I recall my Functional Medicine nurse being happy when I admitted to ignoring the advice my doctor gave me 25 years ago to take calcium supplements. I tried, but they made me sick. She was happy, because she told me the calcium supplements can make celiac symptoms worse I think that may be something for you to consider. My calcium is quite high, now... -

ARCHIVED Probiotics Causing Issues?
1desperateladysaved replied to durrsakja's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Check for leaky gut. Or consider what to do if you have it. Heal it up and then retry foods that bother you. Also have you tried digestive enzymes? If you have a lot of damage to the villi you may not be breaking down your food well. The enzymes help break down your food while the villi heal enough to do their jobs. Their jobs being telling the pancreas... -
ARCHIVED How To Know You Need Digestive Enzymes?
1desperateladysaved replied to seraphim's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My nutrient test showed a need for digestive enzymes. This test was Genova nutrient evaluation. A few days after taking the digestive enzymes my bloating seemed to go down and my energy level up. Now, my Functional Medicine Nurse said that I may try going off of them. She assured me that if I needed them, I would know and could go back on. To be honest... -

Nice to have someone that cares! -
I hope you will find, or have found the support you need. Also that your loved ones will see it better in the future. God has made so many food. I really like the ones that He made for me to eat. Every time one food becomes taboo, another one or two take their place. D

ARCHIVED When Does Gluten-Induced Body Odor Stop?
1desperateladysaved replied to caraj's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I use homemade lye soap. It is an excellent cleaner. Grandpa's makes a good bar which is likely in a store near you. Homemade soap is often available at craft stores. Did I ever tell you about the first time I used homemade soap? It stunk! Then I resoaped and it didn't stink. I realized that I had gotten clean! Mine is made of olive oil, palm... -

It steals nutrients from the cells, until the cells are depleted. The Spectra cell measures nutrients in white blood cells to determine if the cell is well...

1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Quoted from above link: "Sjögren’s is a chronic autoimmune disease in which people’s white blood cells attack their moisture-producing glands. Today, as many as four million Americans are living with this disease" Hmm on the one hand I might have some more symptoms. Yet, my dentist comments on my saliva pools. ARCHIVED Unable To Cry
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am just thinking about my Mom. I got at least 2 genes from Mom's side. She is going down hill. I think she has celiac, and did all I could to get her diagnosed, but It didn't work out. Dad said they couldn't follow the diet anyway. Dry eyes could be a similarity to my struggles, but I wouldn't say my eyes are dry yet. They just don't abound when they... -

ARCHIVED Unable To Cry

Any ideas what treatment is available? I wouldn't test something, unless I can do something about it. I don't use drugs unless in dire straights. I just would like to know if it would change my care depending on whether I have it or not.
