ARCHIVED Stinky Gluten Free Bread
come dance with me replied to alwaysamazed's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I make bread and it smells and tastes fine. I bought bread, and it was in the fridge for a few days. The first time I opened it when we first bought it there was no bad smell to it, but a few days later I opened it again and for some reason it had the smell of bad wine, or fermented grapes. No wine or grapes, so I don't know what caused the smell but it hasn... -
ARCHIVED Beer ?
come dance with me replied to fourlisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We have one called O'Brien's but I haven't found it in town yet even after the search told me there are 3 outlets that sell it. I want to see if it's ok because when my LO is 18 I want her to be able to have a low-alcohol drink. I'm a beer drinker myself and can have a few before I'm over the limit but I never have enough to be over the limit anyway. I... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Handle Sleepovers?
come dance with me replied to smoky's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Mine has never had a sleep-over with a friend. Only with family and they have gone gluten free anyway. We have had kids here for a sleepover and I make meals that are naturally gluten free rather than try to give them things they may not like. I tend to have rice dishes mainly and the ones who have stayed over have been given their own cereal and a small... -
ARCHIVED Gas Station Cappuccino
come dance with me replied to UIDancer's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
My point was simply that if it contained any gluten it would be in the chocolate powder. I will stay out of this now. It's being misinterpreted and I don't feel like explaining the same thing over and over again. -
ARCHIVED Gas Station Cappuccino
come dance with me replied to UIDancer's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
We are not lactose intolerant we are vegan. However my point was that the ones *I* have seen contain gluten in the chocolate powder. I'm sorry if that offended anyone :/ -
ARCHIVED What Are The Easiest Countries To Live Gluten-Free?
come dance with me replied to KevinG's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I'm in Australia and we have no problems with a gluten free diet. I love our labelling laws and the way we have options when eating out. We are vegan too and have no problems at all with vegan and gluten free and that's in rural Australia -

ARCHIVED Gas Station Cappuccino
come dance with me replied to UIDancer's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Most of the ones I've seen contain gluten in the chocolate powder but we can't have them because of the milk anyway. -
ARCHIVED Had Weetabix But Haven't Had A Reaction?
come dance with me replied to speedy2056's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's not always that an actual physical reaction will occur either. But that doesn't mean that your body isn't having damage done to it even if an immediate physical reaction doesn't occur. -
ARCHIVED Super-Sensitives--How Often Do You Get Glutened?
come dance with me replied to GlutenFreeManna's topic in Super Sensitive People
My Miss 8 is very sensitive but my whole family is now gluten free for her. My little bro was anyway because his Autism is better on the diet but now my older brother and his family are and my mum went gluten free with us. Much of what we eat is made from things grown in my garden or the garden of my brother or my mum. -

ARCHIVED Making Fun Of Gluten Issues On New Cbs Show
come dance with me replied to Kate79's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I won't watch sitcoms anymore. The only shows I like to watch are those crime shows or British sitcoms but I rarely watch any of them. Those current affair type show p*ss me off too because I'm a sole parent in a low income part of town which means I basically live off society (I work full time but none of that seems to matter to these people - apparently... -
ARCHIVED Do I Need A Diagnosis?
come dance with me replied to saundiie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Nah we had the blood test but nothing else because her blood test showed up positive for the gene and positive for the coeliac antibodies and my blood test showed up positive for the gene but negative for antibodies then on a gluten free diet everything changed and I wasn't willing to put her under anaesthetic for anything like that when there are ways around... -
ARCHIVED Can An Infant Have Gluten Problems?
come dance with me replied to glutenfreemamax2's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My nephew was a screamer for the first 3 months of his life. His parents are vegan so they weren't having any dairy or eggs at all anyway then I said to try a gluten free diet since my LO is coeliac and it's genetic and it's from my side not her father's side. My brother's wife cut out gluten from her diet and now he poos easily and sleeps better and is... -
ARCHIVED Non Celiac Going Gluten-free
come dance with me replied to krazikat's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Although still relevant as a whole, this thread is from 2005 and that person has either become gluten free or not by now so it's not relevent to that particular person anymore. To continue the general discussion however, I am on a gluten free diet because my daughter is a senitive coeliac which means we cannot have gluten in the home or in the car at all... -
Yeah exactly.

ARCHIVED No Gluten Free Food In The Entire Stadium.?
come dance with me replied to Karla01's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The office can't help much. They would have people who run the food stalls that they pay to come out. Those people will provide what they provide and the stadium won't be able to sway them. -
I don't know about over there but here the hospital wouldn't allow for gluten free :/

ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)
come dance with me replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
A lot will say contains gluten if it has wheat glucose in it because they don't want to take the chance of cross contamination. That's what they told me anyway! -
ARCHIVED No Gluten Free Food In The Entire Stadium.?
come dance with me replied to Karla01's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
We take our own to AFL or wherever. That way if we find something that's gluten free it's a bonus but otherwise we have our own food. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Kitchen
come dance with me replied to azmontessoriteacher's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED In Defense Of 20 Parts Per Million
come dance with me replied to psawyer's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We are lucky indeed. I'd never move away from Oz. -
ARCHIVED Playdough - Is The Concern Ingestion Or Also Touch?
come dance with me replied to Anya's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
The problem is that there is often flour on the outside of the playdough that rubs off onto hands as they play with it. I make our playdough with gluten free flour to avoid this. -
ARCHIVED Not So Gluten Free
come dance with me replied to Mommy2GlutenFreeChild's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Our first 2 months were like that. We are a completely gluten free house now because it was too hard to have gluten-free food for Miss 8 and gluten food for myself without making her sick. It's all trial and error really and it is a huge learning curve for everyone involved. The more you learn the more you realise you have so much more to learn still!
