  1. hahahaha Oh boy, Slackinator it is!! shhh,,,,, well she isn't chunky, sweets, but lovey and I have a pact....no matter how much weight we gain post DX, we'll always be shapely and svelte. (in our own minds...)
  2.   holy crap on a cracker....(almost) just as I pictured her. but, in my mind, her thighs are smaller.. but, what a doll! (and I laughed so hard, Sora...I almost peed....) Karen! I spit on the laptop again..--dang)
  3. Welcome home, Sora! Missed you xxoo Hope you are feeling better. Of course you are in! Muumuus for everyone---yaay!! okay, this is weird, but I saw DUMPLINGS and I started to drool on my laptop...calling....pavlov...
  4. SWEET story and if you want, I'l tell you what I did to make that pie.
  5. And this is why we thought it would be okay to call it Dinner and a Chat Seriously, girls....as someone who has had abnormal paps many times, a surgical breast biopsy and a mass removed... and who now undergoes mammos (the new digital mammos and ultra sound) sometimes as often as every 6 months, I can honestly say DO NOT PANIC or lose any sleep--just...
  6. I can relate to being thrilled by a mom's kudos on our cooking. Mine was here for Thanksgiving. Her amazing apple pie was legendary and always my Birthday cake ---and I actually cried at the prospect of never having that flaky deliciousness ever again when I was Dxed. She went gluten-free after my diagnosis, so no more pie was made. Fast forward to...
  7. ....... and it isn't necessarily an oncoming train... Like you, I remain steadfast in my resolve to obtain full recovery. & cheers to being "vertical" babes!! go get 'em champ! What does your jerky taste like? I have never made it in my life. Willing to try anything, am I!
  8. Thank you for reinforcing this to all of us, Patti. When I first came on c.com, it was stories like yours and Shroom's and so many others who had to persevere to find a safe repertoire of foods to heal and get well. I say it so often to others, but really need to hear it myself sometimes. Time means healing. I have revamped my diet so many times, it...
  9. I don't mind the "no grains" thing that much. Primal eating is very good. It's the inconvenience . Many of my best recipes include those grains: risottos, mexican, asian, rice pilafs, etc. It's just the idea of one more thing to have to "give up" I mean, why couldn't I have issues with eel, sweetbreads, brains, even snotty marshmallow fluff...
  10. No mystery to me, girls. I get it. Those ER trips pre-DX,,,, only to have a normal EKG? Found it is chostochondiritis. And intense connective tissue pain, muscles like wood ...these are my life. And YES, definitely celiac related. The good thing is, it gets less intense with time, massages, PT, stretching, etc, Glad you are all right, Lovey! I suggest warm...
  11. .........Absolutely terrified to hear where 7 year old Addy thought jarred brown gravy came from I am making Veal Marsala even though I am so tired from lack of sleep. Seemed like a good idea a few hours ago.....
  12. I shall carry this image with me forever. Thank you, Addy. xxoo
  13. I am sure I told this story of my time on St. John...I was 34....a cabana boy (a gorgeous mocha man) ran up and down the beach all day long (he was tireless) singing "COcktails, COckTails"....I ordered as many as I could without barfin.... just to see him running...those thighs, that back....er. oh... but I digress. Look..... cabana boys bring...
  14. Hey, lady....you are taking all the "good jobs" !
  15. NO!! the one I sent you is the carrot souffle--it is awesome. Tested and true! This butternut squash one was from a paleo website.
  16. The recipe sounded so good--so I printed it out. Local farmer still has so many squashes, I was looking for a different way to spotlight them. That one did NOT work. Bland--and the texture, um, well...not so palatable. ..ah well, maybe it was "lost in translation" To paraphrase Julia "you can't be afraid to make mistakes in the kitchen...
  17. I am so happy for you! Nothing like "getting a food back"!! yaaay!!!!
  18. Last night, I tried a new recipe. Savory Butternut Squash Souffle. It even had bacon in it. I thought it would be delish. What can go wrong with fresh veggies, savory herbs, eggs, bacon? BLECH. Not a keeper. Tonight: Chicken thighs, roasted asparagus, acorn squash
  19. This tee shirt was in a catalog my mother gets.
