  1. Raven gives good advice. Listen to her. And if you go to a derm who is experienced in dh & get a positive biopsy then you won't have to gluten yourself anymore for any future tests.
  2. I'm sure your DH will be delighted to pamper you a little extra today. Don't all men love playing the white knight?
  3. Go Prickly! Prickly is always pretty much on top of things.
  4. Loves2, glad to hear the owies are better. Massage sounds very nice! Enjoy.
  5. Ahhhhh, Sweden. It's a very pretty country from what I've seen on TV. I would like to visit it in person some day.
  6. Are you going to try to dig up fish? Good luck with that! Humor never hurts.
  7. Anytime dani, anytime. We are all here for you. May I ask what country you are in?
  8. If you can get fresh water fish it does not have the iodine content.
  9. Those immature creeps are not worth you bothering to even think about. They are creeps! Drop them like hot potatoes & keep your 2 true friends. Don't associate with the creeps even if you have to go to a new church because these kids certainly don't have any conscience & are not acting in any kind of christian manner. The only solace is that one...
  10. dani, I can't speak for the sores on the gums but you mentioned you've been eating a lot of fish. Salt water fish? Because you may, like so many of us with dh, be getting affected by iodine. Many of us have to limit our iodine intake because otherwise our dh flares so bad we can't stand it.
  11. Awww dani, I'm so sorry. It's that old "caught between a rock & a hard place". That's why so many of us are self diagnosed. We can't bear going back. Might as well be asking me to put a bullet in my brains. No way! But each of us has to do what we need to do. That doesn't mean we can't hold your hand while you wait & worry & wonder. Go do...
  12. Jane, I bet if you see the GI Dr. IrishHeart & someone else recommended, the doc will be able to tell you who is the best derm to see about getting a biopsy of the dh. Maybe even if you call the office & explain to them they will be able to ask him & get back to you with the name of the best derm for the situation.
  13. Jane, most celiacs with dh do not experience the gastro symptoms like those w/o dh. But that does not diminish the fact that we still have GI damage.
  14. Good for you Kimbalou! You did it, you resisted, you WON!!!!!!!!!!! Now, treat yourself with a really special yummy desert.
  15. Missy, Read this thread all the way through. it will tell you much about the differing dh experiences we have & the way dh presents for different people. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91270-symmtery-in-dh/ And Always...., Yeh! I hear you! No way, no how I'm going back on gluten to get an official diagnosis. As far as I'm concerned I DO have...
  16. Kyle, I needed a multi vitamin that did not contain soy. Also I had to have one that did not contain iodine or dairy (b/c of the iodine) or iodized salt because I have dh & the iodine really makes it flare. I searched far & wide. I came up with this: Solgar brand --- their "Vitamins Only" multi. No sugar, starch, salt, yeast, wheat, soy, gluten, dairy...
  17. I third Larabars. My favorite is the cashew cookie. Dates & cashews period. Gluten free, dairy free, soy free, non-GMO, vegan & kosher. That pretty much covers anything anyone worries about.
  18. Very interesting Peter. Thank you. I did not quite understand that before you explained it that way.
  19. I'm looking for a gluten-free, msg free beef & chicken bouillon. And not a bouillon with the msg listed under another name. Can anyone help?
  20. Loves2, I hope you feel MUCH better very soon! Sad that you're sad.
  21. Or at least get a new textbook!
  22. Feel good story! WOW! I'm so happy for you. What a wonderful bunch of people your hubby works with.
  23. Hey Kyle, I'm the Quinoa, Amaranth girl. Those two things you never heard of which I quoted the protein & carb stats? Okay, so far I have only used them as breakfast foods. Like you used to have oatmeal or cream of wheat --- you know, hot cereals. I don't have diabetes but I have problems keeping the blood sugar in line. I have found since going gluten...
  24. Eatmeat, YAY for that statement! I've had dh just about everywhere but "textbook" says elbows & knees. I've NEVER had it on my elbows (fingers crossed against jinx) & only a couple times on my knees. And BTW, I have had in on my face too.
