Hi guys! I've been gone for a little bit, but, I'm back again. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday on the Sept 30 topic <3 I went to Washington DC for my 2nd time with my ROTC unit on my birthday. As far as Celiac goes, I did an excellent job this year with keeping myself healthy and having food to eat. Which was a great improvement...

Dudeness. That's pretty cool. -Ash -
I guess maybe I'm the odd one out, but, is it difficult for anyone else to read with the new layout? I actually do like it. But, I have to strain to concentrate on what I'm read with these colors. -Ash.

Chloe, Your friend needs to get real. I think if she was in the same boat as you, she'd be asking for something that she could eat too. It's not rude to ask for food you can eat so you won't get sick. My suggestions: 1.) Bring food of your own -This works really well if the friends you are staying with have no clue about celiac disease...

Nah, it shouldn't affect your intestines. Just make sure you don't rub your mouth, face, eyes, ect. Some people's skin break out when exposed to gluten (which is my case). It just differs from person to person. -Ash

ARCHIVED I'm Done With Amy's
Ashley replied to Piccolo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've only eaten one kind of her meals and its the gluten free mac and cheese. I haven't had a problem with it. I react severely to gluten so I know even if I got the slightest bit. But, after all these problems Celiacs are having, I'm thinking not eating her meals anymore. -Ash -
Cheating will cause you not to heal. No cheating. Now that's out of the way, my favorite bread is made from Gluten-Free Pantry's french bread & pizza mix. Any gluten-free bread is ALWAYS better if you make it from a mix. It actually tastes decent. -Ash

I'm a upcoming junior in highschool. I work part time at Maggie Moos. I'm also the Color Guard commander for my JROTC unit. After highschool, my careers plans are to attend the Air Force Acedemy in Colorado Springs then join the Air Force as a pilot. Plus I know I want children later on in life when I get married. Everyone here has such amazing jobs...

You're only old if lose the spirit of having fun. As for the running, I have no idea about that. Didn't know you could be too old to exercise and run. If it were me, I'd take everything at the pace that is comfortable. The body's a complex things. Go with instincts. And obviously don't do anything dangerous. -Ash

Hello, hello. To me, it wouldn't matter if I knew if I had Celiac or not---if going gluten-free is going to make you feel better, then by all means just cut out the gluten and say forget the entrolab. I understand the pain, I lost 70+ lbs because of it was so painful for me to eat. If you're going gluten-free and taking the entrolab, then it's going...

Hello, hello. As of late, my capillaries have been bursting. They're not the usual violent red but just a very very very faint dried-blood color. I can't figure why they are bursting, because I'm pretty sure I'm not taking in gluten. and if I was then my face would covered the violent red spots and not these faint ones. Can your capillaries burst just from...

ARCHIVED Help! Computer/technology Ignorant
Ashley replied to Ashley's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Nope, No C-D just a bunch of vague instructions that pretty much worthless if you run into a problem. Thanks though Ursula and Generic! Tiffany, it was the USB port. I went to my uncle's yesterday and it came up just fine. I tried it again on my computer but nothing. When I hook it to one the usb ports, it feels loose. The other fits fine but nothing came... -

Hello to all! I just went and bought myself an Ipod a couple of days ago. When I plug it up to the USB port, nothing comes up. I've used the port before for my camera. I tried plugging in my camera too but nothing happened. The little icon doesn't pop up in the bottom bar showing that the USB port is in use. I don't know if anything came unplugged... -

ARCHIVED In A Slump...need Advise
Ashley replied to LoveBeingATwin's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Breathe. Take a deep breathe. Hold it for 5 seconds. Exhale slowly. Now, I'm in the same boat in a way. I shift between pants sizes because of bloating. It gets me extremely frustated because I'm worried to buy clothes because I don't know if they'll be to loose on me the next day. My advice is to re-examine your food income. Not how much you eat, but... -

Welcome Seth! I hope you and girlfriend get a lot of good help from the website! I would strongly discourage eating resturant Chinese food. If you choose to (which I do too, the chicken fried rice becomes so tempting.) make sure to stress not to cook any of her food with soy sauce. A good alternative soy sauce is Tamari. Love the stuff, you can get Wild... -
Last semester in my Spanish class, we somehow got on the subject of food. I told them I couldn't have gluten/wheat. One of the girls in the class said, "Well, I know to never get you a sandwich or anything like that now." Then the dude beside me said, "What are you talking about?! There's only wheat in wheat bread! She can have regular bread!". I nearly laughed...

ARCHIVED 10 Things I Hate About Celiac
Ashley replied to Mtndog's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Some of these have already been listed...but, I dislike them so much that I'll list them again anyway. 10.) Extreme Pain when doing sit-ups 9.) I can't go one day without being bloated 8.) Not having enough time to eat a whole, decent meal because I don't have the time to cook/ lack of convience 7.) The pointless use of 'barely malt' in any food items... -
Hey y'all. I just wondering if anyone else is (or was) in JROTC in Highschool or ROTC in college? Sometimes I feel like the only one on here who's in JROTC! Today Vanderbilt had a Drill Invitational and my unit went. My Color Guard team did really good! My commander forgot to call a movement, but, the judges said our precision was excellent. In case...
