  1. personally I think the one without yeast is better
  2. It is normal to good and then bad and then good again. It can take a long time for your digestive system to get better. Also you could be having withdrawal symptoms. I was nauseous in the beginning to. Make sure all your cosmetics and toiletries are gluten free also.
  3. Make sure all comsmetics, lotions, and shampoos are gluten free. Also watch out for dairy. This often causes problems in celiacs. Try not to eat to much processed food (even if gluten free) and try not to eat the same things all the time. Your digestive system has a long way to go to heal. Good luck.
  4. Shampoos can run in your mouth as well as facial products. I don't know anything about nail stuff, as I can't tolerate the smells. I would play it safe and wash hands well after using any product.
  5. Yes, it can take that long. The fries were probablyeither coated with wheat flour or were cooked in the same vat that other breaded items are cooked in. If she likes fries, get some Cascadian farms and make them at home.
  6. Oh yes. When I first stopped eating just wheat (because my idiot doc only told me to not eat wheat), a couple weeks into it I decided to see what would happen if I ate wheat. I became violently ill withing 10 minutes. I ended up sick for 3 days. I never had such a severe reaction before going off it. A month later after weeks of eating spelt and kamut...
  7. What many people don't know is that a lot of people are lactose intolerant due to the pasterization and homogenization of dairy. This kill all the enzymes we need to digest it. 50 years ago when dairy was not pasterized lactose intolerance was almost unheard of. Please go on the net and read about the benefits of raw dairy. I eat only raw cheese with...
  8. I have always bruised easily and still do. I believe it is because my platelets are low. Have been for years. Though haven't had them tested since going gluten free.
  9. A lot of teas have gluten (don't ask me to explain how). Try Numi teas or Traditional Medicinals (except for the St. John Wort. Numi teas are organic and very good for you.
  10. Hi, Hot Mamas. They have it in whole foods in Boston. I don't know about other whole foods. It is made is Ma. It is organic and yummy.
  11. The Kellogs brand has gluten. Don't know about gushers.
  12. I have always had this with spicy and acidic food. This is still happening. Yesterday my tongue and palate was itchy, but I was having allergies at the same time.
  13. Are you taking enzymes before meals? This has helped with my bloating.
  14. Yea they are awesome. Also I just discovered another sweet tooth satisfyer. They are called Okari bars. They have them at whole foods. The one I had was just quinoa seeds, sesame seeds, molasses and brown rice syrup. They are gluten free and organic. Crunchy too. Yumm.
  15. I read that Kettle chips are not gluten free. Must have been them. Try Cape Cod next time. Hope you feel better.
  16. You need to go back on the diet. The previous post is correct. There are lots of gluten free options out there. Also fruits, veggies, meat ,potatoes are all gluten free. If you ignore this diagnosis you will only get sicker. Also antacids are very bad for you. Most people actually have to little acid not too much. Try a teaspoon of applecider vinegar...
  17. Wait a minute, I am confused. If you are diagnosed with celiac, why aren't you on a gluten free diet. If you were and then went off because you thought you were better, than that is why you feel bad again. Gluten free diet is for life. There is no getting better and going off. Even if you don't feel symptoms, damage is being done. Also if you haven...
  18. First if it is heartburn do not take prilosec. Bad stuff. Try deglycerized licorice tablets by Enzamatic therapies. It helped me. Also a teaspoon of applecider vinegar before meals is supposed to help. Usually there is not enough acid rather than too much. Prilosec will only make it worse in the long run. I agree with the above post about ulcer. Gluten...
  19. I was definitely nauseaus often for the first few months. Try deglycerized licorice tablets after meals. It helped me a lot. Enzamatic therapies makes it. Also ginger tea helps (Traditional Medicinals is gluten free).
  20. Are you sure the rice cheese is gluten free? I have heard some are not.
  21. It can take a lot longer than that. I am at 6 months and am doing much better, but still have days where I just feel like sh*t!. Also, you may want to think about possibilities of other food intolerances especially dairy. Often this goes along with celiac. Good luck.
  22. Thats easy. A Pizzaria Uno pizza! Oh yea and a big huge piece of homeade bread slathered in butter.
  23. It takes much longer than a few weeks to heal. It is common to have bad days on and off. I am at 6 months and am doing much better, but my gut is still healing. For the 1st few months I often had kind of crappy days mixed with good. Try raw cheeses instead of pasterized. The pasterization kills the enzymes you need to digest thus causing lactose...
  24. I can eat raw cheese (unpasterized) without a problem. You can buy it at Whole foods. Don't worry it won't hurt you. Get online and read about the health benefits of raw dairy. The pasterization process is bad bad bad. It kills the enzymes that help us process dairy. RAw still has these enzymes. Also try Water Buffalo yogurt by Woodstock Farms in Vermont...
