  1. Dilute your Juice with some water. Juice is not great at easing C. The best drink for that is water. Whole grains are available in Brown rice rather than white rice. Amaranth snaps by Nu-world foods has whole grains. kinnikinnick sells some great breads that contain whole grains. One is the flax seed bread and that'll help with the C. Open Original...
  2. Forgot to add...I use regular sugar in the recipe. I've never made it with the fake sugar.
  3. Open Original Shared Link Try this recipe.. I add chopped chocolate bits *lots of them* when I'm in the mood for chocolate. This recipe is very easy, tastes delicious and makes TONS of cookies.
  4. They're good enough w/out the extras. Better with the extras, though. You don't have any extra cinnamon & sugar around?? Cream cheese on them tastes good, too.
  5. Some teas (celestial seasonings for one) contain barley malt.
  6. Some people have a very myopic view of life...completely limited to their own experiences. Consider THAT a disability more so than the disabilities you suffer from. I'd rather be physically limited than emotionally limited.
  7. Open Original Shared Link This is a link to a pb cookie recipe that is soooo super easy. I used real sugar because I think the fake stuff in unhealthy. This recipe is great for kids to help out with. Makes lots of cookies and they taste great. Love this recipe. Thankyou to the person who posted it. I've made dozens of cookies with it....BUT I add...
  8. Be careful with the BEER, or you'll find yourself on another kind of self-help website in no time!
  9. Break Bars are great gluten-free "kit Kats". We like them a lot. They have an orange flavored one now. I just ordered some for Halloween trading. Gluten free mall has them. Shipping is crippling at gfmall.
  10. I buy a couple of bags *for variety* and "trade" with my son for the gluten-free version. Some of it is traded with his brother and sister. They'll give him a snickers for a kit Kat..... You should monitor the trading amongst children or the older *wiser* kids will walk all over the younger celiac like China over the U.S.
  11. Yes, that's why I don't like to hand it out. I think sugar is bad.... we DO eat it, and I don't sweat the stuff much, but I hate the idea of a bag of candy that's going to be consumed by a small kid for days. I think it's obscene. I'd rather hand out "lucky bucks" or something like that where the kids can go trade in the "money" for something like a soccer...
  12. smarties are gluten-free... Get a break bar to replace your kitkat. gluten-free mall has them I think. I just ordered dozens for my kids. They have an orange flavor now too. I ordered it, but haven't tried it yet.
  13. My son eats the brachs and has no problem. I called a couple years ago and they said they were gluten free.... Was I playing russian roulette with the boy???

  15. Doesn't a celiac need a haz-mat suit to enter a dunkin donuts??
  16. I hate all the candy of halloween.. But we love the dressing up. I gave out glow sticks last year. All the kids loved them. I found them at a 99cent store and got containers with 12 in each for only 99 cents!!! It was great. I hope to find them again this year as I cannot bring myself to hand out candy. Does anyone have a way to eliminate candy from...
  17. I picked up the ingredients yesterday - we're making them tomorrow.... if we have any caramels left! *i bought three bags, so there will be enough*
  18. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Kinnikinnick breads, bagels, donuts, pizza crusts are great. Worth buying. Shipping is a mere $10 on orders up to $200. I buy $200 worth of food and store stuff in a freezer in my garage. It's worth it and I'm a frugal person so I'd tell you if it wasn't worth it. Chebe is pricey as far as...
  19. Open Original Shared Link I was looking into it awhile back and this is what I settled on as a reason.
  20. Open Original Shared Link I posted some "normal" food ideas here. I have three kids too. We eat food that looks like what everybody else is eating.

  23. Here are some foods that are gluten free that you can get at your local -regular store. Avoid WholeFoods and their kind. I've heard tales of Walmart carrying the Thai kitchen meals. Many are gluten free. AND Walmart instituted a policy of labeling their brand name products GLUTEN FREE *when they are gluten free* and no one beats walmarts prices!!!! ...
  24. Open Original Shared Link Kinnikinnick's website isn't working right now or I'd post the link for you. Chebe has a Cinnamon mix that you can enhance. I use extra cinnamon and sugar and put vanilla icing on top. Like the pillsbury dough boy breakfast buns... I also add a tablespoon of mesquite flour because it enhances the flavor 10x. You can...
