  1. Yes and no. You are probably going through withdrawal/detox from gluten. Also, many celiacs are intolerant to milk - either while trying to heal or permanently. It's probably good to go gluten and milk (casein and lactose) free for a while, then try adding back milk. Don't be surprised if other food problems pop up in the near future. They could be...
  2. Google "thyca" and read the diet guidelines.
  3. A hand mixer is fine. Mixing by hand probably not as good. gluten-free bread mixes are watery vs. firm so you font need a jet engine to mix it.
  4. Don't know but mine has always been on the lower end.
  5. Ok. Tried the Udi's cinnamon rolls. If you like gooey rolls with lots of filling they aren't for you. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavor - but they are dry. They don't "fill" them at all. Microwave them to heat them, don't use an oven. I'd even suggest a damp paper towel over the top.
  6. Use egg+ egg white. Most gluten-free recipes call for 1-2 eggs plus 3 egg whites. Egg whites mimic gluten by stretching. Mix it about 3-4 minutes on medium in a mixer. That activates the xanthan gum and makes it stretch. Most gluten-free bread dough is very wet. If yours isn't that may be a sign of imminent failure. If you haven't used any gluten...
  7. Ever seen the movie Get Him To The Greek??? Well, it's like I smoked a Jeffrey. Gluten and salicylates trigger an overstimulation if my adrenals - complemented by a feeling that someone closed doors in the hallways of my brain. So, it's like my thoughts are going down the hallways, but can't get in certain rooms to get the info they need. And when I'm...
  8. Lots of things work. Potatoes do not. So if you make a soup, etc. don't add potatoes. You can season a roast or any chunk of meat, freeze with veggies but add potatoes later. They change texture. Also, and I hate to mention this...,I did the same - worked my hiney off to freeze stuff before he got here. Then he arrived with a milk protein intolerance and...
  9. Thyroid. Primary symptom.
  10. No. Iodine takes away one ingredient needed for the rash to erupt. Don't know how it will work if you're still choking down gluten, though. Until you go gluten-free that rash is going to be bonkers, best guess. Try reducing iodine and see.
  11. They don't run the test routinely. And most gp's don't recognize Fifth's/Parvo B19. They sent me to a Rheumy when I got it. He recognized it. It's VERY contagious. In adultsit can cause nasty and long-term misery.
  12. I don't know where you go but I had Parvo B19 and it was BAD. they thought I had Lupus or RA. A few years later I started trying to get pregnant and the Endometriosis hit. After I had my son the Hashis hit. After Hashis (6 years?), I'm figuring out Celiac. I've always assumed Parvo was the trigger but I can look back to childhood and see things...
  13. Well, the whole Pre-existing thing is supposed to be minimized or abolished soon; the key "supposed". Try testing through Enterolab. Most insurance companies won't pay for it, good chance they won't ask them for records. Call and ask.
  14. Ask to be tested for Fifths Disease. If you've recently had it, your antibody count will be very high. It's BS if they say only kids get it. Aside from that, sounds like an allergic reaction except for the achey part. Many autoimmune issues are mistaken as allergies/viruses.
  15. Exactly. Don't buy gluten and they can't have it at home. I'm sure you'll create lots of great gluten-free baked goods, etc. to replace them. And teens can always get a fix when they are out. I'm sure you'll have lots of interested munchers and customers. gluten-free bakeries are rare and I hope you become one more.
  16. May not have been gluten. May be iodine - as in iodized salt, seafood, sea salt, dairy, etc. Go on a gluten free, low-iodone diet (see description googling "thyca"). If it's DH you should see relief quick, since DH needs iodine to create the sores. Aside from stopping new sores, everyone has their own way of getting through a breakout. Ice packs and...
  17. Yes, coco is gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link That's a relief!
  18. Nope. But 1 can of Coco Lopez, 1 can of rum, and pineapple juice to taste make a mighty yummy drink! Check Tge coco Lopez - don't know if it's gluten-free. Crap!
  19. Fajitas!!! And a tiny bit of really good tequila and gluten-free creme br
  20. I'm guessing you'll be finding another doctor.
  21. If you seem to have problems adding food you may want to break down and try something like the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I hear it helps a lot of people add back foods.
  22. Especially if it cracks, warps or ruins the oven bottom. Risks we take for food. (:
  23. Agreed. But in still going to order it and see.
  24. I haven't noticed my DH flaring, but wheat germ oil in the dog shampoo made my lower arms/hands ache and swell. My eyes were swelling from the Devita stuff. Who knows, but it's probably better gluten-free.
  25. Others may have had that discussion before but you've got two right here that put their iron skillets up there with "things you grab in a fire". Or, in my family's case - hurricane. So, as we know we could - there's that breathe-stopping moment (or two) of realizing you must remove YEARS of seasoning (and thus put YEARS) back on. I still tear up. I need...
