  1. I'm glad they got back to you. Now you can safely enjoy your favorite lipstick. Thanks for sharing what you learned.
  2. It's safe. Some hair care products contain wheat protein ingredients to fortify the hair. Rye or barley wouldn't normally be used in them, which is why they weren't mentioned. They told you about the silk because it's what they use instead of wheat proteins. Enjoy your shiny hair!
  3. I stand by my recommendation of the B vitamin complex. The swelling is what caught my attention. A B1 shortage can cause it. B vitamins are water soluable. Whatever your body doesn't need is passed out through your urine. They don't build up. Doubling up on a multi-vitamin might give you a bit too much of something and throw things out of whack? B vitamin...
  4. I would recommend trying gluten-free. The neuro issues are slow to heal, so it may take a while for you to see any effect? They can also become permanent to some degree if you are Celiac, and don't stay away from gluten. Some Celiacs test negative on blood tests, some have no damage visible when scoped, some have only neuro symptoms. It can present in...
  5. Hello..and welcome! A lot of us have gone through years of health issues that didn't seem to have obvious causes. It sounds like you're on the right track going to see a GI? Ask for the Celiac panel, in case he doesn't think of it. Once your testing is done, you may want to try gluten-free no matter what the results? They say 20-30% of us test negative...
  6. I think the trick is finding the things you react to? It sounds like you're on top of it? Best wishes for much improved health! Those gluten-free tags sure help narrow down the list of things we have to read the labels on?
  7. Hello and welcome! Be sure to read around the board a bit. There's tons of useful info that you won't find all in one place anywhere else...and it's posted with a smile! e sure to ask any questions that come up.
  8. Awww...how sweet. It feels weird when you drop your fur baby off for surgery and walk out without them. I'm sure she'll do fine..it seems like it's harder on us than them sometimes?
  9. If your cats are eating foods with gluten they *could* cc you. If you notice..they like to lick their fur after eating. That leaves some gluten on their fur, which you can get on your hands from petting them. You'll have to be very careful about touching your mouth without thinking. Be sure to wash your hands frequently. The gluten-free pet foods...
  10. We have a Bloodhound. We were told that they're very hard to train and don't usually do well in obdience training. There are even horor stories of them acting up when competeing in dog shows. They're also known for eating strange things, and being very protective of their food, and not wanting their feet or ears touched.messed with. Of course our...
  11. I haven't tried the Solgar brand vitamins, but I hear good things about them. Currently I'm taking Vitacost B-100 complex. It has the usual B vitamins, along with choline and inositol. I did a quick check and the Solgar brand of B-complex looks the same? I'll try putting a link but I don't know if it will work? When we are stressed our bodies burn through...
  12. Goin' good as long as they don't try prying my coffee cup out of my hand! LOL
  13. Whether you gain weight or not depends on the condition of your intestine. If you have villi damage from gluten you may not be able to absorb what you're eating.(I'm assuming you have Celiac?) Or you could have SIBO, yeast, or a parasite. There are tests and treatments for these things. It sounds like it's time to see your Dr.? For a frame of reference...
  14. I'm with you! I can live without bread..but they better not try to take my morning coffee away.
  15. It's hard to know what that number means without the reference scale. Keep her on gluten until you see the Dr. They may want to do some follow up testing.
  16. It seems like there should be some restrictions in place to keep China from shipping their toxic things here! Kids toys and jewelry..and now food too?
  17. Hello...and welcome!
  18. Here's another good site: Open Original Shared Link
  19. I found this site which recommends a couple of books. Open Original Shared Link The explanation of a rotation diet is good too.
  20. Your symptoms could fit with celiac. Ask to be tested. You could also possibly need digestive enzymes? If your pancreas is inflamed it will cause pain in the area you described, and may not be producing the enzymes you need to digest your food well? It's also common with Celiacs.
  21. I know it's hard to take our babies in for procedures. If only we could explain it to them so they'd understand? She'll be ouchy at first, but if she gets the spring in her step back she'll be so much better off! Some people think Friday the 13th is a lucky day. I hope it will be for you and Ally.
  22. It's possible you could be reacting to soy? It's probably in your vitamins/supplements which is why you feel bad every day, no matter what you eat? Can you try eliminating every trace of soy for about a week and see if it helps? It's tricky because it hides in a lot of things. Also, a B1 (thiamin) deficiency can cause water retention, especially in...
  23. Roasted chicken: Rinse a whole 2-3lb chicken, dry with paper towel, Season inside and out with a sprinkle of salt. You can push herbs under the skin if you wish-I don't. Place in roasting pan. Bake at 400* about an hour. The chicken is good just roasted, but you could add apricot jelly thinned with a bit of water as a glaze after the chicken has roasted...
  24. Salmon patties: 1 can Pink Salmon 14.75oz-drained 1 can Red Sockeye Salmon 7.5oz-drained 1 small onion finely minced 1 or 2 eggs (depending on size) 1/2teas. salt 1cup gluten-free Rice Krispies ground up Drain Salmon and add to large bowl. Break up Salmon and smash any bones with the back side of a spoon. Add finely minced onion and mix. Add eggs...
  25. Breakfast could be cereal, egg omelette with any fresh or left over veggies, toast with peanut butter, bacon and fruit, then rotate or change things up. Your oatmeal makes me nervous because it's so east to get cc though. Add sunflower seeds or other nuts for a snack. You can make Krispy Treats with gluten-free Rice Krispies and coconut oil instead of...
