  1. The only General Mills fruit snacks that I have found to have gluten are the "Twistables" that are like licorice and also there are some roll-up ones called Air-Head Extremes that are listed as containing wheat. We do not buy the Gushers anymore, but not because of gluten it was for dental reasons! My kids had a LOT of dental problems before going gluten...
  2. My kids love both the Rich Chocolate Ovaltine and the Carnation Instant Breakfast Chocolate powder. Now both probably have the same CC risk since both products have other flavors which contain malt, but they don't ever seem to have any issues with either product and they are all pretty severe in their reactions when they do get glutened... Neither product...
  3. I love the Kinnikinnick pizza crusts. I have found that the trick to get the best texture is to keep the crust frozen until it is time to prepare it, then microwave each crust for 1 minute each. This makes the crust warm and soft and partially cooks it. Then put the toppings on and bake at 350 (no higher than 375!) for about 10 minutes or until the cheese...
  4. Have her go to the dermatologist. They will take a small skin sample and test the bumps to see if it is DH. If it is, then she has Celiac disease as DH only occurs in Celiac patients. The treatment would be the gluten free diet. I have had a skin sample taken before and basically they take a little metal thing that is like a tiny cookie cutter and...
  5. I'm glad it wasn't shingles, and I hope you feel better soon. I did have something to add about shingles though. Both my boys have had shingles. They had the chicken pox when they were 3 & 1 1/2 (oldest got it and gave it to the younger...) and my youngest son got a mild case of shingles when he was about 3. They looked like individual blisters...
  6. I know exactly where Scotts Valley is, been there thousands of times! My grandparents used to live in Ben Lomond and my husband lived in Scotts Valley for a while before we were married. I actually envy the fact that you can get fresh strawberries and buy so many that they might go bad if you don't freeze them. I used to live in Watsonville and the...
  7. I don't know where to start. I have been losing weight since starting the Isagenix Weight Management Program in October 2006. I have gone from 172 lbs. to 126 lbs. in just over 6 months. I am so happy. Above is a simulation of what I look like now. I can't believe it myself. I thought I would never be thin again. I was 120 when I got married 14 years...
  8. Hi I am posting this here in defense of myself...It has been suggested by another member that I am on here "recruiting" other members for a multi-level-marketing business. This is incorrect and if I was promoting my own business it would be a direct violation of the board rules, that as a moderator I am required to enforce! I do admit that Isagenix is...
  9. It certainly does matter most what happens in each individual's body in regards to soy. Each person will have a different tolerance to it. I am allergic (IgE mediated allergy) and I do not have a problem with the oils or lecithin (which is derived from soybean oil). Even this article here from the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network mentions that studies...
  10. For me I am allergic (itchy rash and breathing trouble) to the soy proteins, and I tolerate the oils and lecithin just fine. I still try to limit them, but I don't avoid them outright. About the only time I every knowingly eat soy protein is when we go to P.F. Chang's and I order some of their gluten-free dishes that contain wheat free soy sauce and I follow...

    ARCHIVED In N Out

Okay, I've got to ask...cheesy fries well done? Is this extra crispy fries with cheese on them? My kids would love the extra crispy fries, but not the cheese. My boys don't eat cheese. They never have and they even hate the smell of cheese. Now milk, yogurt, ice cream, shakes, and pretty much any dairy product is fine. But not cheese. Weird kids huh...

    ARCHIVED In N Out

The sauce would be gluten free, except they slap it on with a spatula out of a vat, then the spatula goes back in the vat, etc...so it gets a lot of CC from the buns. The ketchup and mustard are in squeeze bottles and are gluten free. I order mine : Double-Double, protein style, ketchup & mustard instead of sauce (sometimes with, sometimes without...
  13. I know what you mean! I do have to eliminate the freshly baked goodies in my house. I have gotten to the point that I try to only make what we paln to eat that day. I freeze cookie dough in baggies to make 1 dozen at a time. I only make 1 pie or 1 brownie mix, etc. and I give away extras as much as possible. Yesterday (Easter Sunday) I pigged out...
  14. I cut my sugar intake severely and try not to exceed 50 grams a day. I also try to get that from natural sources as much as possible and avoid processed sugar. My sugar cravings are virtually gone. I do occasionally go over the 50 grams and I find the more I have the more I want! Today I am not following my regular dietary allowances and have already...
  15. Hi Adam, and thanks. I am down 44 pounds now and am happy to be maintaining 128! I haven't been in my 120's since before I had my first child 13 years ago! How are the IsaFruits? I haven't tried it because I am already pushing it with the Ionix Supreme in regards to stevia. I have a bad reaction to it if I get too much. The 1 oz. of Ionix Supreme...

  17. I made it to 130 (barely) by my birthday last Friday. I did eat that angel food cake! Half of it! My kids ate the other half! I have since lost another 2 pounds. I am now 128 and I can't believe it! Everybody around me keeps asking me what I am doing to lose all the weight. I am glad I am doing it now, but I wish I had found Isagenix years ago. My...
  18. Thanks Kathleen. Now I know that if my kids or I need it that we can take the generic. The prevalence of the Valley Fever fungus is very high here in central California and a lot of people get it every year. Once you get it though, you can't get it again...But fluconazole is what they prescribe for it if you get really sick. Sorry that you had to do...
  19. I use Pillsbury most often. I have found that only the coconut caramel frosting has gluten in it (at last check) and we tend to use either the vanilla, white, chocolate or chocolate fudge flavors. The other brands tend to have more flavors with gluten in them and I don't like taking chances. I once got mixed up with it and frosted all my gluten free cupcakes...
  20. I don't know about the generic fluconazole, but if you find out could you post it? My husband takes this daily for a fungal infection called coccidiomycosis (Valley Fever) and about a year or so ago is when they switched over to generic. I think because it is fairly new to the drug scene the generic hasn't made it onto any lists yet, or else it isn't gluten...
  21. I got some plain egg protein and have been trying to blend it with some cocoa powder for my shake. I can't get the plain egg to blend right. It comes out either chunky or if I mix it enough to be smooth then it is frothy (like egg would be if it was whipped!) and I end up gassy and bloated from ingesting too much air. I can't take it anymore. I need...
  22. But they don't deep fry the nuggets or fish anymore, they bake them on trays in a little oven thing, right? I've seen them pulling them out of the ovens. Or are those just warming ovens?
  23. I personally don't eat McDonald's food, but that is for weightloss/health reasons. I do believe they are gluten free because they had them tested and they were fine. So for my kids, I let them eat the fries once a month, not usually more than that because all that grease isn't healthy. They never have had a reaction to them. Occasionally two of the three...
  24. Hi Jodi, You want a recipe right? Not a mix? I use a mix and just add whatever I need to it. With 4 of us gluten free I just don't always have time to mix up a recipe and these come out great every time! It is Kinni-Kwik Bread and Bun Mix by Kinnikinnick. I purchase a bulk order from them every few months and keep the frozen breads, pizza crust,...
  25. There really isn't anything that you can do to stop the pain, but I have found that if I drink a cup or so of tonic water (the stuff used for mixed drinks with quinine in it) right away as soon as I realise I've been glutened, then it helps the pain to be less severe. Also she does need to try to get some water in her, especially if she has vomiting or the...
