ARCHIVED A Couple Questions
loraleena replied to Clark Bent as Stupor-Man's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I would really look into threelac. It was developed in Japan and has been used there for 10 years. It does not require the strict diet. I did that diet last year and wasted away down to 116 lbs at 5'9". I stopped getting my periods and basically felt like crap. I am going to be starting threelac soon. You just need to not eat refined sugars and carbs... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Heard Of This?
loraleena replied to sclark9602's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have it, and am going to be trying a product called threelac. I am working on some other health issues as well right now so one thing at a time. Try avoiding sugars, vinegars (except apple cider) refined grains, cheese, milk, and a lot of starches. You can read a lot about candida overgrowth on the web. Supposedly celiac can cause candida overgrowth... -
ARCHIVED Acid Reflux And Treatment Side Effects
loraleena replied to Evan's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Acid reflux medecines can make you worse. The majority of people who are told they have acid reflux often have too little acid. Try a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar before meals. If this helps you have too little acid. If it worsens that you have too much acid. -
ARCHIVED Help Do I Have Celiac
loraleena replied to charmaine broxton's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
There are a lot of false negatives on those tests. You could have a stool test done by Enterolabs. Or, you could just go gluten free and see how you are. Good luck. -

ARCHIVED Testing

He should do an endoscopy to check for villi damage. Be warned, this could come back negative, but that does not mean you don't have celiac. I would try the gluten free diet anyway (after the endoscopy) since you have abnormal tests. That is all you need. -
ARCHIVED New With Questions
loraleena replied to Paigie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
To both your questions - yes and yes. A couple weeks on the diet is not enough time to see change. It took me several months. -
ARCHIVED I Cant Stand Up
loraleena replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Just a thought. Since going gluten free I can't seem to tolerate alcohol anymore and others have said this as well. I wonder if the same can happen for THC? -
ARCHIVED Fading More Each Day
loraleena replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Lister, Std's such as herpes can lay dormant for years. It would not mean your girlfriend cheated. The fact that you are not well and possibly your immune system is great right now could bring about a dormant condition that your body used to fight off. Hi back again. A rash could also be yeast or candida. I have been talking to you on your other thread... -
ARCHIVED Obscure Noises, Burning
loraleena replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Do you have insurance? If so your doctor can order the test. Then you pick it up and do it at home. There is a paper that you fill out and send to your insurance to get reimbursed. If money is a problem, and I can relate, then I would just go with the tests you have done on your own and try some natural ways to eliminate candida. I am going to use Threelac... -
I hear you. You should buy and make Manna from Anna bread. It is on the web. It is crusty chewy and yummy like a real loaf!!

Try raw cheeses (better for you anyway) or goat and sheep cheese. There is a wonderful water buffalo yogurt that you can get at Whole foods. -
ARCHIVED Need Help With Diet!
loraleena replied to jasoncolz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Make sure your vitamins are gluten free as well as all toiletry products (soaps, shampoos, toothpastes etc.) A lot of people seem to have problems with some of the processed gluten free products. You may want to stick to whole foods - meat, veggies, fruits, potatoes, rice etc. Skip the processed sugary stuff. -
Yes, make sure he has his thyroid peroxidase antibodies checked. TSH is farely innacurate in a lot of people. This test would signal Hashimotos hypothyroid. I would also get his adrenal function and DHEA levels checked.

This happens to me at least once a week. It sucks. I don't know why and its not gluten.

I just read that the Mayo clinic has been doing studies that show that 90% of sinus infections are actually fungal in nature. That means that antibiotics won't work. In fact they will increase fungus. I would look into candida overgrowth and other forms of fungal crap that could be in there.

ARCHIVED White Bumps On Tounge.....tastebuds That Hurt!
loraleena replied to angel-jd1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have been getting that for the past few weeks on and off and never with the same foods. Sometimes it happens when I haven't eaten. Mine itch! They are on the middle to back of my tongue. -
I have Hashimotos. The way we found out was through the thyroid peroxidase antibodies - they were 799 and should be below 20. My TSH was normal. Make sure you get the whole panel. The TSH alone only catches about 45% of thryoid cases. If you are low side or high side of normal I would definitely pursue this. Check out Dr.Lowe.com. They have lots of...

Candida is not going to show up on a bacteria test. Check into Great Smokies labs about stool tests. I would assume you have it based on what you have already done. It can difficult to get accurate candida tests. Look into diet modification for candida and supplements to help. There are many out there. I am currently about to use Threelac. Dealing with... -
ARCHIVED Sad And Angry

I am not saying that reflux doesn't exist, just overdiagnosed. If the apple cider makes it worse than that shows it is definitely not too little acid. Sorry to offend anyone. -
ARCHIVED Fading More Each Day

Lister, I would get the bumps checked out. You want to rule out stds. Also check into candida overgrowth - this could cause all your symptoms including rashes! -
ARCHIVED Digestive Enzymes
loraleena replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I use enzymes and they help me digest in general - less bloating and gas. Not gluten though. You do sound at least gluten intolerant. If you feel terrible on gluten, then that is all you need to know. -
ARCHIVED How Long Is Long Enough--elimination Diet?
loraleena replied to jabberwife's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You can need months to feel better on gluten free diet depending how much damage is done. I would suggest a stool test from enterolabs. Blood tests are very unreliable. You could just try the diet for a while. You do not have to eat gluten for the stool tests, so stay off it. Good luck
