  1. I did not actually laugh, exactly, but the irony of it was not lost on me as I had been telling THEM (the docs) I had it for years. Good thing we have good senses of humor, yes??. (or someone was getting strangled.....)
  2. whoohoo!! this news is awesome .......with awesome sauce!!!!
  3. I see you have "fibromyalgia" in your sig line. And migraines and OA, and ...well, you sound exactly like me! Everything you had, I had and then some. .How many syndromes can your doctors diagnose you with until they see the big picture? Syndromes are just a collection of symptoms, not a diagnosis or a resolution to the problem. You have to look at the cause...
  4. I ran this one by my hubs ( although it is EXACTLY what I was going to say, honest!) and he said "tell him to imagine being hit in the jewels.... and then having them squeezed for several hours". Any man can relate to this pain.
  5. No sauce, hon. Here is what I do: Roll out a Chebe dough. Then, brush on garlic- studded olive oil. (mince up 2 cloves of garlic and let them sit in 1-2 TBLs. of olive oil for the afternoon) Place slices of fresh ricotta on the crust and a healthy layer of shredded mozzarella and some shaved parmesan Throw on some diced broccoli florets, thin sliced...
  6. whoohoo for up and moving !! and we loved Big Sur! Enjoy, sweets Sunday - a succulent roasted chicken with rutabaga, brussel sprouts, onions, turnips and sweet potatoes Monday - a fragrant pork stew with chilies and squash (whatt?? I have to use these adjectives because Love2 has no internet and she would want me to pick up the slack!) Tuesday...
  7. You're right....I have not been able to find "being a total git" listed anywhere as a celiac symptom. How ironic that you turned out to have celiac as well, though. Life is crazy sometimes.
  8. well, you are special of course, because you're wonderful YOU..... but maybe you need to stop putting your hands in your mouth? Hand sanitizer is not as effective as soap and water anyway, Barbara Almanza, an associate professor at Purdue University who teaches safe sanitation practices to workers, came to an interesting conclusion. She notes...
  9. She is staying there for a month while they break ground for building her house.(I TOLD them to build down here , but ...) I can only imagine what she's thinking right now. I suspect I'll be getting an email full of expletives any minute. That looks more like Cape Cod right now.. Yikes.
  10. Gloomy, rainy, foggy and 66. Blech. Good day for ducks. My cousin (lives in NH) vacationing in Myrtle beach reports the impossible was supposed to happen........light snow. ugh Yeah, she's thrilled. she has not told me anything yet....
  11. I just want to say: It may be present, but it should be noted that the article also says: "The good news for people with celiac disease is that soap containing gluten shouldn't cause any problems unless you ingest it. It can't be absorbed through the skin by contact " Really, the nearly miniscule amount of the intact protein that may possibly be...
  12. okee dokee...I'll be here! Seriously, kiddo....I think you are very wise to give eating out a try. It can be done successfully and once you get a few under your belt, you'll have more confidence. Don't let this thing confine you or define you. (if somehow, somewhere down the road you get hit by CC, it may be yucky, but it is not the end of the world...

  15. Yes, yes, yes to the picnic date! I used to throw some cheeses, crackers or a baguette, some champagne, chicken salad and cookies in the basket and off we went. The lake nearby, a ride in the country taking pictures, etc...that sort of thing!....and fortunately, picnics still work when you're G F!

  17. "I rarely eat out at restaurants due to allergies, and I know it can be a pain I would not start by painting yourself negatively with this line, hon. You make it sound like you are a recluse and a pain in the ass. LOL ....which. I know from reading your posts--you are not! You're adorable and positive and sweet! Why not say something like what...
  18. Me too! I was one for many years and I sold dozens of cookies. I could eat a whole row of somoas in a heartbeat. I asked a group of them selling boxes outside the grocery store the other day f they had any G F ones. You would think I had asked of they had any liver-flavored ones from the look I got. LOL The supervising Mom said 'Um,. no we just...
  19. Yeast sourced from sugar is gluten free--as they have explained in their email. They would have no cause to lie, hon. From Gluten Free Living: "All brand-name packaged yeasts sold in the US are gluten free. Autolyzed yeast in a food product is generally considered gluten free. Brewers' yeast, when it's a by-product of beer, is not considered gluten...
  20. what about this recipe, using your gluten-free, soy free miso and gluten-free coconut aminos (for the soy sauce)? I don't do soy either. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  21. Gonna be in the 80's today. Good thing, I was getting ready to move to Alberta.
  22. Wise woman.
  23. Indeed. Let's keep it as close to rated- PG as we can, ladies. Thanks.
  24. but, this sounds like fibromyalgia and celiac and NCGS and ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy) and CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and hypothryoidism and ,and, and ... which was my whole point (but was lost in the snarkyfest). self-diagnosing, self-medicating and self-supplementing...? not a good idea. IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO (think...
  25. Guess you never heard the expression "don't mix your poisons", kiddo. I can drink, but I would never mix all those together and expect to feel okay the next day (or the next week) I'm surprised you didn't hurl your brains out. You may want to take it easy on your gut.
