  1. Just like almost everywhere else in Fl. Melbourne used to be a wonderful place. I know it well. Surfs Up! How many times did we go to Melbourne b/c the guys heard the waves were good up there when they were bad down our way? But Melbourne, like Jupiter is not what we remember from growing up. "They paved paradise to put up a parking lot." Ah yes...
  2. YVW Sunny! BTW, my w/d lasted at least a whole month. And then I would still get days of feeling that way. The whole body has to re-set so to speak. You also should go get your vitamin levels tested so you know where they are now & supplement accordingly. Also probiotics --- if you can handle dairy then yogurt if not then you can take Culturelle. And...
  3. I am glad to hear that Carolyn! Good news right?! Yes, you could still have a sensitivity to gluten so if things get bad again then you know what to do & this board is for gluten sensitive people too so don't hesitate if you need help. Wishing you great health Carolyn!
  4. I'm going to say gluten withdrawal is going on. Happens to most all of us. Just put gluten withdrawal in the search box above & you'll come up with tons of posts about it. It WILL pass but since everyone is different we can't tell you how long it will last for you. I reacted exactly like you are feeling. You need to up your protein in the morning &...
  5. When my hubs was going to begin gluten-free I was very worried about "the bear" emerging when withdrawal kicked in. Luckily, VERY luckily, he escaped gluten withdrawal; maybe b/c he was gluten light b/c of me. Anyway, IrishHeart gave me a tip to deal with him if the withdrawal made him bearish. She said load him up with gluten-free carbs. Get lots of Glutino...
  6. A biopsy of the dh rash is almost certain to turn up negative. First --- there is a 37% false neg. rate. 2nd --- the OP has been gluten free for 3 weeks & just like with all the other celiac tests you must be eating gluten even for the dh biopsy. 3rd; if you have been on steroids anytime within the preceding 2 months the dh biopsy will be negative. ...

  11. You could possibly have celiac disease. Most everything you listed can be a symptom of celiac.
  12. This is the current up to date FULL celiac panel: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA and IgG Total Serum IgA The DGP test was added recently to the full panel. Also can be termed this way: Endomysial Antibody IgA Tissue Transglutaminase...
  13. She's an idiot. Dump her & get a new GI.
  14. Methinks when you were little were not the only escapades you had climbing back & forth to the backseat nor performing hump sitting maneuvers megal. Nah, you ain't got me fooled fer one darn minute thar. Irish gals be wild young uns I be told.
  15. Glad you're feeling a little better. Hey, I sure enjoy your humor gal so don't go anywhere on us! (((HUGS)))
  16. Maybe you can start out easy by convincing her to get the gene test. Is there any history in your family --- blood relatives of diabetes, auto-immune disorders, thyroid, IBS, lupus or perhaps grandparents who died of stomach cancer? Any history of any of the diseases associated with celiac disease? Here are some links to help with that: /celiac...
  17. Abby, I'm sorry to tell you this but it's going to be a bigger fight than you think. It is harder for a celiac with dh to get diagnosed than a celiac. I want you to read these 2 threads; they explain much about dh & getting a diagnosis. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/94256-possible-dh-would-like-your-input/ https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic...
  18. You can make your own mayo but it doesn't have a long shelf life. It's oil & egg & mustard powder I think I remember rightly. You can look for recipes on the recipe forum. I don't have a clue about the water issue. Hopefully some smart person will come along with an answer for that. Someone must have encountered it before. ..... eat a lot...
  19. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! If she has dh then she IS celiac!!!!! And that means she needs to stop eating gluten FOR LIFE; just like you. Just b/c someone has dh doesn't mean their villi aren't being damaged. It means she can develop any of the maladies which stem from celiac disease. It means she can get lymphoma; in fact celiacs with dh have a slightly higher chance...
  20. Do you kiss a gluten eater? I have no idea if you are male or female or married or what. I'm saying to you suck face with a gluten eater? Does that person brush their teeth before kissing with you? You can get glutened that way. Have you checked lotions, shampoos, conditioners, hair products of any kind, moisturizers & so forth to make sure they are gluten...
  21. Have you been tested for celiac? It's sounding more like you're celiac. And you could be gluten intolerant with the added bonus of lactose intolerant. So don't eat dairy. You can always try it again in 3 or 4 months. And maybe you shouldn't eat those processed foods even though they are gluten free. They are still processed foods & the gluten-free snacks...
  22. Did you check out the photos here? https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/94056-dh-photo-bank/ And check out the descriptions here on this link --- follow the link in that first post https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/84513-descriptions-of-dh-types/ DH ITCHES!!!!! And or burns & or stings. However, it could be a precursor to dh.
