  1. T3/t4 but at second thought I did start a ton of vitamins at the same time. Which I then stopped because I was an idiot.
  2. You got me!
  3. I call that "thyroid brain" or ai brain. Thyroid supplaments helped within days. Unfortunately it still comes back from time to time... FROM GLUTEN.
  4. You might try adding a bit of probiotic to her drink? That could help her GI tract repopulate. I have had a horrible time finding one that will mix in to a liquid...maybe make a smoothie or find a liquid form? Screen it for gluten Also, she may have an easier time if you pull her off cows milk for a while. If she is Celiac she may have a temporary or...
  5. Either cook the heck out of it or barely cook it. I like to simmer it with a bit of onion, bell pepper and celery (1/4c each) and equal parts tomato. Maybe 30 minutes or till it all blends? Serve over rice.
  6. Quinoa and tumbleweeds. Nah, too hot for anything...I'm into kabobs lately. Lundberg has a great "roasted brown rice couscous" that is very good. so how bout kabobs, couscous, some low-sal veggies (you'll have to help on that one) on the grill? Or a freakin cheeseburger. Are there any gluten-free buns you can have? If not, wrap it in lettuce!
  7. Dani, we always need a sane and sober person to drive . I dont normally pms that badly but my doc put me on that dang estrogen/progesterone cream and it is terrible. I stopped it a few days ago because it's time for my period and I had terrible ovarian pain (it's the estrogen not the progesterone doing this). I don't think I'm doing the estrogen...
  8. You know space aliens don't have Celiac because they make crop circles in wheat fields.
  9. Big hugs to you, mama! Been there, done that with the constipated baby. Sigh. Fruits, veggies, meats will all be gluten-free. For snacks you can buy gluten-free crackers. You can buy gluten-free pastas, too. Breads come gluten-free. Learn to read labels on foods. Many mainstream items are gluten-free if you know what to screen out. /celiac-disease...
  10. I haven't found a flavored "safe" vodka that doesn't give me a headache. BK doesn't do it for me. I'll take a homemade one! And I'll eat my chocolate .
  11. Thank you, I will! As soon as I chop up all the people I live with and make soup from their bones.... I explained to hubs that I wanted to gut him...for no particular reason except that he was breathing and nearby. Poor guy got insulted. I do like my dog, except when he breathes and wants to touch me. It's so dang hot here! I got a razor...
  12. Glad you're doing better. Your anger is gone because I have it. Of course, I have pms and feel like I want to kill people and cry at the same time. And if someone doesn't produce some chocolate and a cheeseburger I'm going to go off the rails.
  13. Problem is I'm in AZ and grass fed is uh, not likely. I can get raw milk from a farmer (and she's babied beyond belief-one happy Jersey) and she has a pasture, etc but grass is just not here. Sigh. Oh well, it's good to know ghee is a "go"! Thanks!!
  14. An ND is a Naturapathic doctor. Open Original Shared Link Yes, all you can do is encourage him. Or hit him over the head and deliver him to the appointment.
  15. I'll try to find the link to where I found it...but I swear you hear 20 things all different. I turned down a share in a milk cow because I'm trying to cut dairy. I wouldn't drink the milk, but I'd sure make ghee and yogurt and butter. And ice cream and cheese... I think grass-fed milk is better for you than even grain fed organics (at least that...
  16. Ghee is great! Only caveat is that if you are trying to avoid inflammatory foods, ghee is out because it's an animal fat. But if lactose/casein is your concern then ghee away. I love it.
  17. In the US that would be a possibility. Here they are labeled "gluten-free oats" and are tested.
  18. There must be a law that forces them to disclose. Seriously.
  19. I would say the type of doctor isn't as important as their level of Celiac expertise. Some people find very good GP's, other Internists, or GI specialists... I personally see an ND. There are really good and really bad doctors of every type. It's hard to find a good one. Is there a local Celiac group in your area? If so, contact them and ask for a referral...
  20. Learn to always carry a bit of food with you - Kind bar, nuts, etc. Something shelf-stable and portable. It comes in handy. It won't substitute for a meal but it will keep you from starving, and it will get the point across that you aren't eating something that isn't safe just to make someone else happy.
  21. This might help a bit.Open Original Shared Link Its aimed toward explaining NCGI but it covers some of what you're asking. And it's very informative.
  22. 1) What name brand is the testing kit? Find out and post it here, along with the specific name of the kit. Let's make sure you are getting all of the necessary, age appropriate tests. 2) It sounds like it includes a genetic test. That's good IF it includes the alpha/beta subunits. Why? Because the Celiac markers may show up on the units they don't report...
  23. Goodness, you can't win can you??? What about the high-end paper napkins (sorry, can't think of a brand but it would probably be different anyway...)?
  24. You can try washing your produce in soap, then rubbing baking soda on your produce to remove as much of the coating as possible. It's not perfect and quite frankly won't solve the problem if it's gluten...but it does get most of it off - which may help if you just want the gunk off. I do it because I wonder what else is on there...and I do know someone...
  25. Many of us have tried for a piece of paper saying we're Celiac in hopes of convincing family members to get tested. It doesn't work as often as we'd like. It seems to be more effective when patents use it to get minors tested. In short - they either will or won't - you can't make them. If you think you need a piece of paper, perhaps you should talk with...
