  1. I read the posts about Sees candy being gluten-free. I'm not a huge candy lover ~~~ lost my sweet tooth somewhere but every once in a while I get a craving especially for dark chocolate. I sure hope their chocolate is as great as you guys say because I just made an order. Pricey. Getting some dark chocolate bars & a 1 lb. assorted box of chocolates. Will...
  2. Oh that's very good to know Peter. I just had a taco minus the taco shell & salsa & taco sauce today for lunch as i wasn't sure about taco stuff yet.
  3. Welcome Shari! I never met a person from Ohio whom I didn't like & that's the truth. And aren't you lucky to have a co worker who can help you along this rock strewn path. And this forum is amazing too. So you have resources plus back up. It doesn't get much better than that. I don't think I've read a single post where the new person is not...
  4. Susie, you need to be eating the equivalent of 3-4 slices of bread everyday for 3 months (as I understand it) to get the max. out of the tests. And you may still turn up negative. You may be truly negative for celiac or may not be. You may have a wheat allergy. Does it matter? You said wheat is utterly out of your life forever. So you could do your own challenge...
  5. Don't forget to wash the fridge/freezer inside & out & don't forget the handle. I think there's a gluten-free taco seasoning. Seems I recall someone posting about it. Use the search function for the forum. It's located in the header of each page.
  6. I echo your sentiments. If not for this board I would be going crazy too. I would doubtless still be glutening myself not knowing all the hidden places where gluten lurks. I would not know about the iodine connection with dh. And, oh, about a couple hundred other things I have learned from these good people. Just hang in there & don't hesitate to...

    ARCHIVED Dh?

Tamesis, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. You've been getting glutened for 6 years when you could have been healing for 6 years & now dh. I'm shaking my head over the medical community who tests you yet sets you up for failure of the test. How many times have we heard this? Tamesis, is it that all fired critical to you to get an official diagnosis...
  8. I hope you get better quickly love2travel! Had pot roast here.
  9. Brain fog + senior moments. Oy! I have AAADD ---Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. I think I read somewhere that's a side effect of celiac.
  10. We go through all kinds of weird feelings with this. I'm only about 4 mos. along myself & wonder ---"what's next?". I can't answer your question because mostly I didn't have much in the way of GI symptoms as I have dermatitis herpetiformis. But I have gone in & out of good feeling, yucky feeling & I understand it's par for the course. There is...
  11. Thanks Sylvia --- Karen figured out what I was asking. I'm going to blame this one on brain fog --- that's my story & I'm sticking to it.
  12. Well that makes sense. And now I feel really stoopid! Slapping palm to forehead & LMAO.
  13. Try as I might I can not find how to get those 2 little icons below my avatar. Help me please?
  14. Then I will say congratulations to you both! And when you post such as this it gives inspiration to the newbies such as myself. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Marilyn, make your own whipped cream. It's easy. Only takes a few minutes.
  16. Thanks for pointing that out Sylvia. Makes one wonder if someone was pulling a prank doesn't it?
  17. Sounds like you're on the right track Pandora (love your screen name BTW). Good luck & let us know what the test results reveal.
  18. Groan ~~~ 10 years???? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it is great to share this information. I don't think there's a single one of us who does not wonder & worry & wait for that first itch free day of the rest of our lives (we hope). I am basically only 4 months in now & have had 2 cc/glutening episodes...
  19. I'm happy to share the information! We all benefit.
  20. Do you believe in magic? I don't.
  21. I'm going to say that you might do better with a GI than a GP doc. But even if your bloods turn up negative then you can always trial the gluten-free diet & see if it helps. For your daughter too.
  22. Carolina, I didn't know you had problems with nuts. How about getting some steak & cook it all up on say Sat. then cut it up into portions & freeze individually wrapped portions. Take one out in the am & nuke it & just eat it. Throw in a rice cake & some yogurt & you ought to be good to go.
  23. Began with a brown rice cake topped with peanut butter, then had an apple with peanut butter, then had a tangerine, followed by some pineapple. I have a feeling I'll be looking for more to stuff my gullet with before too long.
