ARCHIVED Re-Blood Test On 4Months Gluten-Free Diet
shadowicewolf replied to KimT's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
1. negative 2. not sure 3. yes 4. i have no knowldege of this 5. Every one is different. Just because your nephew has issues with it doesn't mean you will. I, for one, am perfectly fine with chex. I had a positive blood test, negative biopsy (done after 4 weeks gluten free), and a positive genetic test (both genes noted). My GI doctor never gave me... -
Errr... typically, standing is where you are at now. So basically what your gradepoint adverage for your classes. From my understanding, they reviewed your record up until you started to go down hill.

ARCHIVED The Stomach Flu
shadowicewolf replied to shadowicewolf's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't drink those anymore because it used to set my GERD off for some strange reason. That test should be anymore than an hour so hopefully i can make it through it. Then its a three day weekend for me. So hopefully i can get over this by then. Its funny though i showed up for my last class on monday (looking like the dead) because i couldn't get... -
ARCHIVED The Stomach Flu
shadowicewolf replied to shadowicewolf's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I might try that. It can't hurt at this point. Other than that, i've been trying to sleep more (ugh, been having a hard time sleeping through the night), and drinking a lot of water. But the "D" has decided to make a reappearence. Me thinks i jumped the gun with the food, but it tasted sooo goooooood. Tommorow, i think i might try to make some homemade... -
Ugh, so i've been sick since monday morning (where i quite literally had to walk out of my first class due to the need to visit the porcilin throne more then necissary). It was pretty bad and i had went so much that i had bright red blood in my "D". I also had a fever. So this spurred me to make an appointment to the on campus clinic. To my joy, i got...

ARCHIVED Something Is Wrong...
shadowicewolf replied to itsnikki's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Get your gallbladder checked. After i went gluten free, i still had pain in my side that i had for about 6 or so years before that. They kept saying it wasn't it, then i had the HIDA scan done and lo and behold it was working at 5%. By the time i got it out, the assistant surgeon said it looked dead. I still can't eat greasy foods, however that is due... -

ARCHIVED 18M Old - With Genetics Against Her
shadowicewolf replied to Aprilelayne's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Mine were done in about a week. Poor baby! It is a good thing your are addressing this now and not later. I lived with "D" for a long time before i went gluten free. Cold shower the area then add corn starch baby powder seemed to help the most. Carrots, or so i've heard, can help slow down "D". -
ARCHIVED Joint Pain Caused By Gluten Intolerance?
shadowicewolf replied to spirit-walk's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yep. I've always had issues with my knees. Now, after i've gone gluten free, the only time they act up is when a storm is coming in or if i've walked to much. Yay! -
ARCHIVED How To Pronounce Celiac

ARCHIVED Am I Re-Glutening Myself With Something Every Day Or Is This A Super Long Glutening?
shadowicewolf replied to aquaholical's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
what about toothpastes and whatnot, did you verify those? As for the food, after i went gluten free i became allergic to tomatoes (not surprising though, they had been giving me stomach issues, then it exploded into something else). I can no longer handle fatty foods well (like bacon for example) as it gives me a belly ache and causes my GERD to react... -
ARCHIVED Changes Or Improvements You Noticed............
shadowicewolf replied to Gemme's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED Medical Mystery?
shadowicewolf replied to New Community Member's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
when i was first dx'd i couldn't keep anything down or stop the ever present 'D'. After i went gluten free, both stopped. I had no "clear" evidence in my small intestent but that was done 4 weeks after i went gluten free (to the day i believe). I rarely ever have stomach issues anymore, this includes the 'D" i used to have at least once a week. Now... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have Bad Reactions To Quinoa?
shadowicewolf replied to GlutenFreeManna's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't eat straight quinoa. I normally eat it in my pasta that is mixed with corn. I normally have that once a week or so and sometimes if i eat to much i get that feeling but its probably because i over ate. -
ARCHIVED Have You Guys Been So Afraid To Eat...
shadowicewolf replied to Persei V.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
1.5 years later, I'm still afraid to eat. I do try, but i fall back into my "is it gonna make me sick? Am i allergic to it?" rutine. Doesn't help that i'm getting over a bad case of stomach flu (going around at my uni, and of course i just had to catch it). So i'm on the iffy side of things for the rest of the week. -

ARCHIVED Did You Have A Trigger That Started Your Symptoms?
shadowicewolf replied to afreeclimber74's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had "ibs" since i was about 12. It got to the point where i would have to take pepto to go out and about (and sometimes this wouldn't work). If that wasn't bad enough i used to have "going" issues, i'd have to go about every half hour to an hour. It was even worse when my so called "ibs" was kicked in with it. I used to have headaches and nosebleeds... -
I know somewhat how that feels. When i went in for my gallbladder removal (even though it was only a day thing), my nurse was the only one who knew what it actually was :< I had to indicate to the others otherwise. Once again this was the best hospital in my state. I don't expect them to know everything because they are the best.
