too. Then, you probably would like: Risotto with saffron and veal marsala That's what we're having tonight.
  19. As I was dying a slow death for nearly 3 years, I wrote in my journal : "I am forgetting things and it scares me. I feel so sick, tired, and in horrid, excruciating pain. What the hell is going on? I'd rather be dead than live like this!" (but I did not really mean it, apparently, because I kept fighting for an answer.) I cried a lot (no, more like...

I am a wee bit tired of the gray, cold and rainy stuff the Great Northeast has been suffering since Sunday, Sept. 23rd...but who's counting?.... ) blech...
