  1. I can be awful noisy, but no tears. It sounds fakey to me!
  2. Nobody replied that they have this trouble. Sometimes tears get a point across that no words can.
  3. One daughter had been away from home in Korea. The other had been home and consuming daily gluten for the test.
  4. When I feel dehydrated a can of coconut water seems to quench my thirst better than water. I like Amy and Brian's, or Blue Monkey, or Cocos-pure for a few brand names. These contain nothing but coconut water which is like a natural sports drink. I believe that is why it hydrates so well. . If you expect it to taste like water, you may be pleasantly surprised...
  5. No, she is not willing so far. However, she is usually one that listens to Mom. Overall my family still seems a bit unconvinced that celiac disease is a serious problem. It is getting better, though. D
  6. You put it well, I felt most of those things. It really sounds like you are convinced you need that positive test result for family and yourself to take it seriously. I recall seeing celiac everywhere and being analytical also. I have used nut milks, coconut milk, and rice milk to replace dairy. I do alright with it. I do avoid soy, but I use eggs...
  7. I think you are on to something. It sounds as if you passed the diet response test with flying colors. Maybe you can have your skin rash biopsied. Oh, I think you must be eating gluten for that. You may want to talk to people in the DH rash (sorry I can't spell it) forum and see what they think. It may be possible to post pictures for them to help verify...
  8. I am so excited to have you on the road to recovery! Headaches could be a withdrawal symptom, but any gluten you come into contact with can throw you off too. Work more and more to discern any product with gluten and get it away. I always tell my children if they have a headache to make sure to drink enough water. How long did you have knowledge of...
  9. Just to alert all who might read this: I may or may not be reacting to gluten in this story, It is a mysterious reaction. This is certainly not a normal reaction for someone with celiac disease. First off to anyone who may be interested, my IgE is nearly non-existent, so my doctor told me that I don't have allergies. I got near a bag of flour being...
  10. I listed all tests posted on the forum for the MD, and had someone else look over the results and me besides I checked to be sure all the tests were there . They were negative.. Yeah, I figure she could be lacking IgA. I also wonder if we are lacking in IgG. I think I will have to wait until her health declines or they get better tests. Either that...
  11. I hope my poll works, but I don't see it. I am recalling feeling my best in the fall of the year after a couple of freezes, or at the time of the first snowfalls in Minnesota. All of my 5 pregnancies began in the fall of the year.
  12. My grown up daughter got tested for celiac. They tested IgA antibodies, IgG antibodies and nutrient levels. She had no symptoms, so I opted to pay for less testing for her. Her antibody levels were negative. My levels are suspected to be deficient. Her ferritin level was 5 when 10-20 is normal. My ferritin level has been struggling. She was border line...
  13. I didn't know anyone was counting on me for this answer. I talked to the Functional Medicine Nurse for two hours and never asked this question. I had so many questions. The answer may help my children, but they are grown ups now, and need to make decisions and plans for themselves. If they are not listening about celiac, I am not sure the answer will...
  14. I know this seems like a hard thing for your child to have celiac. It is good to find out early, develop habits of watching out for gluten, and not have years of damage. I suffered 30+ years with celiac. I have been gluten free for 18 months and I tell you it was worth it. I am so glad for the day I found out. Though at the time, I also felt deep grief...
  15. I am blinded by a Super-Sensitive Viewpoint: You may or may not need to be this careful: I avoid all corn. I reacted to our own home grown sweet corn. I reacted to corn starch when I used it to thicken things. I react to citric acid which is sometimes derived from corn. D
  16. Perhaps the miscarriage needed a strong release of tears and nothing has seemed so sad since.
  17. No, I haven't, but I will check on it. Hmmm this sounds like a possibility: First click took me to Mayo Clinic's definition. 18. D's steps to avoid crying: 1. Have untreated celiac for decades. 2. Have the saddest thing happen to you. In my case a miscarriage in 1987. 3. Keep going through life Somehow, I don't think this will fit all!
  19. Organic means certified that no Herbicides or bug spray are used in the production of the product.
  20. I have been using coconut milk and nut milks. It doesn't sound like WIC has them. I hope you are able to work out a substitute especially if they have those alternates for children.
  21. I know what you mean. I make careless mistakes after 18 months gluten free. Thankfully, sometimes I get by with it. Like I don't read the label, but it was safe anyway.
  22. I recall standing in the parking lot of a hospital years ago. I was pregnant and dehydrated. I was 1000 miles from family and friends. Except my young husband that was undergoing intensive training for his new job. I cried out and made noise, but that time, no tears would come. I walked into the hospital sullen and quiet. I found out since that no...
  23. Having gone through decades of celiac, realizing the problem and than trying to adjust to gluten free life, I have had plenty of reasons to cry. BUT I CAN'T.
  24. Greetings Scarlet, I hope you see those nutrient levels come up soon and the fatigue goes away. D
