  1. It seems to me that none of your tests are valid. Not the scope nor the celiac panel. Reason being that you were gluten light. Add to that, the fact that there is a 30% false neg. rate in the first place & in short --- you're screwed as far as testing goes. Now, the only way to get accurate testing would be to go back fully on gluten for 3 months eating...
  2. At your service Keemosabe. Gunkie, Marilyn forgot to tell you she has lupus so she knows what she's talking about too. And what little I know about Lupus, drinking alcohol is very, very BAD for it. Makes you feel like crap!
  3. I had thought about lupus also. I have a friend with it but I have never actually seen the rash. She goes snorkeling fully clothed & has to be VERY careful about sun exposure. I'm glad Teri Lou chimed in. Having lupus she ought to know. Let us know what happens.
  4. Skylark, here's the whole story: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/94090-lost-and-confused-so-sick-please-advise/page__p__804336__fromsearch__1#entry804336 She was dx'd celiac 9 years ago. Went gluten-free for 5 yrs. but still felt bad, went back to doc & doc said go back to gluten & take immodium. She's just had a series of BAD docs.
  5. It's a hassle but you could keep all your stuff in your room & take what you need into the kitchen, use it, wash it & put it back in your room.
  6. One thing shalnuts; if you still intend to go to the doc & get tested again. You MUST be consuming & HAVE BEEN consuming gluten. You can not have been off gluten for even a week. Otherwise the tests get screwed up b/c of that.
  7. Oh my! That does look painful! I couldn't help but notice strap lines in the one of your shoulders/breast bone. There is no rash in the strap lines. Which would indicate sun exposure is the problem. Some ppl are allergic to sun exposure. That doesn't explain why you get it when you get hot but there certainly looks to be some connection to the sun.
  8. Oh YUM!!!!! Thank you , thank you 1974girl!
  9. Thanks Ravenwoodglass. What the HECK was I thinking?????? Yes, of course --- unless she's gluten-free then going li will do no good. I think there must still be some traces of gluten rattling around in my brain.
  10. Hands down absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. But you know what? The point is moot b/c shalnuts was dx'd with celiac 9 years ago. So it really doesn't matter what the blood says. I mean obviously they screwed up by not doing the total IGA & that's also probably the same doc who told her she could eat gluten. Whole point being that shalnuts is having problems now eating gluten so she (you're a...
  12. The gliadin IGG was positive & the gliadin IGA was positive b/c the range is below 6 but you had 6; not below 6. And as I understand it then that points to the other results being false neg. That's why they should do a total IGA. But I'm not great at interpreting these things. We'll see if someone else can give you some feedback.
  13. You're still cracking me up. But on a serious note, the granite & the marble are both porous even though they are stone but if no one else used it then no problem.
  14. My mom was born in Montgomery, Al. as was I & we deep fry everything too. Pork chops, zuchinni, yellow crookneck squash, bell peppers. Hubs & I have (had) a saying: Deep fry a paper towel - we'll eat it! LOL! I used to make something called Ollie Bollins which were somewhat like donut holes only even better. So now you have to give me the donut...
  15. Two birds with one stone I love your sense of humor!
  16. (((((Big HUGS))))) Razzle. Hang in there; you'll get it straightened out.
  17. Whoa there Carolyn! Caution. The GI doc said you should now go gluten free? What if he wants to do an endoscopy after he gets the celiac panel back? If you're gluten-free then that gets screwed up. And did he do the FULL panel? I'm just saying about the going gluten-free thing ---- think about it first. Lots of docs just really don't know & don't tell...
  18. I would like to add that I did not do an in depth study of eczema so the symmetrical part is not an absolute given as to it does or it doesn't --- I just didn't see anything saying it does. Now, here's a thought...... I have never heard or read that any skin condition responds to withdrawal of iodine EXCEPT dh. And there have been some on here with dh...
  19. I don't know. It could be eczema, it could be dh. I just did some checking on eczema & nothing I read said it presents symmetrical. But ppl with gluten intolerance as well as celiac ARE known to have skin conditions such as eczema & psoriasis as well as dh. Do they burn sometimes as well as itch? Does the itching get worse at night or late afternoon...
  20. YVW. Oh, yeah, it burns too & stings. 12 -24 hrs. before it appears it will sting/burn like a fire ant bite but you look & there's absolutely nothing there. Cutting processed food is a very good idea as salicylates can be a factor & processed foods are high in salicylates (sals).
  21. There could easily be cc from the girls. There could easily be cc from almost anywhere. And YES, it might just be celiac rash. And YES, it can come when gluten-free especially if there's cc. You see, after going gluten-free celiacs tend to have much more severe reactions when exposed to gluten, even trace amounts. I'm going to give you a couple links with...
  22. I'm SO glad! I also posted about Frito Lay! Gluten-free snacks from them are safe --- no iodized salt. AND Old El Paso stuff too. YAY! But you have to check about everything --- I once called about some ham that we love & they use iodized salt.
  23. Terrific Carolyn! I was a little worried we (I) had offended you but that is never our intent. It's just that stuff like what happened to you happens all the time! IrishHeart herself went through doc after doc after doc & dx after dx after dx for years! And she darn near died from celiac disease! And I'm NOT exaggerating! Many here have similar stories...
