  1. Food coloring has to be declared doesn't it? Well, i went hunting around for some marshmellows the other day and found these: Open Original Shared Link Ingredients: Corn Syrup, Sugar, Modified Food Starch (Corn), Dextrose, Water, Gelatin, Natural And Artificial Flavor, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate. The kraft version had blue food coloring...
  2. I was unable to find the Kikkoman gluten free soy sauce, but i did find San-j. I got the Black label version. So what do i need to know about this sauce? Hints? Tips? Anything? I've been wanting a good stir fry for quite some time. Or some Japanese food.... I did notice on the label they use "alcohol". Am i right to assume that its either rice or...
  3. Don't go off of gluten until all of the testing is done. No, those with celiac do not handle any trace amounts of gluten at all.
  4. Early in my diet i cheated 3 times... Never again...
  5. Perhaps you can go to your doctor and get a note so that your schools disability center may be able to help you? Accommodations and whatnot? I'm not sure what they would be able to do without an "official" dx, but seeing as your sick enough as it is, you may be able to qualify for note taking and whatnot if you have to miss your classes. I would contact...
  6. Regardless, I believe with those symptoms its clear enough what it is.
  7. brown rice is pretty good if you can handle it.
  8. Heating pads. I've used them to help recover from surgery to regular aches and pains. Something about heat (as long as it isn't too hot) helps in healing.
  9. Give it some time. You've just started. I would recommend, however, to drop any processed foods for a while and stick to a whole foods, as they can be hard on a healing gut.
  10. Oatmeal can cause people to have similar reactions. I cannot eat it anymore because i get a stomach ache from it. Chocolate, on the other hand, is one of the trigger foods for acid reflux. Some people can handle it, while others cannot. You'll find as you go along that there are probably going to be foods that, before the gluten free diet, you had...

  12. I'm rereading The lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring. It has been many years since i have read it and i'm enjoying every minute of it.
  13. Ask to have a full celiac panel done (i don't have the list on me at the moment, but i have no doubt someone on here will have it ). If it comes back positive, then the next step would be the endoscopy to biopsy the small intestine. There is also the genetic test that can look for the two genes that are commonly found with celiac (HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8). However...
  14. Yes, you could. I've heard others say on here that they've have an oven-like item for their car. Since you stay in a hotel, you could bring things like a crock pot or a rice cooker. I wouldn't think that you would be too far away from a store.
  15. 1. Allergy testing? No, that will not effect it. The allergy test is generally a skin prick test where they use a needle to inject a small amount of whatever element they are testing for under the skin and wait to see if a hive develops. 2. Yes, yes, and yes. In order for any blood work to come back positive, you must be consuming gluten. There is debate...
  16. Gonna watch the live event for the sneak peak for the next movie in the Hobbit trilogy. Starts in 6 mins yay!
  17. You can always contact the company if you have any questions about any of their products. However, with that disclaimer, I wouldn't eat it.
  18. It can be hard... certainly... First thing is first.... Go read the stuff on here: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Stick with a whole foods diet for now to give your gut a chance to heal. Ask the GI if you can have a vitamin panel done to see what your levels are. Celiac can cause deficiencies. As for a dietitian...
  19. Does sonic have good cleaning practices and whatnot? I have no idea. I do know, however, people on here rave about the chocolate frosties at wendy's...
  20. You won't find anything that is exactly the same. Similar, certainly. But the same? Nope.
  21. The longer he has been off, there is possibility that the symptoms will worsen once it has been reintroduced.
  22. What were the ranges for those numbers? Did he have a total IGA ran as well? Or were those tests the only ones done?
  23. Pork... its not agreeing with me.
  24. Anxiety can be a symptom of celiac. Heck it can be a symptom of a lot of things. It just likes to tag along.
  25. How long were you gluten free before? I was off of it for 4 weeks before my endo and it ended up as a negative.
