  1. Hey there, Can anyone explain why organic dairy is supposed to contain less iodine? From what I've found organically fed and traditionally fed cows are both cleaned with iodine before milking (and thats part of what shows up in the milk). Also, just because feed is organic it doesn't mean it's iodine-free. Can anyone cite a source of this info other...
  2. Wow, I'm glad yours is clearing up. You have a HOLE? I can't believe they didn't stitch it or do something to make it heal better since it's on your face. I'm scheduled for Sep. 8. My rash is under my arms, down to my bra line and up above my pits. I keep scoping it out thinking of where I won't let him biopsy so I can still wear a bra. I...
  3. Do funny you posted today. Was just on the phone and REMEMBERED a name of an actor I was trying to describe to my mother. Usually o have to look up a movie to get the name. Yes, better. Watch out world!
  4. I eat it quite frequently and it's great. They also make queso which is NOT gluten-free.
  5. I found Country Life. Iodine and iron free - gluten, soy, wheat, milk free. It's multi vitamin and mineral - Daily Total One.
  6. Well, I found one that's carageenan free and has "salt", not sea salt - Hemp Bliss Original Unsweetened. I'll give it a whirl tomorrow in my chai. Btw - it was the ONLY one without carageenan and sea salt.
  7. Or just make some pancakes, waffles or crepes and Put the blueberry sauce on it. Top with whipped cream (or not). If you put just a bit of sugar or honey it will be pretty thick, depending on how juicy the berries are. Don't "can" the blueberries without using a tested method; don't alter the sugar ratio for canning. That can render preservation useless...

  9. It could be either. My grandfather gets severe depression from anesthesia and it isn't immediately obvious (at least to us). It can last months. Also, you may need t3/t4 thyroid meds. Or, you may not be getting enough. What face wash are you using?
  10. I'd test her. Yes, testing is unreliable BUT she's 3 and you can make her do it. Why do I say that? Because when she's older she may raise Cain. Also, you don't want to not have "proof" if schools, etc. ask for it. Additionally, she may have a worse reaction during a challenge. I'd ask for antibody panels and genetic testing up front. I'd also do...
  11. Lol, I don't think I'd ever give up sugar (at least to the extent put in bread) so I wouldn't be "adding". I love cream of wheat, hadn't thought of that! Thanks. I eat some gluten-free yeast breads so yeast would be null like sugar. If I used non-iodized salt, salt would be null too. Btw, I'd have to dump in a ton of applesauce, cinnamon and maple...
  12. I agree, if you ate Fair Food (yum), you got more than gluten. I've thought of how to do a challenge and came to the conclusion I'd have to buy very good plain bread (wheat, salt, water, yeast, sugar) and eat ONLY that in addition to a gluten-free diet for a true wheat-only challenge. So, if you're eating "normal" foods you'll never know if it's just...
  13. And if you are able to eat, try a digestive enzyme with each meal. I use enzymedica digest gold. It helps digest food in the stomach so your tract has an easier time. If I take too many per day (3+) I actually get diarrhea. You may also add a probiotic.
  14. Hi there, I need a salt, soy, carageenan free milk substitute for a few weeks. Can anyone reco one? Many thanks!
  15. Well, I have Hashis and didn't know you could have both. I've also had palpitations; however, they have pretty much stopped since going gluten-free AND taking a multivitamin - I think magnesium/calcium is supposed to be key. Good luck. Now I have to rethink things, grrr.
  16. I love Hershey's kisses which are supposed to be ok. My favorite bar, not mainstream - is Kind -- almond and coconut. I could live on those things.
  17. Timothy, you may also consider salicylate sensitivity. It's very common and almost every "spice" is high in sal. If you toss in any type of gluten prob with sals you can have a mess. Especially with yeast. Ouch.
  18. Have any of you seen the descriptions in this book: Essentials of diseases of the skin By Henry Weightman Stelwagon? Its the ONLY description like this on the appearance of DH I've ever read. Open Original Shared Link
  19. Hey there, I need help finding a good multivitamin/mineral supplament that is iodine-free. I probably have DH so I need to stay off iodine until the sores heal. Any reco's are welcomed!
  20. I don't know. I know there's a link with Celiac and infertility. You may try Dr. Lee's books on pre/peri menopause and progesterone. My labs for hormones came back normal for most... but they were at the lowest low (one was actually lower than lowest low) given any phase of my cycle. My Naturapath says they need to come up to feel better so she...
  21. I had that years ago. It may have been gluten symptoms... but it finally did go away. I tried ever med under the sun, nothing worked. Had to resort to 16 oz of water in the a.m. and constant water all day to tone it down. No acidicic foods. Had to use visualization to get rid of it. Then I got pregnant and that solved just about every endometriosis...
  22. Yes, most hypos are helped by certain supplements - vit D among them. But most need t4/t3 supplements - especially if they are suffering (and you are). And I'd bet a ton of $ that its more than just vit D. It is ALWAYS more than one thing. That is the only "truth" I've found. If gluten-free makes you feel better, go gluten-free. I'd also demand a...
  23. Did y'all talk about thyroid meds??? Did he test for Hashimotos? As you know, bloodwork is famous for being wrong. Why don't you do a stool test from Enterolab?
  24. Could be gluten. Did they put you under for the colonoscopy? Some people experience depression after being anesthetized.
  25. Yes, you pretty much nailed it. However im 40 and refuse to believe it's more than half over. Maybe when you feel better you'll feel that way too!
